Speaking of the incestuous nature of government (law) & corporations, here's a good one.

Government Motors (GM) wants you to know that you are only "leasing" and/or "licensing" from them, here is their convoluted logic:

"GM has joined with John Deere in asking the government to confirm that you literally cannot own your car because of the software in its engine.

Like Deere, GM wants to stop the Copyright Office from granting an exemption to the Digital Millennium Copyright Act that would allow you to jailbreak the code in your car's engine so that you can take it to a non-GM mechanic for service, or fix it yourself. By controlling who can service your car, GM can force you to buy only official, expensive parts, protecting its bottom line."

GM’s claim is all about copyright and software code, and it’s the same claim John Deere is making about their tractors. The TL;DR version of the argument goes something like this:

* Cars work because software tells all the parts how to operate

* The software that tells all the parts to operate is customized code

* That code is subject to copyright

* GM owns the copyright on that code and that software

* A modern car cannot run without that software; it is integral to all systems

* Therefore, the purchase or use of that car is a licensing agreement

* And since it is subject to a licensing agreement, GM is the owner and can allow/disallow certain uses or access.

http://boingboing.net/2015/05/21/gm-says-you-dont-own-your-ca.html

Ok fine you fucking profit driven dumbasses, if I'm only leasing you are responsible for the cost of repairs in toto, as I don't have any "ownership".

I'll (if I supposedly "owned" a GM product making payments on it, which I don't) leave the POS on the side of the road and expect a replacement when I show up at the dealership.

Dickwads.

Now for your morning corrupt MSM update, made possible by viewers like you...lol...and George Stephanopoulos...and Brian Williams...and Dan Rather...and David Gregory...and...

"The latest victim is “NewsHour” anchor Judy Woodruff, and by extension, PBS itself, which now admits to burying the $75,000 Clinton Cash scandal involving ABC News senior anchor George Stephanopoulos. Friday, as though anything will ever change, PBS ombudsman  Michael Getler stepped up and pretty much pled guilty on both counts:

The following evening, May 15, Woodruff closed the NewsHour broadcast with a “short editor’s note before we go.” She said: “There have been questions this week about journalists’ contributions to the Clinton Foundation and my name has come up. I want to clarify what happened. In 2010, after the massive earthquake in Haiti, I made a gift of $250 to the Haiti Relief Fund, established by the Clinton Foundation. It was meant for charitable purposes only.”

Because as a grown adult with the mature ability to rationalize right vs wrong, as an extremely intelligent, highly ethical, morally grounded "professional journalist", carefully weighing your options & integrity against giving to say, the Red Cross!!!...you decided instead to give to the Clinton Cash Cabal.

Yes, not even the hint of impropriety here, as burying the Stephanopoulos scandal (and thereby evidence of any collusion) is what we've come to expect from the MSM and besides, your cash gift was for "the poor black skinned cheeelrun of Haiti"...wasn't it? ;-)

From your posts you're about 25. You could be full of shit, but you're consistent, so I'll scope you as a grad student with no (at least here; or wisely un)stated goals, and when you get out, you have to pay a bunch of debt off to get pussy ever again, so you'll do any high paying jobs the fascists offer. Or hit the beach for life.

W took away the beach For You. You have to kick ass or serve.

Better than what I got. Back then for those like you it was kick ass or get drafted, but for guys like me it was volunteer or go anyway. As you see, colleges serve quotas... just like corporate HR. But not small business, where talent is (was) king.

Always, the option to fight the system was on the table. We did, and we did it good, at that time, with what we and they knew. Now you don't get drafted so Conoco Phillips can lay pipe with your blood (Heston), just because some lunatics think they require a human sacrifice to lay pipe.

Well, almost.

There it is. You are better starting off than I was. But there is no better security for you. CYA

Thats Life. Do Your Best. Take your chances.

I'm here pretty much every day too, and always tended to optimisim. But the older I get, the harder it is to see an 'optimistic' way out. WB calls 'em as he sees 'em, and the system has long since gone past the tipping point of being self-correcting. The president, the Congress, and the Courts are falling all over themselves to take away the pesky Constitution and finally REALLY rule with meta-data on all (except them, of course).

It's gonna take a violent revolution, probaby brought on by economic collapse and/or a world war that gets out of control.

Fuck - and I have grandkids that deserve better - I once took the oath to defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic - and it turns out the biggest enemies are the congresspeople of the USA.

May they all burn in hell.

It is not about this life, but the life to come in the eternal state.  For our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the world powers of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavens.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Being reconciled to God, who is Christ, is the most important thing any person can do for themselves, but sadly most people never bother to even consider what the Scripture has to say and dismisses eternal truth that saves a person from the effects of their sins.  Do not neglect your salvation and be reconciled to your creator while you can..May the Lord bless you to that end.

I suggest that Billy's silver-lining masterpiece include banksters, politicians, bureaucrats and other unelected officials, all members of the bilderberg group, lamp posts, lots of rabid dogs and pigs, an army of starving hungry EBT parasites, napalm, nail guns, rope...all in an amphitheatre that sells cold beer and provides both a good view and excellent acoustics.

In fact, I suggest that performance art is called for...or perhaps a sizeable installation a-la Christo.

the good news is the banks have your back. the fed and the banks are on separate paths. the fed is a cabinet post, run by bureaucrats. fomc minutes are stock market pep rallies. while the money flows through wall street a great deal of it comes right back to washington and along the way government pension fund keep on paying out obscene benefits, so that only government workers have any shot at the american dream. trust me it wasnt always that way. the banks have surreptiously been carrying water for the fed, and encumbency, the one party system, boehner obama. a 5 billion dollar fine when the fed hands out 85B a month in candy is nothing. the good news is the banks arent happy with this quasi nationalization of their assets. as ellen brown notes after the next crash only five will likely remain, which is the ultimate vision of a nationalized banking system. the good news is the banks are in better shape than they were, and they will take over the market pricing mechanism for interest rates. i know its fashionable to throw all them under the bus, the fed and the banks but the bankers are doing it in real time, not in some ivory tower. in 1913 the fed was created because the government didnt think JPM should set interest rates, now we are full circle, and JPM will set interest rates, and the fed will fade into the background. the banks have an interest in economic growth, while the fed has reason not to want economic growth, which would impair their balance sheet, which is built on bloated political corruption, foreign wars which have no resolution, the phony war on terror, which replaced the phony war on drugs, and the phony war on poverty. the banks represent free enterprise, american industry, and the leading edge in credit technology. the fed heads really have no idea how it all works. their only purpose is to monetize progressive dreams, (or neocon war spending) the banks are your friend

It really rattles the shit out of the VP as he constantly tries to be 'a good guy' while he's shaking my hand.
