Un-Pax Americana: Where One Can Find US Special Ops Around The Globe

Tyler Durden's picture

Over the past year, special-operations forces have landed in 81 countries.

These days, the sun never sets on America’s special-operations forces. Over the past year, they have landed in 81 countries, most of them training local commandos to fight so American troops don’t have to. From Honduras to Mongolia, Estonia to Djibouti, U.S. special operators teach local soldiers diplomatic skills to shield their countries against extremist ideologies, as well as combat skills to fight militants who break through.

President Barack Obama, as part of his plan to shrink U.S. reliance on traditional warfare, has promised to piece together a web of such alliances from South Asia to the Sahel. Faced with mobile enemies working independently of foreign governments, the U.S. military has scattered small, nimble teams in many places, rather than just maintaining large forces in a few.

The budget for Special Operations Command in Tampa, Fla., which dispatches elite troops around the world, jumped to $10 billion in the fiscal year that ended on Sept. 30, from $2.2 billion in 2001. Congress has doubled the command to nearly 70,000 people this year, from 33,000 in fiscal 2001. The Army, Navy, Marine Corps and Air Force provide further funding.

Navy SEALs and Army Green Berets, for example, are stationed in the Baltics, training elite troops from Lithuania, Estonia and Latvia for the type of proxy warfare Russia has conducted in the Crimea and eastern Ukraine.

But the vast majority of special-operations missions involve coaxing and coaching foreign forces to combat extremists the U.S. considers threats.

U.S. special operators are encouraged to learn local culture, language and politics as they report on a country’s vulnerability to extremists. “This isn’t spying—this is armed anthropology,” said David Maxwell, a former Special Forces colonel now at Georgetown University.

Indeed! It fulfills that ancient need for a tribe to be part of and loyal too. Human culture has thrieved on tribal entities since our hunter gatherer days of say 26K years ago. For us Europeans, we were fully occupied in Europe split into tribes, where loyalty was part of survival. In modern days, a young man will gladly die for his flag, if properly motivated. It's an instinct.

I read the first link, and this is my favorite parts:

"The Posse Comitatus Act is often cited as a major constraint on the use of the military services to participate in homeland security, counterterrorism, civil disturbances, and similar domestic duties. It is widely believed that this law prohibits the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marine Corps from performing any kind of police work or assisting law enforcement agencies to enforce the law. This belief, however, is not exactly correct. What is correct is that new rules are needed to clearly set forth the boundaries for the use of federal military forces for homeland security. The Posse Comitatus Act is inappropriate for modern times and needs to be replaced by a completely new law."

Most miss this kind of thing, as they accept that the author is sincere, and not a shill for Zion and power, but, notice how he says that Posse Comitatus is no limitation, but needs to be replaced to fit modern times.

He is being paid to put forth and lay the ground work for the gutting and replacement of Posse Comitatus for "modern times."

You the reader may ask, "Why? As power does as they please now anyways." The reason is, like with NDAA 2012, to create a legal framework that will make it easier for soldiers in the future to obey power's criminal orders. Only about 4% of the population is psychopathic, and therefore the psychopaths' tyranny needs to be wrapped in a legal framework that can be used to prod young empathic soldiers to do horrendous things. All systems of tyranny, even the Nazis, employ a legal framework "blanket" of authority and legitimacy over and around their tyranny, plunder and murder.

The Milgram experiments and the Stanford Prison Experiments highlighted how easy it is to get brutality from empaths with the right authority and legal framework structures.

Liberty is a demand. Tyranny is submission.

Here's another interesting quote:

"The Posse Comitatus Act was not, as they assert and as most people believe, enacted to prevent members of military services from acting as a national police force. It was enacted to prevent the Army from being abused by having its soldiers pressed into service as police officers (a posse) by local law enforcement officials in the post-Reconstruction South."

Hilarious. As he is saying that the Act is not to prevent tyranny, "ney, ney," but to prevent the abuse of the Army. LOL

And notice how he does NOT use the word military, but "Army," which then lays the groundwork for saying that the other branches are not prohibited.

The thing is, the Posse Comitatus Act is not the only or even main impediment against the use of the military against the American people; Article 3, Section 3, treason, of the Constitution is.

Liberty is a demand. Tyranny is submission.

I wonder how he would spin Article 3, Section 3 of the Constitution:

"Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort. No Person shall be convicted of Treason unless on the Testimony of two Witnesses to the same overt Act, or on Confession in open Court."

As NATO expanded east to Russian borders, Russia came closer to NATO nations and thus NATO feels threatened by Russia being so close to their key allies like the Baltic States, the Baltic states are the ones pushing hardest for full scale war in the East. They are so fucking stupid as to fail to look at a map and see that they would be the first to be clobbered in their much sought after war on Russia. "Over the past year, special-operations forces have landed in 81 countries"

This is a natural response to the Russian global worldwide threat, Russians are pressing free nations everywhere, and spreading the global Putin dictatorship. A dictatorship of aggression and expansion of Russian military bases and acts to overthrow legitimate democractic governments. Like the recent invasion of Ukraine, where the legal Kiev Junta has been facing down a direct Russian invasion, thousands of troops and tanks are crossing the borders.

Under this type of threat, America needs to operate in 81 nations to prevent Russian aggressions there.

70000 people all over the world to educate the local Oligarchs how to fit in to the new scheme of things : TPP type global oligarchy matrices, all based on USD hegemony (now pumped indefinitely via QE and NIRP plus MIIC spend in big way).

We have the Google infrastructure, we have the Facebook "cosy kool", we have the NSA binoculars, we have the Apple instant hook up, we can tweet, we can selfie; what moar does the world need to be part of the consumer games to add fame to our 1000 top echelon Oligarchs? We even throw our breadcrumbs to the local "smart guys" who buy into our global system and park their money in the Caymans or on Central Park's and London City's high rise. What could be wrong with our oligarchy song of fame and fortune for all those who hook into the Davos group?

Now the hunger games can begin-- I know its a problem but its the fault of overpopulation-- and our Special forces can weed out the recalcitrant; the sons of Commies the new Jihadis;....you know the new Apaches... we know how to handle a Commanche who won't buy into our goulag --oups sorry, reservation-- culture for the unwashed. (Goulags is what our enemies do but we ARE Judeo-christians we NEVER do that sort of thing, we are so magnanimous)... that is if you give us all your oil and uranium for a song for ad vitam aeternam!

If you don't you'll hear the song of our Special forces in your ears.

They talk about Syrac and 250 000 dead, they forget to talk about the hidden war in Central Africa and 6 Milliion dead! Now that is why africa is soooo important to us : the Sahel trail HAS to become the new Chisholm trail one day !

Honestly, I have no problem with sending in 4-12 green berets into a village and teaching the locals how to defend themselves.

I'm all about reducing our involvement in foreign conflicts and cutting the military budget, but let's start with golf courses and the hundreds of military bases overseas, or the endless war in the middle east with thousands of regular troops. You're reaching if you think the small A teams are the problem.
