Short VXX. After the last jobs report, it fell 3 points in a week. Given where the VIX futures are, VXX ha at least another 2 points downside by next Friday. The May 19 puts at 0.04 has a good risk/reward profile.
Loved the downward revision of 41,000 jobs to the ugly March number. Also love that 94 million Americans do not have jobs and are not counted by the BLS.

Did you guys see the revisions to last months payrolls. JFC... How anyone can take these numbers at face value is beyond me.

The headline numbers didn't even meet consensus numbers.
If I told you that you actually only made half as much money last year as you previously thought, but absoluely nothing in the present changed because of that, would you care?
That's what these numbers mean. Nothing.
As their system's broken, maybe they'll declare "self-help" and revise weekly.
I Don't know why they even bother with these horrible job numbers anymore.
It's not like anyone cares how many Chinese people were hired, or people in Africa got jobs, or even how much they were paid. In fact the less jobs means more desperate poor people and cheaper goods!
I cannot believe any billionaire in the USA wouldn't tip his hat to more young Americans being tossed into the bottomless pit of jobless poverty.
Remember, for the rich, poverty rocks, and it's just one more college kid that can scrub toilets for nothing.
I think the word for this new American reality is globalism, and just like the militarisation of the police, America is slowly becoming the very same thing it invaded, napalmed, couped, and bankrupted the world over.

It would be kinda cute to be able to have a somewhat intellectual conversation with the help on occasion.
Last month, bad payrolls resulted in a quick dump and pump. Bad news being good. This month good payrolls has given us the 'pump' and now all that's missing is the 'dump.' It's surprising they have held off the dump for this long, usually it takes only an hour or two to round-trip aftyer the initial reaction.
Unless the market has suddenly started reacting 180 degrees from how it has acted the last year, then we are almost guaranteed the dump before the end of the day. Then again, the pattern has become so predictable, wouldn't it be just like them to fake out all the shorts today and just send it higher. I get nervous when a pattern gets too predictable...
Least we have the IRS to bust all peeps w small bizness' depositing less than $10,000 EVER as a reason to seize all their cash. Same goes with the rest of u making less than 10K pay checks.
Interesting and one can't deposit over 10K either as mobile deposit accepts no more than 10K per day in deposits.
How conveniently cornered. I remember my parents tripping on these laws so the gov could snoop on ur deposits or withdrawals...... never thought it would lead to this... But I guess we r all criminals if we can't transfer our billions around to black holes of who knows where the hell that money went....
