New Russian High-Tech Tank Suffers BSOD Moment During Army Parade
Russia unveiled its new main battle tank as part of practices for Saturday's Victory Day parade (commemorating the end of WWII). According to RT, the Armata "is a cutting-edge vehicle with an unmanned turret armed with a brand new 125 mm smoothbore cannon, which is the most powerful gun of its kind to date in terms of muzzle energy." You decide...
Of course, the painful 40 seconds could be seen as an anology for The Fed's effort to revive The US Economy.

must be a chrysler tranny. planned sabotage masked as engineering. i thought there were sanctions.
It was built by a foreign arm of the JohnDeere/Catapillar/GM company. They don't legally own it, they only have a software license to use it. They are not allowed to fix it themselves. They have to take it to the dealer for all repairs. Replacement shifter runs about 6.5 Mill. A new key is 17 K, reprogramming the key another 100K.

Apparently I'm the only paranoid schitzaphrenic here to notice that the tank developed its transmission problem at the very heart of the parade -- before the structure that was built to comemorate the 70 years since the end of WWII.
In Red Square in front of which the 3 or 4 military bands were arrayed.
The very place you would want display your tank's shaky transmission.
Or the very place you'd display your Sun Tzu deception.
Good point, but they wouldprobably transmit fake unit radio traffic claiming tanks are breaking down for us to intercept.

it looks like Putin has finally decided to use Russia's transportation of astronauts to the ISS as a bargaining chip against the EU's effort to extend the Obama Sanctions.
As you all know, Russia's last attempt to provision the ISS recently failed. The out of control Progress space craft is due to splash down in the Pacific Friday or Saturday, having failed to deliver the goods to the ISS.

Here is the takeaway paragraph
Because there was recent trouble with the Progress' cargo flight, Russia wants to delay the launching of astronauts. The delay will allow their scientists to more closely examine the engines and computer programs in the future Progress flights and insure their success.
BUT that delay will push the next manned flight into the last 10 days of July.
AFTER THE EU VOTES ON WHETHER OR NOT TO EXTEND THE OBAMA SANCTIONS.
Those are the best tanks of russian army?
Ha! Ha!
What a fiasco!
high tech tank, low tech guys...
reminds me of our politicians trying to oversee a banksterengineered world. Even if you try to pull them in the right direction with a tank they wont move an inch.
Cash for clunkers.
Obama is buying!
It may be stuck in moscow, but this tank is already in Washington...... (You really need to see this)

Now THAT is a top-level prank. Good drills Russian students!
Cheers!
Oddball driving the tank?....always with the negative waves

Despite the commentary, that tank will mop up the floor with the Abrams. It has better range, better projectiles, better armor, is faster, and has a whole layer of active defenses the US has not even invented yet. You don't want to see the US go up against this.
LOL. The US will most likely have a tank-busting drone if it were ever to combat this tank. But, this appears unlikely if the tank can't even maneuver on a parade deck
You can LOL and make excuses all you want. You don't even know what this is a video of. As far as you know it is out of gas. The US would be hard pressed to go up against the T-90, much less this tank.
Out of gas, broken, whatever. It's a "mobility kill" and essentially useless in this video right? Look at all the fuckwits milling about and getting nothing done. If it were just out of gas, why couldn't they essentially just put it in neutral to allow it to be towed then? That bitch is seized up.
You mentioned the T-90. I'm sure it's a fine vehicle, but it really isn't a match for US military combined arms. However a T-90 is no match for a Javelin or a TOW, even with reactive armor, and that is just facing Infantry. You get tanks facing Apaches, A10s, etc... You'll just have convertable tanks in very short order.

Heard it before about the quartzite armor in the T72.
Didn't exactly pan out.
Bah. You said the same thing about AAPL in 2005
Funny how things don't 'pan out' until they do.
That looks like the Russian military I imagine.
Have you tried, turning it off, then back on again?

I bet they hired MicroSoft to do the code for the damned thing.
