There is no such thing as an honest politician & if you believe so, you are obviously ignorant.
I will admit that honest politicians are as rare as hen's teeth, but there are a few notable ones, like Ron Paul... Any politician that is honest is marginalized, rebuked and portrayed as a lunatic by the MSM and entrenched political parties...
After the hangings and return to rule of law the next batch will remember that it's a public service.

Two words..."Term limits"-- but alas, just a dream.
They actually make things worse. There no accountability in the last term.
Far better is immediate accountability -- so remove the 17th amendment and go back the the state system to senators can be recalled immediately, and for reps, well, either a fast recall system or (far more important IMO) end gerrymandering that creates safe districts. Of course both of these require the support of the people they would remove from power in order to happen so they won't.
I don't know what form it will take, but there will be a reset of the government somehow, be it next year or one hundred years. My guess is it'll go the way of Rome where it's not economically or politically feasible to govern at the federal level.
These fucking career politicians are destroying our republic. You can't give any one single person power long enough for them to be influenced by future prospects. Some of these polical fuckers have been ruling over us for 40-50 years? That's crazy, men have given their lives to prevent this. Term limits are natural anyway, they come by law or by natural hangings.
I'll take honest competence for 100, Alex-oh, wait.
So, I guess..."I have a dream"...
No. It is that simple. You were right the first time, term limits would fix much of the corruption. Won't happen till the hangings.

I’m now 38 and about 1/3 of my friends has serious health problems. Today I was with a friend who needs surgery on thursday that gives him a 50/50 chan e of survival. Saturday we have a funeral.

What good are term limits when you have sons following in the footsteps of fathers and wives in the footsteps of husbands?
If I burned out just after I started working, does that mean I'm exceptionally honest and competent?
The image is a good representation of the broader labour market (and I will even admit - through clenched teeth - that it's possible to find honest and competent people at the lower levels of the bureaucracy), but there is no need for the 'honest' region of the X-axis in the market for political vermin.
The evidence for this: find a politician who ever burned out. (Caveat: the burnout must be from excessive workload, not excessive narcotics and paedo/homo'trannie orgies).
