Gold & Silver Surge As Schizophrenic Stocks Slump-And-Pump
As the world hopes for "no comment" from The Fed tomorrow, anxiety in markets remains very evident... This about sums it up!
Stocks continued yesterday's weakness overnight... ramped obdeiently into the open in NY... then plunged on bad data and Iran Ship Seizure headlines before v-shape-recovering thanks to someone's generosity in selling massive amounts of protection (VIX) just as you would ahead of any FOMC??!!
Stocks clung to modest gains somehow despite weakness in Biotechs and AAPL... but Nasdaq unhderperformed...
Some may have missed the fact that once again the broken market was used to slow the descent of markets... Nasdaq feeds were down for 7 minutes and that enabled some rescue among the VWAP-mongers...
All thanks to the Kathmandu Pattern in VIX...
Because nothing says Sell Vol to 2015 lows like an FOMC meeting...
and AAPL ended at its lows... $140 Billion is just not enough - just ask Icahn
Biotech bounced but could not hold it...
TWTR "accidentally" released earnings before the bell... and turmoil ensued
Oops...

Treasury yields leaked higher all day long - as they somewhat ubiquitously do ahead of FOMC meetings... (and despite a strong 5Y Auction) 30Y Yields blew 9bps higher - 3rd biggest move this year
The USDollar slid lower from the early start ofthe US session with huge AUD strength...
Dollar weakness helped extend gains in commodities but gold and silver were the big movers... Gold's biggest 2-day move in 3 months, Silver's biggest 2-day rise in 5 months
Crude's reaction to the Iran ship seizure news is evident here but disappeared quickly as The Pentagon confirmed it was a non-US Ship...
Gold and Silver have quite a couple of days... that will never be allowed aftwer the FOMC surely...

I have been conditioned over the last 3+ years to expect a gold smackdown any time the price shows strength. I wonder what the oligarchs will be telling the Fed to say...
UNlike paper currencies gold and silver are finite.
Keynes forgot that.

When is the daily algo spoofing report going to be published by Tyler? It's my new favorite.
Consider this…

"Rally the EPSON toners, prepare teh chopper, we have work to do!" - Ben Bernank
1230 has meaning on several levels.

He's been posting the spoof's in realtime for the last few days I think
aka one of the original Tylers. Uhh allegedly.
I wonder who Cheeky Bastard was?
Ever heard of the sorcerer stone?
Even Keynes would have been appalled at what these 'markets' have become.
And I'm no fan of Keynes.
DavidC
I'm not so sure about that. Keynes would be green with envy that he didn't think of it first.
gold will go up when the china guts the paper gold market (comex)
when its to china's advantage.
Since I started freelancing I've been bringing in $90 bucks/h… I sit at home and i am doing my work from my laptop. Th? best thing is that i get more time to spent with my family and with my kids and in the same time i can earn enough to support them... You can do it too. Start here... www.globe-report.com
Those who had NASDAQ shorts goin’ and closed with losses before the leak, never fear, just declare “self-help” and help yourself to the 3:45 price.
I closed my aud/usd longs too early. :-D Now, would say the usdx might be a nice consolidative BUY going into Asia & Europe.
Just be greatful you didn't short AUDNZD yesterday... and it's gone! (I didn't as a side note. Didn't like intraday price action for a short...)
I like your comments yen. where did you learn how to trade
Many moons ago. Lots of books and smart peoples, not unlike those on the Z/H crew. Thanks for the kind comment.
FWIW, I think the Fed. is going to be a big nothing~burger tomorrow. With that in mind, and the markets expecting a dovish (same-ole-shit) statement, I'd say the risk is to the downside.
The rate issue is priced in and actual fundamentals are starting to take hold. Either way, I'd be a seller. Stronger $usd on some unforseen hawkishness, is bad for equities.
If the Fed. remains dovish, the market fundamentals kick in and the $usd strengthens, as the equities sell off.
I like the decapitated Twatter bird graphic. Maybe he's not dead, he's just pining for the fjords.
Gold (LOL!) it's real Money unlike paper and Can NOT be Allowed to keep on going up...
definition of monkey-hammering = see vxx
damn ....VIX chart looks just like a one-finger salute
Nice ride on the VXX rodeo horse if you climb on the right end of the saddle. The latent negative sentiment is building up more force.
What are the chances that the Fed fed bots will cease to pump and the world will realize the zios have destroyed the American economy and that the people cannot tweet or instagram their way to solvency?
“I Wanna be Libated” by the Ramones
Twenty more months of ZIRP to go, assets are inflated
Nothing to do, just watch them scramble to keep things elevated
Just keep liquidity flowin’, like the Tampa rain
Get me through next year without an ounce of pain
Don’t wanna make no trades, don’t wanna use my brain
Oh no, oh-oh oh-oh
Twenty, thirty more V-bottoms to go, the market’s bein’ gyrated
But that just means when rate hikes start, they’ll need to be prorated
Just sit me in my armchair, and serve that ham from Spain
Warm up my big Samsung, it’s ‘Squawk Box’ time again
I drift right off to sleep, just dreamin’ of my gains
Oh yes, oh-oh oh-oh
Hawks said Lift-off’s ready to go, but growth looks stagnated
All dressed up with nowhere to go – their timing seems ill-fated
Just plead to our Fed Chair, remind her we had snow
Hurry hurry hurry, before the hawks explode
She can direct the algos, but can’t control her foes
Oh no, oh-oh oh-oh
Ba ba baba, baba ba baba, my drink evaporated
Ba ba baba, baba ba baba, I wanna be libated
always wanted to comment on these lyrics u post daily but never did, but now i am. awesome job u do with this, seriously. continue the great work.
look forward to these daily. not easy to put together lyrics like on a daily basis.
Well, thanks, you're very kind, glad you enjoy them. Not sure the daily pace can continue without moving to less familiar or non-70s stuff, though sometimes ZH-ers surprise me. Pernice Bros parody got 4 votes, and I didn't expect they would be familiar to most folks.
Get to work Federal Reserve!
If by "surge" you mean "flutter dangerously close to 'sell range'," then I totally agree. Silver bugs are strung out and looking to dump.
Cash flow -> car payment, mortgage, cash advances.
Hey Look Guys...A Moron.
Hey Slave your buttholes leaking.

