California's "Unprecedented" Drought In Pictures
California's drought has reached epic proportions, prompting Governor Jerry Brown and state water regulators to adopt "unprecedented" (and some say draconian) measures to counter what is perhaps the only example of a liquidity crisis more acute than that which investors face in secondary bond markets.
Cities will be forced to cut consumption by as much as 36%, a mandate that is expected to cost utilities upwards of $1 billion, lost revenue which, as we noted earlier this week, will promptly be recouped in the form of higher prices for any consumer who isn’t a MotherFracker.
So with the state preparing to crack down on “wasters” in the form of $10,000 fines, and with more than 12 million dead trees greatly increasing the chances that wildfires could spread out of control, we bring you the drought in pictures:

We'll leave you with the following rather somber assessment from a professor of public policy at USC (via Politico):
“Politicians are paying attention, because some people — mainly the media and interest groups — are paying attention,” said Sherry Bebitch Jeffe, a professor of public policy at the University of Southern California. “But I’m not at all sure it’s really hitting home yet with the average voter. When they start to see rate increases, and fines for overuse, and brown lawns, then they will be paying a lot of attention. I think the politicians are smart to be trying to get ahead of it, because this is the new normal. We are a desert, and we should have remained a desert.”

One of the main signs of the mini ice age is droughts. Not enough moisture evaporating into the air. It is cold and rainy again today in in Los Angeles. Maybe the drought is only where there are no Q99X2.
Its also the sign of HAARP
You do realize that it was shut down ~ 3 years ago?
\facepalm
Communists always have shortages of something.
Only Communists?
Hmmmmmmmmm .........
Milton Friedman: "If you put the Federal Government (communists) in charge of the Sahara desert, in 5 years there'd be a shortage of sand."
So we'll target the segments that use the least amount of water, and ignore the segments that use the most.
All as a setup for H2O-Enron.
Fuck you, Moonbeam.
golf must survive
The 1% must be allowed to 'play.'
My heart breaks when I see animals being the victims of drought. People are capable of moving to other cities and other states, but the animals can't. They didn't choose to be in the desert.
So that's why the burgers haven't been too juicy lately...
Moron
WTF??!
You must surely live in a major city. No one else could write something so idiotic.
I guess now Nancy Pelossi will move to Texas......
Along with Harry Reid.
Fuck me, I wouldn't wish that on anybody.
Hey! Anybody got anything new on Harry Reid's Tune Up?
It wasn't violent, or thorough enough?
His website now features a personal message from the Senator himself.
He thanks everyone for all the parrots they've sent him but he has enough for now.
Also, due to an unfortunate eye injury suffered during training, the Reid-Pacquiao match has been postponed indefinitely but no tickets will be refunded.
I guess now Nancy Pelossi will move to Texas......
Oh, hell no.
..talking about puckered sheep puss!
Nancy Pelosi, circa 1922
Recipes, anyone? Cactus cake? Home cured dried beef sticks? Skewered parched pork? Dried unpackaged/repackaged fruit? Puckered sheep puss?
That last one was poetry..

