Hahaha, yeah, the Greek army surrendered after 2 weeks, 15% of the population dead because the Greeks couldn´t produce enough food, and a lot of villages were burned because some stupid Greek partisans thought it´s a good idea to kill German soldiers from the ambush. So anyways (and totally OT) I wanted to comment on this apeals court ruling that the NSA's domestic spying on everyone is illegal.
"WASHINGTON — A federal appeals court in New York ruled on Thursday that the once-secret National Security Agency program that is systematically collecting Americans’ phone records in bulk is illegal. The decision comes as a fight in Congress is intensifying over whether to end and replace the program, or to extend it without changes."
"Thursday’s ruling is the first time a higher-level court in the regular judicial system has reviewed the N.S.A. phone records program. It did not come with any injunction ordering the program to cease, and it is not clear that anything else will happen in the judicial system before Congress has to make a decision about the expiring law."
If anyone ever needed any other concrete proof that the government, from the executive, to congress, to regulators, to "the law" itself is completely compromised and corrupt...you can look no further for confirmation than this.
The courts just ruled something is illegal but allowed it to continue without interference.

The question is not so much the court verdict but why it was even required.
The US constitution is NOT written in legalese, it can easily be understood by an eighth grader. Every person in the United States, who cared, already KNEW what the NSA was doing was completely against the forth Amendment. The patriot act has ZERO to do with it. Congress cannot modify the constitution with a piece of legislation.
The problem is.....drum roll....nobody cares.
And nothing will happen because nobody cares and congress knows it.

In exchange the Germans will give them about E100-150 billion, in writedowns on the debt, and in emergency liquidity to the greek banks ( I think they are already in for about 50 billion on liquidity).
The Germans win because they will have gotten real reforms out of the Greeks, and the Greeks win, because they got the Germans Money.
Rinse and repeat in 12 to 18 months.
You forgot the end part where greece is poor and broke forever.

I am sick of hearing the endless "negotiations must be completed within 3 weeks or else" mantra since February.
