American Cops Are More Heavily Armed than Front Line U.S. Combat Soldiers In Active War Zones

The police in Ferguson have better armor and weaponry than my men and I did in the middle of a war. And Ferguson isn’t alone — police departments across the US are armed for war.

Constitutional and civil rights lawyer John Whitehead notes that homeland security officers within the U.S. have three times as much ammunition as front-line soldiers in Afghanistan (and possess a type of ammunition that is banned in war zones).

Many combat veterans have since pointed out that the SWAT officers are more heavily armed and outfitted than they themselves were while patrolling the streets of Iraq or Afghanistan.
Indeed, many veterans have noted that American police are more heavily armed than they were when serving on the front line (click for 9 tweets which I can't figure out how to embed).

most cops are so fat they can't run very far with no gear ? we actually used to have PT requirements , but apparently not any longer. ever notice how many obese cops there are and fatties ? pathetic but hey good bennies and retirement right ?
I'm guessing here, but I'd bet there is PT requirements in large cities, until you reach a certain age. After that, it's ok to be an out of shape turd. In smaller towns, and suburbs, they'll take what they can get because they pay for shit.

I've been seeing a LOT of that shit lately myself. I worked out hardcore and naturally for 5 years in my early 20's and I can spot a roider a mile away. Just in the past two weeks I've seen two roider cops at restaurants eating with their buds. Don't they piss test these guys anymore?

The thing is, it has been a slow creep. So for awhile, yep, America did kick some ass in every way possible. Now it's just been a slow climb down the ladder. We got to keep our amazing TV's, our badass entertainment/propaganda shows and slogans, to the point that the average American, believes it. I'm amazed really at how obtuse everyone is to the slow descent towards hell. Idiots? Nah. Just hopeful optimistics who can't see the pot boiling.
