To be fair, I was upset by the cop asking the white dude questions too. A level playing field though presupposes both being treated the same, no matter what others of a similar skin color do. They had to respond to a call about a young black male with cornrows carrying a long gun down the street and go make sure he wasnt inteding to open fire on people. Washoe County recently got a new Sheriff, Chuck Allen, who is former Nevada Highway Patrol. He actually supports legal open carry unlike the Sheriff who was running the department at the time when the video of the black guy was filmed.

I'm ignoring the race aspect of this. While it may be legal to walk around with an AR, an AK, a Barrett 82A1 CQ 50 BMG, it just doesn't make sense in a city. You are asking to be harassed by every police officer, and may even be tracked and ambushed/assassinated by a thug loooking for better hardware. I'm all for conceal carry and open carry to a point, but you lost tactical advantage when you announce to the world around you that you are armed.
Having said that, I will not travel into the city without 90+rounds and a carbine in my vehicle. I will only park in secure areas when doing so. I don't even like obvious tactical everyday bags/wallets/clothing. It just screams "kill me first" if you are a bad guy. All those jackets, shirts and hats with velcro for nametapes are just stupid. There is a great lesson for the black community here. It is this. If you do what a cop says, you generally won't get shot. Even if you are carrying an AR-15. See how that works. You totally miss the consequences of the stupid approach you attempt to justify. The following is so trivial, only a moron (or someone who refuses to think) can fail to understand.
#1: regular folks tend to follow laws and respond to threats.
#2: criminals tend not to follow laws or respond to threats.
#3: when (blatantly and necessarily unconstitutional) laws are made against "bearing arms", regular folks tend to obey those invalid, unconstitutional laws and the threats attached.
#4: criminals keep their guns, and in fact remove identifying any features they can.
#5: therefore, when criminals try harm or steal-from regular folks, most of those regular folks are not prepared to defend themselves (that is, kill the criminal in self-defense).
#6: the natural consequence of this is obvious. the criminals are vastly bolder and more successful than if everyone in the entire population (who wanted to) was armed.
#7: then morons like you turn around and evade the reasons, and pretend we should treat ALL black people badly, and ALL white people less badly... completely independent of whether the individuals involved are good, bad, innocent, guilty, aggressive or meek.
The solution is for everyone (who desires) to arm themselves. And when they see someone harming or stealing... blow their brains out. You will find, in very short order, that the pile of dead scumbags grows as the number of violent crimes fall.

No actually the real danger for the police is that they act in cohesion with the Federal government against the populace as a whole.

I'm guessing the truth doesn't matter to most people but in the first video the guy called the police before he went out with the weapon and told them where he would be walking and what he would be doing as a protest to something the state AG said in a court hearing. The police officer who stopped him was also a friend of his and if you watch the entire video (not just miss leading clip here) he explains that. In the latter case he did not call the police ahead to inform them of his protest. I'm not saying what the cops did was right (it obviously wasn't) but the two people would have been treated the same had they taken the same actions.

This open carrying is stupid. Maybe that's the right but that's also a threat to everyone else. I'm not saying you can't carry a gun around, just be a civilized person, keep your weapon in a bag or something.

I must say, I consider it much more polite to give visible warnings to predators so they can steer clear and not start fights with creatures prepared for them.
To be sure, there are benefits to keeping guns hidden. That way you invite human predators to attempt to prey upon you (the armed human) just as frequently as unarmed humans prey. And as a result, human predators are more likely to be exterminated when you pull out your gun when threatened and blow them away.
That's good for "everyone else", because it reduces the number of human predators wandering around looking for human prey. However, by not wearning your warning visibly, you do invite more assaults upon yourself, which is not especially enjoyable.
In summary, both ways have their advantages, but I prefer everyone openly wear guns, because then humans who consider being predators see everyone is prepared for them, and decide to spend their lives in other more productive ways.
PS: To carry a gun is NOT a threat. You can probably kill more people in a shorter time with your car than you can with a typical gun. Does that mean you consider everyone with a car is a threat? Seriously? Maybe you should rethink your attitude!