Should of stayed a desert? She has just showcased she is a complete and utter moron. Anyone that thinks that does not have the mind of a human.
Mankind created the network of water management which allowed all these things to be created.
Then their kids came along and decided to do jack shit.
Now instead of realizing that 40 years of not having a water plan is their fault... they run from their responsibility like they ran from having a water plan and say it's...'we should of stayed a desert'.
That's like saying I knew I had to take a shit, but I decided not to for a few hours, and now that I've shit all over the floor, rather then realize my incompetence, I utter even more lunacy by saying... I should of stayed wearing diapers.
Congraulations at showcasing that USC students are getting their debt serf's worth.
How about advocating NAWAPA, instead of complete lunacy?
Damn straight!
We need more government to fix it.
Simple math. If a person uses 100 gallons of water a day, and there is only so much water, then you can have only so many people.
But people don't think that way. People think, if I have more babies, then surely Somebody will magically create more water for them somehow. Surely Somebody will magically make water fall down out of the sky like manna for MY children.
When the State began changing centuries old water laws a few months ago, it wasn't because of a dry spell, or getting out in front of a "drought". It's about subterfuge. It's about future development, where the water goes and money. Just look at this editorial opinion today in the not so liberal media known as the LA Daily News
http://www.dailynews.com/opinion/20150508/its-time-to-reform-californias...
"Politicians are paying attention ..."
Sure, that's why they are having a high speed train built!!!
It'll bring rain!!!!
CA is not running out of water. It's running out of fresh water. CA will simply build de-salination plants, become a leader in that technology too and sell it to the rest of the world. Most of the world needs desalination plants at some point of time. Plus, with climate change melting all that polar ice and dumping fresh water into the sea, we need to preserve salinity of sea. That's important to preserve gulf stream and other heat transferocean belts. So maybe Elon Musk can make another about turn and convert that battery giga-factory into desalination plant gigafactory.

Californians did not run out of water. Californians ran out of common sense (aka scientific, real-world responsibility, aka awareness of their own environment).
Californians got so caught up in their fairy-tale movies that they started believing that life was a fairy tale, and they could simply wish upon a star, and water would magically appear.
Na.. Musk just wants 7Lithum and heavy water for his space program.. that's why he'll invest in de-sal plants
Oh, you're hilarious. Build huge desal plants on the Pacific and block the views of the ocean from the rich NIMBYs' dream homes just so the insufficiently diverse can have water to drink. Yeah, they'll get right on that, I'm quite sure.
The important are the last to notice the stink when they've thoroughly fouled their own nest, and first to fly away.
Hyperinflation of food prices coming soon to a grocery store near you - just about everywhere in North America.
Soon you inlanders will feel the pain. Back at you,
Food price hyperinflation inflation is already here. My veggies and everything else are inflating around 30% at the retail level over past four years.
I've got a killer organic urban garden up and going and looking really great so far. I'll dehydrate my surplus and barter it to other urban gardeners for what they grow best.
I'm heading out to go kayak fishing this afternoon to catch some fresh Atlantic seafood for my meat supply instead of paying the outrageous prices in the store for Fukushima poisoned crap.
Has anyone noticed how cheaply the fast food joints are selling Alaskan cod sandwiches for these days? I would not give them a plugged nickel for any Pacific seafood.
The First Global Revolution :
