12 Unanswered Questions About The Baltimore Riots That They Don’t Want Us To Ask

Tyler Durden's picture

Submitted by Michael Snyder via The Economic Collapse blog,

Why did the Baltimore riots seem like they were perfectly staged to be a television event?  Images of police vehicles burning made for great television all over the planet, but why were there abandoned police vehicles sitting right in the middle of the riot zones without any police officers around them in the first place?  Why was the decision made ahead of time to set a curfew for Tuesday night and not for Monday night?  And why are Baltimore police officers claiming that they were ordered to “stand down” and not intervene as dozens of shops, businesses and homes went up in flames?  Yes, the anger over the death of Freddie Gray is very real.  Police brutality has been a major problem in Baltimore and much of the rest of the nation for many years.  But could it be possible that the anger that the people of Baltimore are feeling is being channeled and manipulated for other purposes?  The following are 12 unanswered questions about the Baltimore riots that they don’t want us to ask…

#1 Why are dozens of social media accounts that were linked to violence in Ferguson now trying to stir up violence in Baltimore?…

The data mining firm that found between 20 and 50 social media accounts in Baltimore linked to the violence in Ferguson, Mo. is now reporting a spike in message traffic in Washington D.C., Philadelphia and New York City, with “protesters” trying to get rides to Baltimore for Tuesday night.

The firm, which asked to remain anonymous because it does government work, said some of the suspect social media accounts in Baltimore are sending messages to incite violence. While it is possible to spoof an account, to make it look like someone is one place and really is in another, that does not fully explain the high numbers.

#2 Who was behind the aggressive social media campaign to organize a “purge” that would start at the Mondawmin Mall at precisely 3 PM on Monday afternoon?…

The spark that ignited Monday’s pandemonium probably started with high school students on social media, who were discussing a “purge” — a reference to a film in which laws are suspended.

Many people knew “very early on” that there was “a lot of energy behind this purge movement,” Baltimore City Councilman Nick Mosby told CNN on Tuesday. “It was a metaphor for, ‘Let’s go out and make trouble.'”

#3 Even though authorities had “credible intelligence” that gangs would be specifically targeting police officers on Monday, why weren’t they more prepared?  On Tuesday, the captain of the Baltimore police tried to make us believe that they weren’t prepared because they were only anticipating a confrontation with “high schoolers”

Police Capt. John Kowalczyk said the relatively light initial police presence was because authorities were preparing for a protest of high schoolers. A heavy police presence and automatic weapons would not have been appropriate, he said. Kowalczyk said police made more than 200 arrests — only 34 of them juveniles.

#4 Where were the Baltimore police on Monday afternoon when the riots exploded?  During the rioting, CNN legal analyst Jeffrey Toobin said that the “disappearance of the police for hours this afternoon is something that is going to haunt this city for decades”.

#5 Why are police officers in Baltimore claiming that they were instructed to “stand down” during the rioting on Monday afternoon?…

Police officers in Baltimore reportedly told journalists that they were ordered by Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake not to stop looters during yesterday’s riots.

Rawlings-Blake, who waited 5 hours before even making a statement on the unrest, was already under intense critcism for saying that violent mobs were provided with “space” to “destroy” during riots which took place on Saturday.

One Baltimore shopkeeper said that he actually called the police 50 times asking for help and never got any assistance at all.  Other business owners reported similar results.  This is so similar to what we saw back during the Ferguson riots.

#6 Why was the decision made ahead of time to set a curfew on Tuesday night but not on Monday night?

#7 Why were so many police vehicles conveniently parked along the street in areas where the worst violence happened?  After the destruction of a number of police vehicles on Saturday night, the Baltimore police had to know that they were prime targets.  So why were there even more police vehicles available for rioters to destroy on Monday?  And where were the cops that should have been protecting those vehicles?

#8 Why is an organization funded by George Soros stirring up emotions against the police in Baltimore?

#9 Why is CNN bringing on “commentators” that are promoting violence in Baltimore?…

Marc Lamont Hill, a Morehouse College professor and regular CNN commentator, embraced radical violence in the streets during an interview Monday on CNN.

“There shouldn’t be calm tonight,” Hill told CNN host Don Lemon as riots raged in the streets of Baltimore.

“Black people are dying in the streets. We’ve been dying in the streets for months, years, decades, centuries. I think there can be resistance to oppression.”

#10 Why did Baltimore Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake initially tell reporters that a decision was made on Saturday to give “those who wished to destroy space to do that”?

