Meet The Veteran Who’s Been Reduced To Peddling For Change Online To Buy A New Leg
By Simon Black of Sovereign Man
Meet the veteran who’s been reduced to peddling for change online to buy a new leg
Historian Will Durant once wrote “in the last 3421 years of recorded history only 268 have seen no war.”
This is astounding. Warfare is constantly with us, often for the most absurd reasons.
These days we’re told that the War on Terror makes us more free.
We’re programed on days like Memorial Day to sing songs about our freedom and to thank the people in uniform for making us more free.
The question I would respectfully submit is, do you feel more free today than you did 5, 10, 20 years ago?
We now live in an era of unprecedented government intrusion.
Senior citizens are thrown in jail for failing to file disclosure forms.
Spy agencies arrogantly engage in illegal surveillance on their own citizens.
And excessive force is so commonplace it barely registers as newsworthy any more.
Curiously a number of polls from 2013 and 2014, including Gallup and the Washington Post, actually show that more people are afraid of the government than of terrorism itself.
This isn’t freedom. And it’s a complete myth that soldiers fight and die in the name of freedom anymore.
Warfare today means that a few people at the top of the military industrial complex, banking, and oil services companies become extremely rich. And everyone else pays the price.
The price for everyday citizens is having less freedom than before.
The price for future generations is inheriting a tremendous war debt.
And the price for soldiers themselves is coming home wounded, limbless, or not at all.
In today’s podcast, I introduce you to Joe, one of those recent veterans who lost his right leg.
I recently met him while in the US, and he has an unbelievable story.
Despite losing a limb in combat, Joe can’t get a new leg because the FDA won’t approve the procedure that he needs.
It’s called osseointegration. And the FDA thinks that it might be too risky for Joe.
Risky. Kind of like being in a combat zone in a country that never should have been invaded to begin with for reasons that were all lies, all to support a war that only makes the country less free.
So since the government doesn’t think that Joe is responsible enough to make his own decisions, he now has to go overseas and pay tens of thousands of dollars out of his own pocket.
Joe doesn’t have the money; so a family member set up a donation page on the Internet trying to get help. (I’m not publishing the link here because I’m going to take care of it myself.)
It’s amazing when you think about it– a combat veteran who lost a leg supposedly fighting for ‘freedom’ can’t have the medical procedure he needs because a destructive government bureaucracy.
That’s what freedom means today in America. And nobody’s fighting for it.
Soldiers are off risking life and limb for oil companies, banks, and defense contractors. And citizens are distracted with bread and circuses.
All the while, government power continues to expand at the expense of the individual.
So today as we’re told to remember the fallen, we might also take a moment to remember the freedom we once had.
And to think through the options for winning it back once again.

Bingo!
Yep. Like a one-legged man in an ass kicking contest.
Wounded civil war solders were in such pain they recieved morphine to combat the pain, this lead to hooked solders and a new term called the solders disease, the meds changed since then, but not the need to use or abuse them.
find a young, pretty art/design student
ask her to help a soldier out

'Not posting the link because I'm taking care of it myself'
That's a hell of a nice thing to do, simon.
GK Carl, who the fuck down voted you??
Civil War - another bankster family war. South was flooded with dual citizen carpet baggers after the war to take over the textile industry and other businesses.
THE CLUB: If you have to ask if you are in it, you are not in it.

Joe should renounce his US citizenship, "re-brand" himself as Jose from Mexico and hobble back across the border, he'd have the procedure paid for by college educated waitresses being overtaxed on their tips in a fornight ;-)
No different from the fall of Rome, replacing circus with Kardashians, gladiators with dancing with the imbeciles and Nero with Obo. Same as it ever was.
"We’re programed on days like Memorial Day to sing songs about our freedom and to thank the people in uniform for making us more free."
Right, I notice this particular Memorial Day more and more emphasis on "honoring our vetrans" can't buy a dead guy a beer or a cake now can we.
It's called Memorial Day for a fucking reason, they are DEAD!!!
Vetrans get their own day ya twits.
Justice for no one.
This is Exactly Why when the Shit Hits the Fan the Military (Active/Guard) will assume control of the Government and reinstate the Constitution. Those who resist, will die. Nuff said.

