Swiss Stock Market Collapses Instantaneously On 5th Anniversary Of Flash-Crash
It's deja vu all over again...who are 'they' going to blame for this one?
The "event" halted the entire Swiss Market for 3 minutes. And this was followed by an outage in Stoxx exchange data delivery this morning.

Better known as a Citidel Hiccup! Thanks BEN!!
Fonestar did it.
I just know he did...
OK, that's one. If you say it two more times he's going to appear again like Beetlejuice. Knock it off.
So... whose bow is this a shot across?
no one's...it's just the Devil People giggling around the Big Coincidence Switches™...like the one that took us down to 666 in 2009
Damn kids in their parents basements are screwing up the market again.....
If one stares long into the abyss, the abyss will stare back into one.
You don't need liquidity when you have really good circuit breakers.
I'm so confident of this, I'm going to go stick a knife in my toaster. Be right back.
You should be sitting in a tub of water while you do it...just to make sure....
Not sure how many people remember this, but Clif High of halfpasthuman.com had called this date and event precisely. Totally weird.
He had even called the Betrayus scandal.
As for this blame canard, someone blessed with a reasonable amount melanin for sure.
And definitely not blue-eyed.
I'd say, look east for the scapegoats and west-centralish for Moloch and his minions ;-)
Meanwhile, Sequence 15...

Wish you could see how both domesticated & wild varmints react to 11.
;)
Interesting Willy, do tell?
Hateful felines turn loving & affectionate every time I play it. Resonates with me too.
Bluebirds & wren fly close to the back patio. They may want food, but there's a pattern.
So cool to hear mate, thanks for sharing that.
I'm saving this thread/page for posterity. :-)
"react to 11"? wtf?
ORI's composition.
Get back to rowing. ;)
dupe.
My last pay check was $9500 working 12 hours a week online. My sisters friend has been averaging 15k for months now and she works about 20 hours a week. I can't believe how easy it was once I tried it out. This is what I do... www.jobs-review.com
Do you cry a lot after each time?
Does it get easier?
Is your favorite movie Pretty Woman?
pods, why bother?
Tyler doesn't (or does they?)
the swiss have a stock market?
gotta call my broker and have him get me into cuckoo clocks and chocolate immediately.
Cuckoo clocks aren't from Swissy.
SNAFU, aka, normal.
It's that guy, with the computer, we'll get him just like we got the last one.
It's that brown guy, with the computer, we'll get him just like we got the last one.
*fixed
I am just surprised that Navinder was able to set up his trading computers in the jail basement...
Unpossible. They already arrested the evil doer of all market crashes.
Inconceivable!
"you keep using that word..."
I do not think that that word means what you think it does.
But his allusion means what he intended:
1. Never get involved in a land war in Asia, and
2. Never bet against the 'Sicilian'.
[thunk]
If I was his defense lawyer...I would use this little bit of info

