Jobless Claims Collapse Near 42 Year Low, But Texas Turmoils
Only once in the last 42 years have jobless claims been lower than this week's 264k print... Other than April 2000, this is the 'best' jobless claims print since 1973! Seems like ZIRP is well-warranted. But not everyone is loving it as Texas continues to turmoil (no matter how diversified the talking heads tell the people their economy is).
42-year low next week?
The last 2 times jobless claims reached this low... the stock market topped...
But Texas remains in trouble...

Bull shitsu
Unemployment 4%, here we come.
Cheered on by the 93 million season ticket holders. It's not like they have anything better to do. They sure as hell don't have jobs.
4%? Zero is the goalseek.
They are preparing for the TPP / America's enslavement....

Goldman Sachs Ted Cruz voted for it. I think Rand Paul did as well. Slime Rubio along with Graham-nesty dodge the vote. Evil scum.
Unemployment rate will go negative when everyone has three minimum wage part time jobs.
There are almost as many adults not working today as there were TOTAL full-time employed in the US in 1965. So all the Great Society did was create a whole second America of unproductive people, I mean Democrats. Win!
I'll repeat old saying....when there are no jobs, the 'new jobless claims" number will be ZERO.
The fact that this number is declining is, in fact directly correlated to the record 93 million non-employed.
I don't think the Algo's use this correlation
Who needs a job when Obama's got your back.
Day time TV reigns
nielson ratings? hmmm.
My last pay check was $9500 working 12 hours a week online. My sisters friend has been averaging 15k for months now and she works about 20 hours a week. I can't believe how easy it was once I tried it out. This is what I do... www.jobs-review.com
Yer friends sister can make that kind of money because she has no gag reflex.
Her lack of teeth also makes it more enjoyable for the customers
I'll give you $5.00 to Sod Off and go bother the libturds at HuffPost.
Where's the chart of welfare claims? Instead of the S&P, put up the number of people on welfare!
Oh, and yes, social security and medicare are WELFARE...be sure to include those folks.
PS. You SS and MC folks...YOU ARE NOT "OWED" A FUCKEN THING...just because you "paid in" a dollar, THAT DOES NOT ENTITLE YOU TO UNLIMITED DOLLARS IN RETIREMENT. FU.
LABOR SHORTAGE!!!!!
We're gonna DIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I haven't seen any effects in the Houston, Dallas, or Austin-San Antonio areas. It's all in the Eagle-Ford in South Texas and Permian in West Texas. The Houston shipping channel is as busy as ever and the refineries are not slowing down at all. The oil service providers are based in Houston, but the layoffs are in the field. The workers being laid off mostly don't live in Houston.
Another convenient tool in the Fed's bag of tools...used to fix the price of gold. Well done...
You can't file for unemployment when you're working two other part time jobs.
But it is one more reason for the FED to make that risky, awe inspiring, 25 basis point raise in September. Full employment doncha know...
I can barely contain myself. The human drama is palpable.
With the economy running to a minimum baseline, there's no additional room to cut. But, that does not mean that labor conditions are poised to improve. We can bump along the bottom for a very long time (and will!).
many employers have employees sign employment agreements which prohibit unemployment benefits or structure the job so that they will never qualify. unemployment benefits are a thing of the past.....they hurt profits.
back to work, slave.
Its against the law to do that. stop making crap up...
My wife worked a temp job for Aerotek once. They are a temp agency for STEM workers and they did exactly what you just said. They try to trap you in their world by reporting to unemployment any refusal to take the next job they offer.
They only way to get away from them is to find your own job or just walk away empty handed.
LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It will be adjusted to double the number next month and nobody in MSM will say shit.
Just waiting for the day when an Edward Snowden will defect from the MSM.
Dare to dream.
this is very good news.l
how do i know? steve liesman just said it was, and he never lies.
"steve liesman just said it was, and he never lies."
Uh, yeah. Hence the surname.
the more people unemployed long term, the less number of employed people losing their jobs to claim unemployment
This is GREAT news.
I'm going out and buy a second home and a new car.
My consumer confidence has never been higher.
And no, I do not feel manipulated in any way.
While you're at it, find a home with a 3-car garage so that you can do your part by buying 3 new cars.
You may want to do a revision on that CC.
so says Pravda....USSR had Zeropercent!
Hopefully Austin will burn.
No one left to file!
0% will never fly and won't be achieved since even the dumb headline readers will put 2 and 2 together and think hey it says everyone is working but i know plenty of people that aren't including myself.
"Turmoil" is now a verb. I'm hoping that's just a sarcastic ZH thing. I don't ever want to see that word used as a verb anywhere else.
for real number you need to add 93million unemployed that have given up looking for work.
Everybody's working except me.
-1% unemployment is near, what with the recovery going so well.
I have been wanting to ask this question and now is the perfect time...that 93 million out of workforce thing...does that include the entire population including children, or just age 16 and over?
The BLS says they count 16 and over.
About 46 million Americans are over 65. About 19 million people are in college and 17 million are in high school. About 14 million people under 65 are disabled. And many millions aren’t working because they are taking care of their disabled relatives, or their children, their grandchildren or their parents.
You mean "disabled"...
Not sure you all understand the 93 million number. That's the total of working age people not working. This includes parents staying at home to raise children, college kids, people in prisons and other institutions, etc.
If you want to use a number, pick a real one.
Need to post a correction. It doesn't include institutionalized people. It does include 16 year olds though. So, juniors in high school. It also includes grandma not in a home.
Peter Schiff's analyis of the latest jobs report is dead on. He also talks about meeting Bernanke for a photo op...
http://www.globaldeflationnews.com/peter-schiff-says-bernanke-really-bel...
According to “people in the know”, the 93 million is anyone who has trade skills and wants a raise. We all know that seeking a raise is “financial terrorism” and so they are set free from their jobs giving them the opportunity to take advantage of Yellen’s advice, “to just become rich”!
Rich people have an option to be employed or unemployed, which ever gets them the most free money for investment purposes.
After all, it will trickle down.
