Are You Guilty Of Crimes Against Young Americans?
Submitted by Bill Bonner via Bonner & Partners,
A Country for Old Men
Billie Boy, I don’t like where your head is lately. Your writing depicts our debt situation as being caused by baby boomers when it is the Fed and the government who never listen or do what the public desires…
Here’s another:
You are beginning to sound like “Obuma” in his class warfare dialogue. I am one of those old people who is not benefiting from the greed and lack of morals evident on Wall Street and in particular in Washington, DC. Leave me out of it and do not blame all old people for the actions of the elites in DC and state governments…
To clarify, we are not blaming innocent beneficiaries… or innocent victims. And we readily admit we couldn’t get a conviction for willful larceny. Most of the people involved stole unwittingly. They were just playing the piano; how could they know what was going on in the back room?
Few of us baby boomers exercised much direct influence on public policy. But most of us voted… and our elected representatives put in place a corrupt system that favors old people and old businesses at the expense of young ones.
What Happened to Creative Destruction?
Everyone knows that most of the wealth gains of the “recovery” have gone to the One Percent. That those people are also old is more than a coincidence. Most large political donors are old. Most politicians are old. Most voters are old. Most special interests are old. Most media owners are old. The entire system is old.
Over time, people find ways to game the system – any system – to get more of what they want with less risk and less effort. They use the government – the only institution that can force people to do its bidding – to help them. According to a study we cited on Friday, the U.S economy would be three times larger today if Federal regulations had remained at their 1949 level.
Had the rules remained as free and easy as they were when we were born, in other words, young people today would have a much higher chance of earning as much as their parents did. Another study says those regulations seem to be working. “The business sector of the United States […] appears to be getting ‘old and fat,’” says the Brookings Institution. Entrenched businesses have been able to raise the ramparts even higher!
The business sector is getting old and fat because it has managed to stifle competition and stop the process of what Austrian-American economist Joseph Schumpeter called “creative destruction.”
According to Schumpeter, the process – whereby new innovations constantly replace outdated ones – was the “essential fact of capitalism.” But in 1992 – in the supposed epicenter of capitalism – the share of U.S. firms older than 16 years was 23%. Twenty years later, the share of old firms had grown by almost one-half to 34%. And the share of private sector workers employed in these old businesses increased from 60% to 72%. Employment in younger firms declined.
The number of new firms went down. And the number of jobs went down, too. The only increase being of old people working in old firms.
A Disinherited Generation
Old businesses get loans, bailouts, revenues, and profits. Old people get jobs, pills, and medical services. They also get Social Security benefits. And when they leave this vale of tears, they also leave behind them more than $210 trillion in unpaid bills.
As economist Laurence Kotlikoff recently told the Senate Budget Committee, that’s the size of the current “fiscal gap” – the difference between Washington’s projected financial obligations and the present value of all projected future tax revenues.
Young people have been “disinherited,” says the Manhattan Institute:
This is the first generation of young Americans that our government systemically disfavors and the first generation whose prospects are lower than those of their parents.
Disinherited?
That suggests they start out even. But their parents and grandparents have put them in the hole.
Robbed? Cheated? Scammed? Flimflammed? Rolled?
Take your pick.

As soon as I saw the title, I knew who wrote it. I'm surprised he took a couple of days off.
Here comes the hate from the boomers in 3, 2,1...
...as opposed to the constant WHINING from the "youngers" ???
The results of this debt bubble are not going to be pretty.
I am the oldest of the millennials and there are certainly some whiners but the baby boomers don’t seem at all concerned about being the first generation to have it better than their children and grandchildren.
Don’t get me wrong there are many in that generation I respect but as a whole I don’t have a lot of hope for their legacy.
That all said I think the powers that be would want nothing more than to keep the generations blaming each other and at each others throats.
Fraud is Good for the Economy....
http://galeinnes.blogspot.com/2015/02/the-velocity-of-fraud.html
Fair's going to have nothing to do with it when the pinch begins. The boomers will get what they want until such time they lose their demographic advantage (they begin to die off). Then they won't any more. At which point, there won't be much left. Just in time for MY retirement.
And no, I'm not betting on having Social Security available to me. Sure, it might still be around, but it will have means testing, the benefits age will be raised, the real value of the benefit will be much lower and all sorts of limitations put on it, effectively reducing it to a triviality in the overall makeup of my financial old age.
Fortunately, I'm working until I die (and, probably so are you) so I don't worry about it much.
The 'Generation Gap' Feud that Dictated the Destiny of the World
"The elites of the 'Greatest Generation' run the show as well as those from all subsequent generations whom they favor."
