The point is, Michael Synder explains on his website that he is a Christian and that he owes his life to this religion. He did not bring this aggressive stand to Zero Hedge. Historically, the most obvious proof would be to point out the change in individuals that have taken the opposite route than you have. At the risk of opening a huge can of worms, (especially since I personally don't subscribe to his particular version of eschatology), I would submit the case of one Chuck Colson.

As for other historical proofs, Christians have found the realization of human conscience to be of an origin in something other than matter, and the answer of dealing with guilt through the atoning sacrifice of Christ as more than something that could have found its' origin in a human mind as evidence enough to believe in the God and Father of Jesus Christ, (as contrasting to the previously known "God of Israel").