Is this the beginning of the big one?
If you mean the big(another) smackdown, spot on!
"Spot on"...was a pun, right?...
in the new normal trading world, one has to be quick to beat the algos... Hahaha, what a shyte show... almost time for the popcorn, but just not yet.
Just my gut, but something tells me Gold has reached its threshold for being smacked down by an ugly fed troll...having watched it for 15yrs. it has held this up/down move for way too long..its reminicent of when it reached 6hunge and cnbc trolls were bad mouthing...smelling a break out
Paper Au has yet to hit its 50% fib retractment level from the runup.
I'm probably trying to discern too much from the tea leaves, but until it does I'm hesitant to buy any more Au or Ag. If it does, I'm backing up the truck.
I know it requires a stretch of the imagination to contemplate the mathematical probability involved here, but let me just take a wild guess & say that some privileged jew money counterfeitters profited from this 'surprise' turnabout move which was over in an instant.

I guess TPTB didn't like Richard Russel's advice on KING WORLD NEWS
Richard Russell advice – buy and own Physical Silver and Gold.
That video is fucking hilarious. Kudos, Tyler!
I almost shitted myself laughing so hard at work.
That wasn't the bottom of the 2011-2015 move.
Have we fallen so far that we call a $10 move in gold and a 20 cent move in silver a "surge"?
When things start shifting on a BOAT, there's NOwhere to go for stability - I'll let you use your imaginations to carry that analogy further along.....
Wie sag' ichs' meinem Kinde....?
Zinsen müssen steigen...
Das kahn Ich nicht verstehen. Was bedeuted das auf English?
How do I break the news to my kids? Rates need to go up.
What???? Cramer was wrong???? How can that be????
seriusly? a surge? silver went up less than a dollar, fuck off.
It has been amazing how weak gold and (especially) silver have been recently given the gross monetary mismanagement by the cabal - except when one considers what the cabal's objectives are and the tactics they have used to perpetuate this imbalance.
Their interests are best served by a slavish adherence to US$ overvaluation because only by preserving artificially valued fiat currencies is their power maintained. Any serious student of the PM markets has witnessed massive abuse of the paper PM markets at the hands of central and money center banks in their (so far) successful attempt to supress PM prices. The CFTC and other regulatory agencies have been complicit in allowing them to violate regulations that govern position size limits which are designed to protect ethical price discovery, producers and traders.
Bottoms are difficult to call, but it is hard to deny that at some point the reality of economics needs to set in. As PM prices increase, and as equity markets inevitably correct, portfolio allocations are likely to shift to a higher commitment to precious metals – more in line with historical norms. Given the total amount of capital currently committed to equities, even a modest shift of portfolio allocations toward PM’s will result in continued futures pressure and shortages of physical. Exact timing is difficult to predict but the number of recent coincident price supportive events and the price strength in the last couple of days suggests that we may have hit an inflection point in PM pricing.
One additional wildcard is that if in fact China is beginning a "disallusionment curve" with regard to real estate and equity pricing, there could by a massive reallocation soon by the Chinese to assets that are not geographically dependent. When you look at the population effected and potential cash flows associated with such a shift, this could also contribute to a global mindset change with regard to PM's. We all know that when sentiment changes in the PM market the pricing effects can be dramatic.
