Objectively speaking, amerika is just a much darker place culturally (if unchanged politically) than America was when i was a kid in the 60's/70's. (also by design, but also a product of natural national societal entropy and decay, "a la Rome")
One of the main things that separates me politically from my friends on the Left (I used to be one and NO that DOESN'T mean I'm a "rightie" now, though I have friends there too...) is the idea of a utopian "One World" someday swimming happily into humanity's view with a single (and now completely unified) brown-race, free-at-last of the burdens of cultural, national, racial, gender discrimination all singing "Imagine" in Esperanto.
But all I can imagine under such a circumstance is a Morloch/Eloi paradigm with a tiny global "elite", aided by humanoid "kapos" and General A.I. in complete control.
This, "Plunge In Pride" is of a piece with that theory. To subsume amerika into the coming, supranational, global entity requires a prior surrender of National "Pride", of boundary, borders, Institutional memory and Tradition.
