West Baltimore In Ashes: A Night Of Violence And Looting In Photos
Monday evening marked a rather dark chapter in Baltimore history as demonstrators and police clashed in the streets following the funeral of Freddie Gray who died after sustaining a spinal cord injury while being taken into custody by police. According to CNN, a flier began circulating among high school students calling for a "Purge" (a reference to a film in which crime in America is virtually eradicated by allowing for the suspension of law and order one day per year) to begin at 3 p.m. Police also reported an allegedly "credible" threat from the city's street gangs who had reportedly vowed to ban together in an effort to attack law enforcement. The situation escalated quickly after that culminating in fires, rioting, looting, and, ultimately, the arrival of the National Guard. You can see the stunning images and a timeline of events here. Sounds like you are treating the symptoms rather than the disease.
It is tempting to blame the poor, uneducated, poorly socialized, unskilled, unemployed, etc. for their plight, and there are many arguments made that seek to demonstrate that their problems are the result of their own failures or the failures of (or lack of) their parents. At the same time, looking beyond the symptoms for the causes of America's dysfunctions points to failed social experiments (bussing of students out of their neighborhoods for example), government expansion into stifling bureaucracies, regulatory capture, financialization replacing productive enterprise, and the flight of corporations to low-wage, low-regulation countries as prime causes of problems at home.
GATT, NAFTA, WTO, and other international trade agreements made it easy to move jobs overseas while maintaining access to sell products in the US. The TPP and TTIP trade agreements are the next step in giving autonomy to multinational corporations and making countries and their laws subject to the trade agreements and their arbitration tribunals. National sovereignty and the benefits of nationhood for citizens are sacrificed to corporate freedom and profits. We people are treated as mere consumers and cheap labor providers. Our rights and standard of living are mere collateral damage.
International trade agreements are key for the New World Order in which individuals and individual nations lose power to higher powers - corporations and those who control them.

I live out in the middle of Cornfield City, Midwest, USA. I keep seeing these damned military vehicles everywhere, every day. I take the major state road into my office, and every fucking day they are there. It is a new phenomenon, only in the past month to six weeks.
A friend of mine is a military guy. And most of the guys around here that wear a uniform are decent, salt of the earth types. This friend is about to be sent overseas for a month or two. I'm at least a little nervous. I'm also all stocked up at home, both food and water plus defensive capabilities.
Shit's getting real. I'm not liking the prospects depite having my SHTF plan in place. I've got one more area of my acreage I need to fence, and I'm working on it tonight and each evening I can.

Only if they created the situation that caused you to be unable to look after your own safety are they responsible for your safety. Other than that, if they want to finish their lunch when they KNOW that your life is in danger, there is no legal recourse for you or your family if something happens. IMO, that is one helluva argument against gun control. If you wind up in a situation where being armed would have kept you from harm or death, you or your family should be allowed to sue the government if it implemented gun control and prevented you from saving yourself. It'll never happen that way though.

"Peaceful" protesting doesn't do shit. Look at Ferguson, it started as a peaceful protest then the pigs pounced and it got out of control. Police brutality is well known, I have no sympathy for such pigs. Its about time some people started fighting back.
Violent protesting gets things done. It gets government attention. Unfortunately they only take you seriously when you fight for your rights. Yeah a few doritos got stolen, desperation right there. Something is fucked up to make people break like this. Most people don't just loot and riot for fun.