#11 Why were rioters given hours to cause mayhem before a state of emergency was finally declared on Monday?  Maryland Governor Larry Hogan seems to think that Mayor Rawlings-Blake waited far too long to declare a state of emergency.  Just check out what he told one reporter

I‘ve been in daily communication with the mayor and others in the city and our entire team has been involved from day one. Frankly, this was a Baltimore city situation. Baltimore city was in charge. When the mayor called me, which quite frankly we were glad that she finally did, instantly we signed the executive order. We already had our entire team prepared.

We were all in a command center and second floor of the state house in constant communication and we were trying to get in touch with the mayor for quite some time. She finally made that call and we immediately took action.

#12 Does the fact that the mayor of Baltimore has very close ties to the Obama administration have anything to do with how events unfolded during the riots?  The following is from Infowars.com

Rawlings-Blake was one of three mayors who provided broad input into President Obama’s Task Force on 21st Century Policing, which advocates the federalization of police departments across the country by forcing them to adhere to stricter federal requirements when they receive funding.

“The federal government can be a strong partner in our efforts in build better relationships between the police and community,” she said in written testimony before the task force.

That would explain her inaction to stop the rioting when it began: by allowing it to spiral out of control, the mayor and her friends at the Justice Dept. could use the unrest to justify the expansion of federal power into local law enforcement, which would also allow her to receive more funding.

And why did it take Barack Obama several days to publicly condemn the violence in Baltimore?  Why didn’t he stand up and say something on Monday when the riots were at their peak?

Something doesn’t smell right about all of this.  Much of the violence could have been prevented if things had been handled differently.

In the end, who is going to get hurt the most by all of this?  It will be the African-American communities in the heart of Baltimore that are already suffering with extremely high levels of unemployment and poverty.

I wish that we could all just learn to come together and love one another.  Over the past few days, I have seen a whole lot of “us vs. them” talk coming from all quarters.  This kind of talk is only going to reinforce the cycle of mistrust and violence.

Sadly, I believe that this is just the beginning of what is coming to America.  The following are some tweets that show the mayhem and destruction that we have been witnessing in Baltimore the past few days…

I don't typically espouse political topics as I'm an avid political agnostic...but in writing the artical at the below link, the evidence of the current administration working against the parties supporters and working for the supporters of the "other party" is really compelling.  I certainly don't advocate voting for either party but it's clear the current party in power is not interested in serving it's supposed base.

"the evidence of the current administration working against the parties supporters and working for the supporters of the "other party" is really compelling."

What 'other party' - you mean 'the party' that's at the center of both parties, and that's controlled by the money interests, the powers that be?  Everything else is just window dressing at this point.

Here's what's gonna happen.  In one of these riots, whether it's Ferguson, Baltimore, or whoever has next, these professional protestors/rioters are going to come across the wrong resident/business owner and when a mayor permits the police to stand down and let a little destruction take place, one of these residents/business owners is going to spray the thugs with bullets and there will be bodies everywhere.  When you call the police 50 fucking times, they are standing right outside your fucking business, and they are doing nothing to stop the destruction, what the hell are you supposed to do?  Let's see how all the politicians handle that one.

That's why they chose Baltimore MD to stir this riot up.
MD is a big gun control state.

Had they tried this up the road in York PA the outcome would have been much different - a whole lot of bodies on the streets because the shop owners would have been waiting for the rioters while armed to the teeth, ready to defend their property.

When seconds count, the police are minutes, or hours away.

Developing.
There are reports, and I have not seen the actual docs, that Freddie Gray was collecting a structured settlement from Allstate for a car accident.
He received spinal injury, and supposedly had a neck fusion surgery a week and a half before his arrest.
The report also states he was working with Peachtree investment to obtain a lump sum in lieu of the structured payout.
Word is, when this comes to light, the lid will come off the pot, because the cops would be not at fault.
Freddie Gray should have been home recouping from surgery....to his spine.
The case was in Howard County Maryland.

It would explain a lot.

The American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) is also involved in the effort to indoctrinate the U.S. law enforcement community. Its website’s Homeland Security Monitor chronicles numerous meetings between Israeli intelligence and police officials and their U.S. counterparts, to include numerous trips to Israel to learn from the masters of the craft about various aspects of security, including controlling borders and airports. Even firemen have made the journey, presumably to learn how a fire in Israel differs from a fire in the United States.

