When I was a kid I worked for a construction company paving roads and most of these jobs happened to be in neighborhoods were the overwhelming persuasion of the population was dark-hued - and wouldn't ya know it, they were out at 7 o'clock in the morning with their folding chairs, drinking beer on the corner, watching us work. "We" have a lot to lose. It was earned through generations of work. "They" do not. When you don't have much to lose, it doesn't take much excuse to torch everything you see.
It boils down to a lack of cohesive black families. If you're a responsible parent, you are a long-term planner. You think in terms of generations. If you're a young buck with no education and a lust for what others have, you're going to think short term. The only practical way for an uneducated person to make serious short term gains is a life outside the law. There's nothing stopping these people from going home, taking stock of their lives, raising their kids, and planning to give their kids a brighter future. There's no fucking short cut, why can't this be understood?