Young people just don't have the same work ethic we boomers had when we were the young ones. Boomers rebuilt the world after ww2, millenials won't work dirty or low paying jobs.
You youngins want a fair go, give it a fair go.
"This is the first generation of young Americans that our government systemically disfavors"
Hasn't this guy ever heard of Antietam or the Argonne?
to b fair the boomers they did rebuild everything just how they wanted it after ww2. But bcos they never had a penny to rub together they borrowed everything from future generations to do it.
I don't think it was Boomer that Rebuilt anything after WWII.
I think you got the generation wrong.
Question Authority is the Boomers, Turn on & Drop out, Ohio State Protests, Anti-war Protests... then they must have joined Wall Street & Corporations to become Yuppies.
Of course some went to church, Vietnam, and worked hard all their lives too.
Drugs, Sex, Rock and Roll, Feminism, Protests, Hitchhiking, Communes,... Alternative Energy.
And a lot of great products must have come out. They went to the moon, and spun off calculators, computers, TV Dinners, Franchises, Best services Industries in the world.
The boomers were the ones being born after WWII jackass. Did you rebuild in you diapers? If so, then rebuild again in your diapers gramps.
The world was not rebuilt in 1946 dear youngin, ask your oldies.
This sums it up for me as well however I find it hard to hate a whole generation simply because there were so many children born at one time. If any blame be placed, shouldn't it be on those who created them?
The fact is, society HAD to adjust massively to deal with such a sudden large number of people. Modern day farming was geared up just to feed them. Schools, housing, industry... everything had to respond to this. You and I were simply born in a less favorable time. Shitty cosmic luck. We just have to deal with what we have been given. The animosity for me is that the oligarchs are preventing me from providing for myself. That is my only focus of my hatred, all else is distraction.
Miffed
The majority of the country has been manipulated and propagandized into abandoning the family / community and replacing it with the state. The older generations got most of the benefit of the debt bubbles, but they will spend the last part of their life living with the consequences and probably have a harder time adjusting. The younger generation also have spent most of their life living in the 'good' times, and will be the first to face the consequences of the debt based economy collapse. They will most likely be the most flexible and resilient in coming up with solutions since they have no other choice.
You are right though with your last comment, the generations blaming each other is exactly what the rulers want and it solves none of our (common person) problems.
That is my biggest fear. Similar to the political power in Germany blaming the jews for their debt bubble popping so will the powers that be here turn the rage of a nation over a ruined economy on the relatively weak. That is not to call the boomers weak for any other reason but the reality imposed by old age.
Yep, the biggest battle between good and evil (read, freedom and continued slavery) at this time will be directing the coming rage of the mob towards the right target. Either centralized power rightly gets the blame and conditions improve after the anger simmers down, or the mob is divided and goes to war with itself in which case, things get much worse after the smoke and dust clears. Will be a very interesting future for all around to participate.
Get off your fat asses and learn the grift, snot nosed whiners.
It's the corrupt plutocrats, not "the boomers".
I assist my son and his family every way I can knowing that with off-shoring and such that the rug has been pulled out on America's working and middle classes.
If you're gonna suck 'divide and conquer' cock it's your choice.
As a Gen X'er, I'm watching the melee between boomers and millennials from the sidelines with a large bag of popcorn.
But what you just stated pertains to something boomers seem to have a hard time wrapping their heads around... I hear variants on "But I help out my kids" and "I donate to charities" right before hearing "don't generalize" or, in your case, "suck 'divide and conquer' cock".
In their locust-like numbers Boomers as a group have swayed and continue to sway policies in their favor, sometimes at the expense of future generations. I'm certain you're a wonderful human being and an extraordinary exception. But your generation as a whole sucks donkey dick for doing this.
Welcome to the world.
Adapt or die.
(sympathy between ..........aw ferget it.)
I think we can go back to the panicky Depression Era WW2 Greatest Generation. When they got their FDR on, the die was cast for the teat suckers to multiply. Now, its time to divide.
FORWARD SOVIET!
"Here comes the hate from the boomers in 3, 2,1..."
Clearly ZH is inhabited by quite a few boomers, and they sure dont like it when you criticize them standing by idly for decades while what was once a great country was turned into a dystopian, socialist nightmare. Poor Boomers... it must have been someone elses fault right?
My Boomer generation kept voting Democrat forcing the Right into playing tha same corrupt politics. If you can't win, might as well profit. The Illinois Theory of Politics: "There's enough for everybody, why keep sending each other to jail?" "Money for everyone who wants to play ball".