"In searching for a new enemy to unite us, we came up with the idea that pollution, the threat of global warming, water shortages, famine and the like would fit the bill. . . . The real enemy, then, is humanity itself."
Brzezinski talks about human control:
"Speaking of a future at most only decades away, an experimenter in intelligence control asserted, “I foresee a time when we shall have the means and therefore, inevitably, the temptation to manipulate the behavior and intellectual functioning of all the people through environmental and biochemical manipulation of the brain.”
"techniques of weather modification could be employed to produce prolonged periods of drought or storm, thereby weakening a nation’s capacity and forcing it to accept the demands of the competitor” (Gordon J. F. MacDonald, “Space,” in Toward the Years 2018."
Continuing on the subject of weather warfare, Brzezinski quotes geophysicist Gordon J. F. MacDonald who says that warfare “techniques of weather modification could be employed to produce prolonged periods of drought or storm…”
5 million more water drinking Mexicans and CA will be Reconquisted into part of Mexico again. They're drinking their milkshake.
This is a "Tragedy of the Commons" on a grand scale. The levees, canals and pumps are in a state of disrepair, and the river delta continues to erode due to natural processes.
The salmon fisheries are already dead. The farms are next. Most of California has shit for an aquifer. They never should have created farms there. From what I have read, it was the farmers that created the Midwest Dustbowl that migrated to California.
History repeats itself, it would seem.
But who will build the roads?
Reap.it, Cali! You stupid liberal fukks!
I am sure all those illegal Mexicans will be able to help you figure out a solution, good luck!
Coming soon, to a city near you.
Maybe we can all chip in and buy you a plane ticket to come here and see just how ignorant you really are with your cliched ideas about what CA is.
California has become a suburb of Tijuana. Mexifornia is for real.
wow. YOU really told them who's boss!.... ill bet they are quaking in their sandals and will be moving away by the millions....you really ARE a problem solver!!!! Congrats keep up the good work....rofl
California drought: past dry periods have lasted more than 200 years, scientists say
http://www.mercurynews.com/science/ci_24993601/california-drought-past-d...
Take comfort Californians. 200 years is merely the blink of an eye, geologically speaking.
Oh cool - 200 years should be right around the time the 9th circuit court actually makes a decision on CCW for California.
That national map is a bit off. I don't know about other locations but the map has central Massachusetts as "abnormally dry" but conditions seem perfectly normal here and there are other gov't web sites which categorize it as just that, normal.
Why didn't you include pix of all the fountains in front of all the city halls, flowing like my cock on your big fucking nose, Nancy?
I shoulda never divorced Jane. She was a real American Girl. BITCH.
I've been saying this for a long time. This is an issue of equality.
The solution is very simple. If we can jam another 10 or 20 or 30 million immigrants into California everyone's lawn can be equally brown. Just think how awesome this is....EVERYONE in California will soon be washing their dishes in their toilets. People in California are complaining about almonds using a gallon of water...guess how much water an illegal immigrant and his 5 babies use.
Shared sacrifice. Equally.
Now I realize why we welcome "wet" backs.
Have every beaner bring over 10,000 gallons of water. Problem solved.
I'm taking a wild guess here but if those mirrors from those solar farms can heat up the atmosphere by 900 degrees which is hot enough to fry birds in midair. Then isn't it possible that these same solar arrays may be preventing condensation. Think about it with 900 degrees up there I highly doubt that any cloud can form anywhere near that area.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=emBY6phmn9E
One thing that I noticed is that the drought area and the solar farm array area seem to follow the same pattern.
Drought area.