Time to frog march another Indian.
I give it even odds we are all stuck in some tub of goop with tubes coming out of us.
pods
is that why a lot of things taste like chicken?
Chicken just happens to taste like processed soy.
Crazy how nature do that.
Coincidence? Or is someone sending messages?
Seems almost Hollywood-like that this happens on the anniversary of the first.
we also need a juicy counter-conspiracy theory: an evil organization that recruited Indians to be the evil organization's patsies in their manipulations of the financial markets
"I say, keep those foreign devils from manipulating our markets!" - applause, standing ovation
Contemporary capitalists have issues with racial apartheid, because it denies them access to skilled workers who have lower costs than equally skilled laborers from more local or regional workforces. Indeed, neoliberal capitalists no longer want the stigma of racism on them, because they have moved on to a new paradigm that enables them to exploit all workers for profit without showing discrimination based on a person's national origin, ethnicity, color, religion, disability, gender, etc.
But is this progress?
@Eirik Magnus Larssen
since I see politics in a three-dimensional tug-of-war between conservatives, liberals and socialists...
progress is usually away from the conservative towards either liberalism or socialism
the cartoonish liberal capitalist does not care who is exploited, just for return on capital
the cartoonish socialist does not care who is saved from exploitation, and then often exploited in a socialist manner afterwards
the only one that "discriminates", which, btw, even means to open a door for a lady, is the hated, hated conservative
he is the guy that discriminates his children before other people's children, and the children of his race before the other races, and the children of his country before the other countries, and of course treats women the way he thinks works best instead of listening to what they say it's best, even if it does utterly not make sense to him
not that I am that strongly conservative myself (though in contrast to your position... well), but yes, this, imho, would be the conservative answer to your question: "progress" is among liberals and socialists, against conservatives
both sides, when they exploit, tend to be good "equal opportunity exploiters"
the good oldfashioned patriarchal entrepreneur, for example, prefers to pay fathers more, and have them to keep their wifes at home, and care for a better next generation. highly discriminatory in gender. he also is very concerned that his country has the best education, for all children of "his own"
note that I used very often the word children. patriarchalism, after all, is all about concerns of fathers versus children... including womenfolk, of course! in the next step versus progress, this might become "ageism", and a clear indication that I would be discriminating versus older or younger people, where I would have to say "individuals" and not care about their age, or adapt my treatment according to their age
;-) ( bless you, the world needs people like you. just not too many, and too totalitarian, too boot. more heart, less convictions, would be my advice)
Brilliant quip, pod! Fortunately they will never run out of them - at least in Britain!
If my old eyes are deading the number correctly, that was about an 8% move in couple minutes.
If it were an 8% move to the upside, it would not be news.
You are deading that right, m'friend.
I couldn't fix it fast enough before he replied.
5 years later, even more broken. and 100x more hollow. luckily for bulls, the curbs are in. so stocks will crash over a few days instead of a few hours. rofl!!!
markets can crush only in the downway
Must be a Russian teenager in his parents basement. ..... we will find him before the SOL is up May 6, 2020.
What ever happened to Snowden?

Everybody's algorithm get a chance to buy that dip? No? I didn't think so suckers.
i thought they caught the guy already /s
Must be his evil twin!
Ain't it funny how CNBC does play-by-play on every lunchtime, low-volume 20-point off-the-lows rebound, but remain silent in a 15m 100 pt opening dump. (Yellen's supposedly taking Q&A, but haven't seen headlines yet.)
That is just some of the evidence that they are horrible crony shills. Another is how they talk up crAapl as the techno-savior of humankind.
Conspiracy theory: we're being conditioned not to sell when market does crash. Crash is normal.
Yup, I believe the real one is coming very soon.
As usual, blame the small fry, crucify them in front of all, beat your chest that you're delivering "justice" and let the real criminals get away. Business as usual.
Definitely blaming it on Goldstein, cmon...no brainer
stockbusters
Talk about hitting stops.
7% in a few seconds. Now that's the sign of an efficient modern market.

Someone made a pivotal observation today. Take the ISIS flag, turn it upside down. It looks like the CIA shagging sheep.

Central Banking planning desparation will mandate another Uptick rule.
I thought he flash-crash-guy is in jail, how can this happen?
You cannot jail a algorithm. Just the jackass executing the transaction. Most are operating in blackpools.
"You cannot jail an algorithm" -EXCELLENT!

Whence the confusion? Yellen flushed the shitter at the FED, and the 'market' refilled the cistern.
Bingo.
I believe they're slushing FX to keep afloat.
Enjoy watching corruption within, pissing their pants. Circumventing the secrecy of TPP. They're broke, pretending too be rich. Another example of Obama transparency.
Statute of Imitation?
Looks like some tradition-algo-crack in the matrix. Nothing to see here, surely just some random fat finger movement up somebody's (!) . Move along folks.
It's so easy to do, even a caveman could do it. Cave = parent's basement.
The uptick rule would prevent something like this.
That's why they don't have it.