The only REAL political dispute anymore is who gets to sign the checks.
Say, where did Obama learn his politicking anyway?
FORWARD SOVIET!
A divisive article withouth substance. Bonner you suck!
The entire article is crap - with statements like this: the U.S economy would be "three times" larger today if Federal regulations had remained at their 1949 level.
show me three times - how / why?
example: most regulated business in the USA is Banking and they still commit fraud and steal everyone blind including the government and make $20 Billion a year -
most entitlements were in place before boomers came of age - tell me with lower discretionary income as far as the horizon - how is anyone going to save for retirement? these people will die without SS - who are thirty years old today
figure it out - $1 million yields 3% at best based on LT yields or $30,000 - how will they survive in thirty years on that? - if they make $100,000 and save $15,000 /yr which is impossible with a family - even with gains it is not $1 million
so tell me your opinion again
If committing crimes against young Americans is wrong, I don't want to be right.
You likely feel this way because as an old and embittered right-winger, you can no longer ethnically identify with a growing portion of young Americans.
The sentiment may prove mutual.
You should be buying leather products so's you can boil 'em and eat them in a pinch.
" a growing portion of young Americans."
You mean Bastards right?? Young Bastards, is the proper term... Fear not, they will be thinned, this time is not different.
Quite the proliferation of pavement apes across Murrica. I feel a quell coming.
Fuck off pussy race traitor Scandinavian.
Here's a link to Larssen's G+ page. The guy always bring up the same rehashed garbage. He fits the Hasbara Troll profile to a T.
https://plus.google.com/111672606190072635181/posts
Someone last week mentioned how consistent the clown is, he was right on target.
Larrsen - You and your ethnic rascist shit again. Your almost as bad as Francis with Jews (AAIB screen name now I guess). I am going to create a new Avatar or me holding a purple martian baby. No, rascism didnt go away because we got a negro in the White House but as far as political concerns, its about number five of political priorities for the population. Becoming Mexico in a nutshell is first.
Generational warfare is a waste of time. The biggest budget breakers in the US
1) Defense spending
2) Trade imbalance
3) Health care
Number one and three are being slowly cut and number two is just starting to gain political resistance (from Senators more invested domestically no doubt).
Empire building and using monetary tools to delay reckoning has derailed the country. Still waiting to see how many times the train rolls to calculate the total victims over the next few years.
I liked a comment here that said that "chance favors the prepared." While many people can't hedge much monetarily they can hit the gym and eat properly (chicken, romaine and beans are cheap).
The ultimate hedge is your health! If you have digestive issues which are very common (like Diverticuitis and Candida Overvrowth) they can be solved by diet changes, moderating habits and supplements.
90% of mental health issues are caused by digestive issues. If your not absorbing minerals in your gut to metabolize into chemicals, your brain will lack them. The information can be Googled.
If your healthy you will likely overcome and adapt. Boomers had the best time in this country for decades but will see the worst at the end when many are too old to do anything about it. For the majority, state run retirement homes are going to really suck, worse than now.
I sure hope you don't have kids.
Robbed? Cheated?
No. With automation, those with low IQ/no skills are no longer needed. If they will stop breeding, the problem will solve itself.
How many social programs were created off the backs of the Boomers?
How many of these programs were in place before their generation and how many are in place now as the Boomers leave the workforce?
A shitton, that's how many.
The FSA has been feeding off of the labors of the Boomers and sucking up the wealth of the nation (along with the crony politicians). The majority of Boomers have been productive over their lifetimes. Those in the FSA have not.
p.s. I'm not a Boomer and no Millennials or Gen Xs were hurt in posting this rant.
>>How many social programs were created off the backs of the Boomers?
How many of these programs were in place before their generation and how many are in place now as the Boomers leave the workforce?
A shitton, that's how many.<<
They created those programs for themselves. The so-called "greatest generation" was the original FSA.
Actually most of the jobs over the past decade have been in the low IQ/no skills department. High skilled job demand has been quite minimal. There's a glut of high skilled/high IQ workers, but its relatively hard to hire low-skilled for what employers want to pay.
Not from what I've seen. Those earning low wages/unemployed are no-low skilled, uneducated (or a 'degree' in a worthless major from a worthless 'college'), or plain stupid and lazy.
The words of Bill Bonner:
The perfect example of "Divide and Conquer" propaganda.
Caveat Emptor.
Most of the finger pointing in the "generation war" comes from which group?