Ironically, American law enforcement and emergency services are every bit as capable as those in Israel and really have nothing to learn. The difference in practice is that Israel uses extensive profiling to identify threats, which means Arabs are regularly stopped and questioned. Exposure to that dubious technique is often paid for by the U.S. taxpayer as much of the travel to Israel is funded by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), which provides billions of dollars in training grants to cover the expenses. Marc Kahlberg of International Security Consulting offers a package that is called “Eye of the Storm.” He promises “an exclusive learning tour into the heart of Hebron. You will have the opportunity to see first-hand how the police there are dealing with a daily volatile situation. You will feel the adrenalin, but be completely safe and will be the guests of the Israeli Police Commander.” As Hebron is the largest Arab city on the West Bank with a population of 250,000 that against its will hosts an illegal Israeli settlement of 1,000 protected by the police and army, it promises to be an interesting experience.

New York City’s unconstitutional “stop and frisk” police activity is a preemptive doctrine modeled on Israeli counter-terrorism practice and it should be no surprise that the New York Police Department has an overseas office.

They are the standard political and law enforcement responses to riots in the USSA for decades.

Did Freddie Gray Have Spinal Surgery (From Car Accident) A Week Before His Arrest?… Posted on by

Currently it is being reported the investigation into Freddie Gray’s death will be complete by Friday. However, the same media reports are saying the results will not be made immediately public. This is odd considering the surrounding ideology of Baltimore which would be highly favorable to a finding of wrongdoing by the police.

If the investigation revealed police wrongdoing there is nothing in the Baltimore political apparatus which would keep it hidden from public. Ergo, there’s a possibility any report would contain exculpatory information beneficial to the police.

Which brings us to a potential game changing discovery showing up in some social media about Freddie Gray having spinal surgery shortly before the events outlined within the controversial encounter. It must be noted however, that none of this is factually confirmed and we should research further.

The story is in essence:

“Freddie Gray had a pre-existing spinal and neck injury [from a car accident] and had severe damage and scar tissue from an accident that Allstate insurance was paying via a large structured settlement.

Freddie had several unsuccessful spinal fusion surgeries, and his most recent spinal/cervical operation was a week and a half before he was arrested.  Freddie should have been at home in bed resting and recovering from this recent major operation. More.......

This just in.  Another rumor put to bed - I guess:

The truth about Freddie Gray's 'pre-existing injury from car accident'

Online reports are swirling that Freddie Gray had spinal surgery shortly before he died in police custody, and had collected a payout in a settlement from a car accident. Those reports — which raise questions about the injury that led to his death in April 19 — point to Howard County court records as proof.

But court records examined Wednesday by The Baltimore Sun show the case had nothing to do with a car accident or a spine injury. Instead, they are connected to a lawsuit alleging that Gray and his sister were injured by exposure to lead paint.

Paperwork was filed in December allowing Gray and his sister, Fredericka to each collect an $18,000 payment from Peachtree Settlement Funding, records show. In exchange, Peachtree would have received a $108,439 annuity that was scheduled to be paid in $602 monthly installments between 2024 and 2039.

It amazes me how much they have to intentionally inflame these to get them going. Poor little pawns don't even know how bad they are getting played, and where it will lead the rest of us.... also nice to note they all have nicer clothing and shoes than i own...

The timeline facts are indisbutable.  Inferences drawn are quite debatable;

1) Trayvon happened in '12 ..... to consolidate the minority vote in favor of Obama so he wouldn't lose Florida in a recount the way Al Gore did?

2) Michael Brown went down in '14.....to consolidate the minority vote so the Dems wouldn't get as pasted as they in fact did?

So....maybe it wasn't about polls.  From what were they trying to distract the country's attention?  (I can't remember back that far - or was it everything obama was doing?)  What is going on today - or about to go on.  J6P to fat dumb and happy to worry about Iran nukes.  Hillary isn't doing it to distract from UraniumGate.  Rather Obama would encourage the press focus on that - he doesn't like Hillary.

My guess...the stuff really is about to hit the blades WRT to the debt implosion, and this is just a scrimage for the riot police before the big game next month.

Race has a lot to do with it - differences between races lead to economic disparity, which leads to crime / antisocial beaviour of poor blacks, including lootings like this.

Economic disparity along racial lines is not by some evil design. Look at any country (or part of country) where blacks are majority - from all Africa to Haiti, parts of US, Brazil, some Lat.Am. There were either no slavery at all, or its been gone for long time, and most of these countries have been left to themselves for many centuries. Still every single one has always been dirt poor, many also crime ridden.