I don't claim to be an expert here on the environment but based on what I learned in physics this is actually possible.
Nova did a show on PBS on Global dimming.
Something about particles in the atmosphere that didn't raise temperatures as the global warming people said. The data is from many sites world wide and included evaporation rates by measuring levels in tanks of water, the reduction of evaporation in exposure to outside sun, wind, and atmosphere.
Anyway global dimming from particles in the atmosphere led to less evaporation as measured and the conclusion... might have been that there was less rain since particles in the atmosphere led to an increase in and spreading of moisture in the sky, but not 'Rain'.
Maybe to the naked eye this looked a little hazy or overcast, but no significant 'rain'.
But seems the show on PBS or Nova is hard to find.
Interesting observation, thanks. Could also be the areas that receive the most sun (and have less cloud cover to begin with, historically) is where solar panels were built. Aside from killing the local and migratory birds though, this might be another not-so-pleasant effect associated with solar farms.
Paved parking lots, black asphalt, driveways, roads do more than any combination of solar panels would do.
California's drought is man made.

"The contractors, who edit the satellite images, have been told to NEVER show a Haarp outflow boundary, but in this case, it was so HUGE, that it did not meet the editing criteria (laid out by the Navy laison officer). So, it was a big screw-up, all around. It definitely needed a video, to show the world how powerful this technology is.
How Do Ionospheric Heaters Control the Weather? The US Navy SBX-1 transmits 20 megawatts of microwave power, in a pinpoint, computer steered beam. Picture: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sea-base...
By rapidly heating an oval perimeter (or arched vault) in the lowest layer of the ionosphere, a plasma jet shoots from the center of the heated area, downwards. It is similar to a drop of water, shot up by waves crashing together. The D layer is the lowest layer, and is 30 miles up. It only forms in the daytime, and that is why, Haarp weather control only happens mid morning, to early evening. The pinpoint beam, of the ionospheric heater, chases the smoke ring shaped "plasmoid", downwards, by heating the top side. This keeps it moving down, while maintaining the needed ionization. Shaping, and aiming, are done at this time, and the microwave power requirement increases with the density of the surrounding air. As the plasmoid hits the upper atmosphere, it shows up as an unexplained high pressure, in the jetstream. Many times, the inertia of the descending plasma is enough to produce a series of concentric, dry air, roll clouds, in the mid layers of the atmosphere. These dry air, concentric, roll clouds move radially outward, for hours, and are PROOF, that a "Haarp downburst" just occurred. These Haarp downbursts were commonly seen in shortwave infrared, on GOES-15, before I began this youtube channel. For the first six months of this channel, most of my disclosures were followed by more photoshopping of the satellite images. This culminated in NASA deleting years of their Terra and Aqua satellite images, since it was too costly to photoshop all the old hi-res pictures. NASA claims it was a hard drive failure - how pathetic! Now, we have blurred IR satellite images, with almost no detail, as a result of this covert, weather warfare program.
The ionosphere is a HUGE reservoir of potential energy, and by using an ionspheric heater in the right way, the ionosphere will AMPLIFY the energy transmitted into it. This is how a thousand-mile-wide weather event can be created by a few US Navy, 20 Megawatt (average power), pin-point beam, microwave transmitters. It has taken the US Navy, about 20 years, to figure all of this out, build the SBX platforms, write the software, and put up the needed satellites. So, here's the evidence, made public on youtube."
So when the govt says one thing it is misdirection of course.
About the time the govt said they would shut down harp, the Drought started.
Interesting.
Inland areas nestled with mountain ranges aren't that bad, snowpack and natural water tables could sustain MODERATE populations, but fvckheads who think the "economy" equals seas of tract homes with no infrastructure to support it have ruined sustainability here.
You want to see really bad? Go to Palm Springs/Coachella Valley, they have drained their water tables to support seas of lush golf courses and of course, tract homes and casinos where temperatures get into 115 degrees at noon with zero humidity. I worked out there one season and it could be 110 degrees and there were sprinklers on EVERYWHERE.
FREE WATER EVERYONE, JUST COME ON BY!
From here in AZ, once again under a dark cloud blanketed sky (below freezing tonight and flurries in flag) I am trying to figure out who in the hell grows a lawn in the SW. Everybody here has rocks or heavy sand front and back, with a few cactus. Anybody who has a lawn in the SW has something wrong with them, wondering how HOAs may be affecting the situation in Ca.
Cities stopped fining people for their brown lawns, let me tell you its ugly out here lol. HOA's are in a bind, one org fined one of their 'tenants' for converting his front lawn into astro turf, and then took him to civil court to collect the fine.
Homeowner believed it's because it's making everyone else with a live lawn look bad, HOA said it's because the astroturf cooks during the heat of the day and could injure someone. Some HOA's are pushing for converting lawns to rock gardens/drought resistant plants as long as they are done in style.
No freezing night temps out here to kill the grass so it's a little more viable than I'd say in AZ but still with no water whats the use. People don't even enjoy their lawns, they come home from work/school and go straight inside to turn on Netflix or Kardassians or bury their face in their phone.
THIS HAS THE HANDPRINTS OF ZIONISTA"S ALL OVER IT!
DAMN ZIOBANKSTERS!
Some of these photos aren't from California - once again ZH fails.
Where are they from then smart ass? Proof or STFU....
welcome to the desert of the real