What's the big secret? For the last 40 years, millenial's parents continue to vote for asshats like Pelosi, Reid, et al who give them benefits and free shit at their expense. Sorry little Sally, I need free helathcare and other benefits that you have to pay for because .. well .. becuase I need them that's why! Now fuck off and deal with it.
www.traderzoo.mobi
The real problem is people of all generations continuing to accept a outside authority over their lives which steals from them and rewards being unproductive. It's not a conservative / liberal problem, it's a problem with giving corrupt psychopaths control over our lives.
I don't see enlistees of the FSA as members of a generation, be it Boomer, GenX, Millenial or whathaveyou. I do not view them as participating in the productive activities, innovations or advancements of their generation(s) (except maybe for rioting).
They (the FSA enlistees) do not provide any worthwhile contribution to society or to their generation and only drain the resources and wealth of those who do.
That being said, I understand and believe that we should help those people out who are going through tough times but that help should not last in perpetuity. tough love.
The youngsters will probably start the beginning of the end.
If the youngsters don't get cracking and start working, moving out, getting married, buying cars and houses, and having babies, they will be the beginning of the end.
Neocons are also Austrian, it seems.
Just look at all the creative ways they are into the Destruction & Reconstruction cycle.
Young people put Obama in. Live with it. I am laughing all the way to the bank, opps, I just peed in my Depends.
Funny how people claim that voting matters when it suits.
Beat me to the punch...
You can have a 35-year old voted into office, and he / she would continue propagating the interests of those who got him / her elected.
Who voted the Fed in? I'm pretty sure none of us did. Pretty sure those who did weren't even American.
Wrong. Billionaire psychopathic scum bags put Obama in office. And Bush before him, and Clinton before him, etc. etc.
Bwahahahhahahhahahhahah...
Putting the blame on young people is a fucking joke. You all shit for brain up voters and the douche bag poster need to read up, try table 2.
http://cis.org/Census-Bureau-November-2012-Supplement
Then try math.
12.3 million people between 18-29 years old voted for Obama.
22.3 million people between 30-49 years old voted for Obama.
18.6 million people between 50-64 years old voted for Obama
13.0 million people between 65+ years old voted for Obama.
Looks to be plenty of blame to go around, not just the young.
GET
A
FUCKING
CLUE
Whatever the hell age I am, how do they know who I voted for?
You voted? hahahhahahhahahahhahahahah
You deserve your chains.
The author fails to distinguish between entitlements and policies that push wealth to the top. There are very different causes for these, IMO.
When it comes to the latter, the politicians are boomers themselves, have large stock portfolios, own multiple homes, etc, and so do all of their friends and families. Typical to any bubble in history, the elites in the government gain the most. And when the bubble starts to fall apart, they step in to save it because they want to keep the proceeds of the bubble. That this benefits others who also made monehy in the bubble is just a byproduct.
The author may have a point on the entitlements side, but saving asset prices would have happened with or without the boomers making a stink of it.
The author fails to realize that EVERY problem that exists within THE SYSTEM that exists today has its roots in the illicit pillars of:
- banking
- MSM
- political activism
- corrupt jurisprudence
The rest of the sheep (no matter how one wishes to slice & dice demographics), are just actors within THE SYSTEM...
So ~ find out who 'controls' the power nodes of the power pillars I described above, & you have your finger on the problem...
The rest of this bickering is just nonsense... & so basically the author can go stick his head in the sand for all I care...
Funny how the Boomer "yuppies" voted in record numbers for Reagan and his low tax platform while they were in thier prime earning years and now vote for Progs that are all for taxing the living shit out of GenX and spawn of boomer Millenials to fund their fucking retirements.
You missed that they also had the politicians raid the Social Security Lockbox to pay for shit and now demand they get the money they paid in.
"SS lockbox"--that is hilarious.
Gen X?
Irrelevant to the conversation and much of anything else.
No prospects, no dough, no future.
I'd heard that Gen x was the first generation slated to not do as well as, or better than, their parents. That shit rolls downhill, no doubt.
Why do you keep on letting this asshat post here?
If you think that the older generations weren't taken in by the lying politicians, you're wrong. They were taken in just like all the young Obama voters were taken in by the lies of the elites. If they were guitly of anything, it was not paying attention because they were too busy working to provide their kids all the shit the younger generationj takes for granted.
You goddamn kids get off my lawn!
* The young pay Medicare, SS taxes, but they don't and won't get anything in return. Why would anybody pay hundreds of thousands to slightly impove health of an old lady instead of giving them to a 25-year-old girl who has a newborn baby?
