IN the USA and now in the UK they are all over the place and if you read the horror stories in the UK about them, you will understand why they are banned here.

I ought to post a photo of the sign at a highway rest stop promising a "foot long around pizza" for $5.00 ($6.00 with pepperoni). For the math-impaired, that's less than four inches across!

The rest of the story:
One empty space was originally a school of etiquette, then a marriage counselor's office, then a state sponsored anger management clinic, and finally a martial arts facility. Owner died when he took on a robber with a knife. Robber's buddy had a gun.
Second empty space started as a bookstore selling eclectic titles, specializing in classical and libertarian authors. When traffic declined, they switched to do it yourself and self-sufficiency texts. When that slowed, they tried selling adult mags, but then the Internet shut that down. Lastly it was a community organizer's office, where folks could learn how to scam the system. And you know what became of that guy.

yah, the organizer got a rent controlled room in a big white house. his new owners treat him better than his grand-pappy's owners. They hardley ever beat him, but he still has to go out to the green fields and pick up little white balls, kinda like his gpappy. He would say he's better off than his gpappy cuz his new owners never want to sleep with his wife and he gets to stay in the big house.

I recognize that sign by the establishments and phone numbers. Located at Magnolia and Prospect in El Cajon, CA. Google map it and see for yourself! I'm pretty sure there are payday lenders and tatoo parlors pretty close by....
I noticed some other readers recognized those establishments. Did not know there were other ZH readers in EC. Wonder who submitted the pic??