How can you solve this problem? By taking from whites and giving to blacks? Did it ever work in long term? By training kids at universities to scream "racism" at every turn?

I see only 2 permanent solutions - either mix up everyone into nation of mulattos, or split country into 2 - along racial lines. I think nationwide referendum would be helpful in this regard.

And it is not about hating neither, we are all humans

1. He had a knife. It's not clear if that was actually illegal, but that's why they said he was arrested.

2. It's pretty clear from the video of the arrest that he had spinal damage before he was even put into the van taking him to jail, after the police dogpiled on him he was unable to stand on his own and his legs were dragging as they loaded him up. So who: the cops, he didn't damage his own spine, why -- it looks like it was probably accidental although there was a pretty large amount of force used on the dude, where -- at the side of his immediate takedown and arrest, and when -- at the time of his arrest. He asked for medical attention and it was denied until he was dying.

Here's the video of the arrest to see for yourself.

The popular explanation is that it was broken during a "rough ride" which is when the police cuff you but don't buckle you and then take you for a drive with gratuitous lateral acceleration.  Apparently BPD has caused paralysis with these shenanagans in the past and settles a surprising number of complaints.

"He was a repeat drug (distribution) offender and he had a knife (allegedly a switchblade if memory serves)."

There was an interesting study done regarding the idea of "drugs so addictive that lab rats will dose themselves until they overdose and die." One inspired researcher decided to try something a little different: Instead of putting rats in wire cages with nothing whatsoever but food, water and drugs, they provided the rats with a balanced, wholesome, stimulating environment with a variety of food, toys, lots of space, other rats to play with and things to do, while also offering all the drugs they could consume. Turns out that lab rats that aren't living in a deprived, miserable, hellish environment aren't particularly interested in drugs after all; even the addicted ones lost their respective addictions as they found other things to do with their time.

Just wanted to share that thought with you. Perhaps the whole "drug distribution offender" concept is warped from the beginning, and maybe the problem has more to do with millions of people living in deprived, impoverished, hopeless neighborhoods, people who can't see any way out or anything to make their lives better in any way, other than the temporary relief given by drugs. Kind of like the pitiful, wretched, miserable lab rats living in wire cages with no toys, no company, no anything whatsoever for them to do or even to hope to do, other than take the drugs and try to numb their pain.

The "War on Drugs" is a vile obscenity that needs to be terminated with extreme prejudice.

If it happens all the time it isn't "news".  Troops killed, civilians killed nothing new.  Likewise black men killed by police.  Protests against killing of black men by police is something new, so it gets into the press.

Interesting how quickly we got the "articles" saying how 1) it wasn't really about race because the Police Chief is black and there are more black officers than Ferguson, 2) rioters were goaded into action by outside agitators, otherwise they wouldn't have been upset etc.

Something new?!!! You fucking no memory asshole, ever hear of Watts? And that was not a killing, 'just' a (unjustifiable) beating that made TV, and Watts stayed on the evening TV for over a week.

I was CO of a Northern California ARNG Infantry company, so we didn't get there until Saturday afternoon, and were on the streets that evening and night (and days to follow) after most of the burning and looting were done, and stayed about 5 days as I recall.

How is what you call the obvious not left-wing?

Police violence = left wing

Racketeering = left wing

Civil rights violations = left wing

Right wing would lean away from all of those things as they require one to excercise control over another.  Perhaps you are using the public school definition of right and left.  That is incorrect.  If left = communist and right = nazi then where does that leave anyone who is opposed to tyranny?  Sorry but you cannot put libertarians or similar minded people between a communist and a nazi.  In reality the nazi sits right next to the communist on the left.  The liberatian sits near the anarchist (not the paid and organized agents in the news) on the far right.  Essentially, more control (government) moves you left.  Less moves you right.

On Reddit there was a pretty big story of how one of the local papers was blatantly lying about protest actvitivies that their own "journalists" were participating in.

Apparently they hadn't planned on the person they lied about to stand up to them, or to produce independent video from multiple vantage points proving the newspaper was lying. The entire message thread and  the paper's damage control is pretty fascinating to read, especially since the fairly left-leaning reddit crowd was encouraging her to sue them.

It's very clear that there's a massive political agenda behind this shit.

Rahm said it all: "You never let a serious crisis go to waste. And what I mean by that it's an opportunity to do things you think you could not do before." -- Rahm Emanuel