* American parents kick out kids of home because the government guarantees rich retirement, but in most other countries parents cherish their kids forever until they are feeble and need kids' help.
* Colleges are 10 times more expensive than 50 years ago.
...
"colleges are 10 times more expensive"
to fund the pensions of the unionized staff- Hence this article about the Boomers ass-raping the spawn of Boomer
I do not recall any guarantee of rich retirement. I recall only an offer to safely hold the money until when I was older. That lie was bad enough.
But rich retirement? No, that came from the crooks in the investment rackets.
Your saved money has been stolen by politicians to embellish the storefront of the US economy, which has been rotting inside for years.
Now, you expect somebody, a young guy or an immigrant, to give you your pension money.
Universities are totally free or almost free in most European countries.
Too bad you can't figure that out and attend one instead of whinning.
David Bowie was responsible for the first crime against Young Americans.
Obozo is inviting more young Muslims to settle in the US.
This time from Burma.
Obozo is betraying you.
Old vs. Young
Rich vs. Poor
White vs. Black
Women vs. Men
Queer vs. Normal
Pretty clear divide and conquer..so Who benefits?
The system has to be rigged against the young or else they would easily crush old, weak, feeble people. All of society is set up to keep young people from ever being able to compete fairly against old people. Zuckerberg may be a piece of shit for a lot of reasons, but he had that much right - young people are smarter. They work harder. They have more energy, endurance, strength, vitality. As you age, you wither and die.
Everything past 30 is a nose dive towards the grave. 25 probably.
I think that the US (with Obama as the front man) realizes they need to increase the tax base. Who knows, maybe one or two of these immigrants will create the next iPhone.
I don't know the math but I'll bet that two immigrants earning 60-80K are worth more in tax dollars than one old-timer earning 120-160K.
What about Americans who have been displaced from the tech sector? Many of them could create the next iPhone, but for lack of industry exposure, aren't even being given the chance.
As for 'math', the government takes a higher percentage overall from the higher income earners, than 2 lower income earners. So your bet really isn't all that correct.
.dup - that is happening to me more and more often.
Bonner can be a real ass. This old vs young crap plays right into the marxist's tactics.
We in the "older" generation, that was once the younger generation, paid and paid and paid thru our entire lives into the SS "trust fund". The govt stole it when they consolidated the budgets way back when.
This isn't an old vs young thing, it's a criminal thing. How about this instead. Instead of printing money and giving to banks, take back a few trillion and distribute it those who have paid-in their entire lives, plus real interest.
Then the govt can go fuck themselves.
Uh-huh.
Remember how SS was projected to soon bankrupt in 1981? How they said they were going to fix Social Security for all time???
Maybe this will refresh your memory:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IvlOs8Glk1U
It was a lie. Everything about it was a lie.
You paid into the trust fund, you say?
No you didn't.
You paid income tax. Your employer paid an excise tax on your labor. Nothing more. Every other thing you've been told is a lie. The US Supreme Court said in Helvering V Davis in 1937:
"Title VIII, as we have said, lays two different types of tax, an "income tax on employees", and "an excise tax on employers."...The proceeds of both taxes are to be paid into the Treasury like internal-revenue taxes generally, and are not earmarked in any way."
Both these statements are in the 2nd paragraph of the decision.
You can find them here:
http://www.ssa.gov/history/supreme1.html
But you paid premiums for this insurance and are rightfully due?
No you didn't.
There is no insurance and never was. There was a tax.
This was made perfectly clear in 1960 in Fleming v Nestor:
"OF SPECIAL IMPORTANCE IN THIS CASE IS
THE FACT THAT ELIGIBILITY FOR BENEFITS, AND THE AMOUNT OF SUCH
BENEFITS, DO NOT IN ANY TRUE SENSE DEPEND ON CONTRIBUTION TO THE
PROGRAM THROUGH THE PAYMENT OF TAXES"
http://www.ssa.gov/history/nestor.html
But... Great Society? 'You know in your heart he is right"? Boomers tipped the campaign away from Goldwater.
But... But... Social Security has nothing to do with the Deficit? Payroll contributions go into the trust fund?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ihUoRD4pYzI
Baby Boomers voted for what they wanted to hear. It was a lie.
But, but, we didn't know!!!
Except you did.
You (collectively) were told the truth in 1964...and rejected it.
You were told the truth in 1980...and rejected it.
You were told the truth in 1984...and rejected it... preferring the lie recorded above.
But....I thought it really had been fixed!!!
Why?
It certainly wasn't this:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mPIVI0CbCmg
I voted for Perot. He was right. Not just right, but even prophetic.