It couldn't have happened to a nicer bunch of folks!
God's country after the hubri$.
A sixteen-foot high chain link fence with razor wire from the border with Oregon to the Nevada border then down to the border with Mexico.
Those wind turbines along those ridges out there in the middle of California are chopping up raptors and eagle populations are threatened.
Killing off eagles to prevent some coal emissions into the atmosphere is the height of stupidity.
Ask Jerry Brown about his oil fortune and how California burned every last drop of oil from Indonesia.
A bunch of crazy stupid hypocrites.
They fuck it all up and then cry in their beer, then they run around the world looking and asking for help from anybody stupid enough to offer some.
Too dumb to figure out that water is a limiting factor and it is going to hurt once it's gone.
Dumbasses, a lot of them, are the problem. It is not the lack of water, it's the lack of brains.
From the desert it came and to the desert it shall return, with perhaps a dollop of Fukushima radiation.
The real disaster .... less habitat for boating accidents !
Socialism Normal All Fucked Up .... SNAFU !
"If Cali wants to keep its drought, it can keep its drought. You can count on my promise!"
Once upon a time He rebooted the earth with water. Now the reboot will take the form of no fresh water.
What would it take to drive all the fruits and nuts south to Old Mexico? I mean there are a LOT of poor people that need opressing and 'edumacating' down there. And I dont see a single tranny TV star on Canal-Plus. So get cracking Commiefornians! Head south and make Mexico a trannyqueer paradise.
Come off it. Mexico is supposed to come to them so they can have perfect lawns while poor white folk stand in line for their water ration.
And all this so a few rich daddy's girls can have "organic" almond milk and strawberries in fucking January. No. Make California's pampered farmers pay what water actually costs or shut up shop and send all those damn beaners home, killing two birds with one stone. If that bothers trophy wives, they can learn to cook foods that are in season.
The old Confederacy has plenty of good farmland, plenty of water and plenty of loyal Americans who'd be glad of the work, if you'd only pay them properly. Grow America's food in Dixie, not Mexifornia.
Does Obamacare cover dehydration?
I'm sure our lord and saviour O man will do something to save that liberal dreamworld. Don't want to lose those votes
Detroit is betting on the people who left Motown for California, returning from California.
Detroit is the new Silicon Valley/San Jose region.
Humans have been tampering and destroying nature for years for fulfilling their own selfish objectives and to satisfy their greed.
Its high time they pay the price as nature destroys whatever they have built and accumulated over the years.

Tylers forgot to post pics of the canals full of water that is still flowing to southern California from northern California reservoirs. Likewise the canal to the San Francisco Bay area is still full of water from the Hetch Hetchy reservoir near Yosemite.
Shhhh we need full compliance in this doom porn article/comment section. It wouldn't look good with a couple of naysayers on the weekly Kali is doomed thread
well, actually Kali is doomed
this is just to help a few wise ones leave before that happens
Looks ok to me. What's the big deal?
Let's see. Big Ag and Big Oil. Wasteful irrigation techniques. Growing and irrigating crops that are used to feed animals that are used for food. Growing animals for food PERIOD. Fracking.
The first thing would be to stop irrigating any crops that aren't used for the direct consumption of HUMANS. The second would be to knock off this million head of cattle feedlot bullshit. You have to water them and use water to process them. Chicken and pig farms need constant flushing of water through the housing in order to keep the animals from drowning in their own waste and dying before being slaughtered.
Fracking. Who in the sam hell shits where they eat. Oh yeah. Humans. Allow the oil industry to pollute the water in order to keep the economic engine going. REAL SMART. Can you eat your money? I would love to see that.
This argument that anything that is good for the economy must be allowed is pure and utter bullshit. The economy is important, yes---but breathing clean air and drinking clean water takes priority.
The politicians will do whatever it is that allows them to be re-elected. If you think that they give one rat's ass about "future generations" or even the one we've got now, think again. They've done it throughout history. What serves them is that they die in a position where they never have to sacrifice themselves.
But people will still scream....JOBS!!!!! What will happen to the JOOOOOOOOOOOOBS!!!! Well, good luck with that job when you don't have clean water to drink or anything uncontaminated to eat.

"The Assyrians can be 'excused' to some extent," they write, "for focusing on short-term economic or political goals which increased their risk of being negatively impacted by climate change, given their technological capacity and their level of scientific understanding about how the natural world works. We, however, have no such excuses, and we also possess the additional benefit of hindsight, which allows us to piece together from the past what can go wrong if we choose not to enact policies that promote longer-term sustainability."Read more at:
