Not "Unequivocally Good" - Consumer Comfort In The South Slumps To Lowest Since 2014
Americans in The South appear to be rushing through the 7 stages of 'low-oil-price-grief' rather rapidly. After a few months of disbelief and denial, it appears, judging by Bloomberg's Consumer Comfort Index, that 'Southerners' have jumped right to anger and depression as sentiment tumbles to its lowest since Dec 2014. Along with a surge in job cuts in the energy sector, it appears "low" oil prices are not unequivocally good after all.
Hope turns to despair...
This is the first 4-week consecutive drop in Consumer Comfort in a year...
So not unequivocally good after all?

Yawn. let me know when it gets back under 32
Confidence or oil?
Either I guess.
Just the pine pollen.
Pine pollen certainly needs to be part of the "Southern Comfort" Index... (wtf?)
As a resident of Fema Zone 6, I'm happy to report we are currently experiencing Chamber of Commerce weather and the mild complacency that comes with pending summer vacation season.
(Watch out when we get grumpy, gas prices rise, & the temps start to push a hundred in another 6 weeks or so)
Zone 6 is the hot zone. But it's not hot yet.
Will be by mid July though...
That's just what we need, moar angry people. Should be good for El Presidente's race war. Thaks to the planning of the MIC they will have the assets in place to protect the innocents due to Jade Helm. Our overlords are very efficient people.
Funny thing, Doc. The prospect of a long hot summer came up with one of my Progressive buds this very morning.
And he didn't try to blame it on anybody, either .... Huh ....
Whoa! You better record that for prosperity's sake.
Good point.
Maybe even TM it ....
You gotta love these generalizations, it sucks down south but also in the other points of the compass and believe or not, people will keep on living the best they can. As for these "confidence" measures, every single one of them is an opinion measure and are as useful as two assholes......
They cannot unload car inventory at 40 miles /per gallon. Subsidizing for $3,000-$5,000 trade in allowance. MB is offering up to $9,000 rebate for a KIA clown car.
Looks like they shot themselves in the foot from my vantage point. Still enjoying my gas guzzling V-8 automobiles. Fuck you Obama. Start traveling in a bullet proof Chevy Volt to condition the masses.
Changed the oil in my '95 Grand Cherokee Limited (5.2L Magnum) over the weekend.
Love my pre-OBD II V8's.

Time for another takedown.
Living here in Houston I can tell you first hand its depressing as fuck with all the fresh off the boat illegals, new cali transplants, and the INSANE traffic. People are starting to feel the recent oil boom becoming a downturn in disposable income. The malls are packed but people don't realize that this IS a texas pastime, its a joke. No soccer moms are buying anything just looking. The ghetto trash that hang out in the food courts just staring at people eating and feeding their obese bodies. The gas is still fairly cheap at 2.25/gal in some stations. Its become a freak show. Staying positive is hard to do but it's essential.
Will get through this ladies and gentlemen. Long as there are printers left to print.