Watch the infomercial and ask yourself if he did not describe today, with accuracy. He did it in 1992.
But the boomers were firmly in control in 1992. Instead we got Clinton...which has proven harder to cure than clamidiya.
Now...tell me again why the boomers are not to blame?
Tell me again how the people who were not even born when these things were debated should be on the hook...
Tell me again how those who voted in the politicians who created, perpetuated, and worsened the problem should be off the hook.
Explain it to me in a way that doesn't sound like a cop out.
Sorry.
I opposed it all, and they got my money anyway for 35 years.
But the buck stops with me.
For thousands of years, when the men grew too old to support themselves or help their family they would 'Go Hunting' and never return.
When I can no longer support myself it will be time to go ocean fishing in a small dinghy during hurricane season.
It is not right for the children to talk about responsibility while the old whine about, "But he said..."
Gcjohn - You make some good points with your rant, but to be fair I wager less than .001% of the population understood how banking had captured government.
Or how about the damage that could be caused by imbalanced trade, though there were those protests in Seattle about it in the mid nineties or so. Apathy is part of generational and government overgrowth cycles. At the evolutionary core excess draws predators and we all are learning or being reminded of this the hard way.
"Those that dont learn from history are doomed to repeat it."
- George Santayana
As for the fishing thing in the hurricane screw that. When I start to ahit my pants or lose my mind I am going off the grand canyon like Evil Caneval without a parachute. Think Ill pick up some peyote on the way.
I'll YouTube it out for ad revenues for the kiddies to inherit. Bet I'll get a billion hits too. Got to put it on 1000 Ways to Die as well for a chuckle or two. I already told my fiance to expect this about forty years from now, no wasting away in my own shit while predators in a hospital suck the money out leaving nothing for my decendents.
Young need to realize that they have no friends in either party.
CEO's want the cheap tech worker fron India.
You're screwed.
In that regard - the guilty party is the people who stayed on board to transition their own jobs to India. What I don't get is why the CEO jobs weren't shipped offshore as well. That savings could account for hundreds if not thousands of grunt programmer positions.
All I can say is before you're provked into doing something unplanned.
Plan your moves because someone has plans for you.
Actually (i.e., frim my own experience in tech working), the cheap tech workers in India are only trained laborers: they do not know how to think about solving problems that no one here can explain to them.
To be effective, tech outsourcing requires highly skilled workers on location with the businesses they serve, who can translate business-language problems into tech-language problems and specifications, and then translate tech-language feedback into business language opportunities and constraints. Without this layer of analysis and synthesis, outsourcing is vastly more expensive than local tech, mainly in the cost of constant failure to deliver workable solutions.
Unfortunately, it is this layer of tech skill that the modern business manager (the lowest rung in the upper class of self-absorbed corporate corruption) mistrusts the most.
The Owners simply cannot understand the independent and creative thinkers who constantly show them up with new ideas and solutions. I mean, if a manager says "do this", then that is what they want to see being done (note: "being done" not "getting done"). Getting orders obeyed is the measure of success. All else is Fail.
Larry Ellison wants more cheap labor.
Old man Larry hates young Americans.
You've definitely got it right. Nothing worse than working for someone that wants you to go through the motions without reaching a real solution. God forbid you actually take the initiative to solve a problem in a way they did NOT prescribe, you're in deep shit. Too much personal experience with that. There is undoubtedly a cast of older management that cannot get to retirement or the grave fast enough - and I'm talking about fundamental science.
Just homo sapien evolution. We are on new ground and no one knows how we, with our animalism still in tact, will act. Unlike too many deer in the woods and not enough food, we have the ability (violence) along with nature to thin out the herd. Interesting times indeed. Rule of law will be tested.
I think that rule has failed its test.
Now, it is survival of the corruptest.
Yes, people such as David Rockefeller who claims that competition is a sin and whose banks have a purchased monopoly on creating all of the money required to put everyone else out of business are the bane of human existence.
They do it for spite. They do it because they are evil.
They do it because of what they are. This ought to clarify options.
H-1B has been used as a tool of oppression against America's young STEM elite. And even the older STEM elite have been caught up in the mess as well.
It's the Game of Holes and Poles; the older folks have the poles and the younger ones have the holes.
Two words from the Game of Thrones to describe the future relationship between the young and the old: `Kraster's Keep`. ;)
Keep buyin' guns and ammo bitchez.
Capitalism benefits those with Capital.
It benefits the rich rather than the poor and the old rather than the young.
We may need the Government to get more active in it's taxation and redistribution role to help the young.
Capitalism works best with competition.
It used to have that from Communism and those at the top feared Communism and revolution and so had to show Capitalism worked for everyone.
Now the competition is gone and the 0.1% can funnel everything up to themselves.
The older generation grew up with a more benign form of Capitalism and everyone was allowed to acquire some Capital.
But now Capitalism has no competition the younger generation are screwed.
The inherent trickle up effect of Capitalism:
a) Those with excess capital invest it and collect interest, dividends and rent.
b) Those with insufficient capital borrow money and pay interest and rent.
Which category do the young fall into a or b?
There has not been captialism in teh USA for many decades.

I am 26 years old and what really pisses me off is the fact that every paycheck I see money taken out for social security and medicare and know damn well that none of it will be there when I need it, hell our country will probably be bankrupt long before I hit retirment age. This alone SHOULD be enough to get people angry enough to take action but of course my generation couldn't care less much less understand wtf I'm talking about.
28 here.
You're 100% correct. Our generation isn't even capable of understanding the problem. This has to be the most aliterate, infantile social group in history.
Millennials will end up being a much more destructive force than the boomers ever were.
Nope...not me. I never had kids of my own, but I helped get the kids in my town a $500,000 skatepark built. Somebody had to do it.
a skatepark that will more likey not even be used by anyone but drug dealers.

The only way to get ahead is by doing something , secret, illegal, profitable.

You will die poor under a bridge no matter how hard you work.
The central bank and govt favors inside trading and fraudulent forms of speculation with counterfeit FIAT from the Fed.
If you are not an insider, you will not survive financially, the deck, the board, the rules, the laws, the money, the politicians and even the population is stacked against anyone who tries to make a life for themselves.
Although we all aspire to be successful, success is the exception, not the norm.
Hard work is rewarded with failure more often than not.
The more money you make, the more they will print, the more they will raise taxes, the more new taxes and expenses they will stuff down your throat, it simply is impossible for the traditional family structure ( a working man, stay home mother) to survive given todays civil structure, nowadays you need everyone in the family working around the clock (while ignoring the children if there are any) just to put food on the table.
The people who are not yet in that situation are living in a grand delusion that will come crashing down around them eventually, because no one is that lucky for that long.
It may surprise you to know that boomers are getting less back in social security than they paid in. Personally, both my parents died before they turned 65, and didn't see a dime of the money they paid in.

The US regime’s tentacles reached to the hart of American family many decades ago and ripped it apart replacing love, commitment, hard work and sacrifice, basic human values with paper money, shiny gold and drug or alcohol induced dementia to drown horrible feelings of utter betrayal of their own flesh and blood, betrayal of human solidarity and dignity.
Today's millennials are not more screwed up, hopeless, ignorant or confused about what's going on around them than the kids of 1950-ties.
Both generations followed idiotic suicidal government propaganda devoid of merit. In 1950-ties improvements of standard of living and suddenly open “opportunities” were caused solely by US ruling elites’ horrendous fear, of cold war Soviet type bloody revolution promised by greatest generation just decade before.
They made sure Americans were happy or else. Hedonistic, egoistic, individualistic propaganda, negating basic moral values of their parents, was continually blasted through airways, at home at school, in Church, at work rendered population confused, unable to defend or even recognize their own fundamental interests and social commitments.
Fast forward to now and young are again cheerleaders of policy of globalization that really means their own pauperization, enslavement and collapse of economy on which they depend. Now and then clueless youth act against their own interests and their community or family interests praising sick wet dreams of gluttony spewed by psychotic oligarchs.
Back then in 1950-ties, Americans were justifiably proud to work for their government so were soviet people. However, they both did not realize that they were being bribed and corrupted using all mighty dollar/rubel and propaganda of their righteousness while their governments were killing innocent people within their borders as well as all over the world and made state oligarchs in both countries insanely rich.
The baby boomer generation did not win their prosperity, they were given their fair opportunities only to shut them up and overlook unconstitutional un-American central command and control economic and political system developed and funded by DoD in form almost identical to that of Soviet Union. They looked away, silent witnesses of eroding basic constitutional rights and rampant state monopoly to detriment of future generations as long as they were doing OK.
Greatest generation, who faced horrors of unfettered capitalism and oligarchic rule was divided and conquered by power elites. The values of parents were separated from values of their baby boomer children in order to cause their political, social and moral weakness and now their great grandchildren are paying for their betrayal or extreme gullibility of believing in ultimate goodness of ruling class who wanted them dead all along.
Interesting take on so-called economic "opportunities” in the US in last 70 years in context of faith of American small business can be found at:

I have 4 kids. 2 are teenagers living under my roof and driving me fucking crazy. So, no, I frankly don't give a fuck about the young today. I'll pay for my own old folks home.
wow! you can afford four kids? You must be rich. I wonder if your kids will be able to afford four kids?
Oh look The rich seniors might need to move out of their multimillion dollar mansions(as their kids are being forced out of the region to look for jobs that meet the cost of living)
I guess they better demand the government subsidize their living expenses as opposed to moving to cheaper digs themselves.....hypocrites

Heads up folks, when the generation war argument starts up that is the time to hit them with the "This is a symptom" message.
Then maybe they will be open to hanging their central bankers when you explain to them how hyperinflation, printing and inflation work. And be sure not to lead with the word inflation, because the government has conditioned their minds to turn off the minute you say of the word inflation. Just get them to understand they are fighting symptoms....and prove it. That will get the gears turning. We'll be taking up pitch forks in no time
The heck with Bill Gonner. Dude is a fear merchant newsletter writer, whom more then likely makes more off his pessimism porn then actual investing or trading with agora scam financial.
As for the generations thing, people respond to incentives and cultures are like operating systems. Whatever gen. you are, you probably would have done the same f-ing thing if you had the circumstances for the time.
Who watches the watchers, and how do you stop the legal right to make others do as you please, stop them from becoming too exploitative, instead of a neutral middle man that can expect to live like a monk for the service he provides, unless it provides a great deal of prosperity to all, that is really the million dollar question.
So, its the boomer's fault that we are stuck with a corrupt government because they VOTED?
Would it have been better if they hadn't voted instead of trying to pick the lesser of two evils again and again, all the time having no choice but voting for EVIL?
With the lock our duopoly has on elections, it makes no difference in status quo whether you vote D or R, and third parties are not electable in the system we have.
http://hammeroftruth.com/2006/the-walls-third-parties-face-at-every-turn/
So, in the coming electtion, when we get the choice of Clinton or Bush, is it EVERYBODY'S fault that we get stuck with evil once again?
It almost seems like BILL BONNER is one of the minions of the corrupt political system, and his job is to try to deflect the BLAME while trying to DIVIDE the electorate, in this case along generational lines. How else do you keep the lesser of two evils alive and well for globalists like Bonner if you don't keep voters distracted with the garbage (like this) that he spews?
Nah, he just makes his dough off of ignorant arguments with yellow journalist style titles that draw in the clueless, who throw money away buying his crappy books or waste time reading his lame articles.
"So, its the boomer's fault that we are stuck with a corrupt government because they VOTED?"
Ahhh, yes. Or rather, its their fault because they THOUGHT all they had to do was vote. In a representative democaracy, it turns out not only do yoiu have to vote but you have to participate n the process that decides who is on the ballot. And THAT is what the boomers fucked up on.
The left have been VERY successful in that regard, normal Americans who just want balanced books and a quiet life have been horribly derilect in this.
I short, YOU, the voter, the citizen are DIRECTLY responsible for the behavior of your elected representatives. PERIOD!!!!
You can't get around this SPOOZ. Your government is correupt because you allow it to be.
The first step in fixing a problem is to admit there is one.

Weird dup with same time stamp. wutsup zh?
WTF are you talking about? Where, exactly, do you think the Boomers were "derelect" in their participation? They were sold a bill of goods by economists and politicians about how low taxes would lead to a "trickle down" effect that would benefit the entire economy. Instead, it led to enrichment of the elites, who used their growing share of the economic output to finance the candidates that perpetuated the looting, while waging unfunded wars that did little more than perpetuate the military industrial complex.
You, with your simplistic "analysis", would have voted with the herd for your "conservative" candidates. The left, which has all but disappeared, kept moving towards the right until the two parties were virtuallly indistinguishable from each other.
So tell me, exactly, where you see the opportunities for any outcome other than what we ended up with, genius, so I can set you straight on history. You are nothing more than a Monday morning quarterback, too lazy and intellectually challenged to do any real analysis.
The REAL divide in this country isn't between generations, races or sexes. Its an ECONOMIC divide between the elite financiers and globalist oligarchs who own our legislature and the rest of us who have to do the work they dole out to us global labor units in meager portions.
Via the steady application of financial repression the Fed is scrapping the money out of the boomers bank accounts and will continue to do so as long as they want to.
i enjoy posting on this blog.
This isn't the first generation to have been "disinherited". Gen X pretty much pioneered the art of getting thrown under the bus by its elders.