Unless the black nobility families and their cronies like the Soros klan are handled and eliminated - nothing will change.
That would be a grand day to see military-orchestrated perp walks of:
Obama
Bushes
Clintons
Feinstein
Pelosi
Reid
And of course others the board would care to add.
Pretty much the whole f**king Senate except Jeff Sessions.
All these nice young new Republicans like Tom Cotton in Arkansas are all pro-MIC. The great conservative hopes bending over backwards for Obola's TPP.
I would guess 99.9% of Congress gave Bibi 500 standing ovations in his 4 minutes speech in front of Congress. He was just letting them know who is in charge.
The Neo Bolsheviks are going to use us all until we're used up.
If you let them, knowledge is power, arm yourself.
They come to snuff the rooster
let me get out my miniature violin ... sob
The way the federal government treats veterns should be a wake up call for the american people but they won't allow it to disturb their illusions. The true nature of the beast is apparent for everyone to see if they open their eyes. But instead faith in government goes on.
If I had a son or a daughter who wanted to join the military - I would probably bust one of their legs - if they would keep them out o fthe service. No way that I would let them die or get maimed for bankster scum, MIC defense firms or coke heads like Hunter Biden.
My young daughter had a picture of "President" Obola on her wall. I explained patiently what theives, murderers and hypocrites the polytrash are. She took down the picture. Kids at her school want to know why she does not like President Obama. If you see govt in the east, head west.
It is worse and a systemic medical fleecing of America. There are NO Parts of prosthetic limbs that can be "reused". They have to be completely redone. The average amputee goes through 9 sizing's from the time of traumatic amputation, through the healing process to static conditions. The "cups" which attach the limp to the patient, are the only things that need to really be replaced without recycling. The ankle joints can cost upwards of $26,000, the shin frame about $11,000, knee joints can range up to $50,000, and the feet are about $20,000, for a total of $100,000 PLUS!!! Most of the Veteran, medicare and the rest of insurance, take the old limbs in as "trade" at worse rates than used cars, then ship them off the third world or to other countries, and sell them at pure profit at pennies on the dollar.
Just check the price for "used artificial limbs" in other countries, in the US you can and are only allowed to buy new. So the Artificial limb manufacturers also write the rules on payment and reuse of artificial limbs.
It is a racket. They make money on the original sale, LOTS of it, then make money on the trade and resale to other countries. AND they write the rules on payment and payment type, and new sales only, and repayment for insurance, VA, medicare, etc.
The artificial limb industry are taking advantage of patients, and are fleecing them through this process.
Most of us do not know this, until you have a friend or relative that is an amputee. Then the nasty state of the artificial limb industry rears it's ugly head. Just ask the Shriners, how bad this business is. Bet Obama Care made it worse too.
Corrupt Obozocare simply legalized the fleecing.
It was "legal" long befor this Bozo. Big Pharm and the artificial limbs are both the same markup, and want to "seil a dosage or cure" taken everyday and paid every day.
"Patients" are curently harvested for their money. Wait til organs.
.
This is why the unofficial, unwritten, backchannel policy of the US government is to do everything possible to encourage veteran suicide.
But hey, not a problem as long as they can be kept out of sight and don't interfere with the harvest rate of the recruiters.
It's almost as if we don't have a free market in healthcare.....
Fascism at its finest right there. The people who own healthcare industries write their own rules to their benefit, while using their influence on government to force people to buy their products and services, which are of course heavily taxed. It's a win-win for those at the top, not so much for us every day serfs. And people said obamacare was socialism....
Not "almost",... We do NOT have a free market in Health Care of any sort, any kind, any way, shape or form. It is a cartel.
Oh I know, the almost was sarcasm. It most definitely is. My main point was that the central tenet of fascism is state CONTROL rather than state ownership, which allows these cartels to form and use the force of government to make us purchase whatever products they decide to sell us.
Don't forget all the ethical doctor-artists who work for free to fit deformed children as well as casualties with ears, noses, arms, legs and other parts God forget, while the looters use their uncollected compensation to order a bigger yak. You didn't order the fascist turd double dipped in Marxism sweet talk, who killed your parents and grandparents and friends? Sorry, honey. We closed now.
All the world's a stage.... Break a leg.
........And most of us are desperatly under rehearsted.

I have a lot in Common with Simon Blacks articles from what I have seen.
I don't think it is hard to agree with him, even if you have specific issues with him. When power is wielded carelessly then you see Soldiers & Veterans used as Cannon Fodder or worse as Pawns in an Investment Scheme or Resource Grab Overseas.

Hey, maybe many bankers will create an Association for Conservative Practices... or an International Group for Economic Sense.
But the BAR Association has never done any good for the US Constitution or for Simplifying Laws, Streamlining Laws, using Guidelines/Benchmarks for speeding up Court Processes.
"But the BAR Association has never done any good for the US Constitution or for Simplifying Laws, Streamlining Laws, using Guidelines/Benchmarks for speeding up Court Processes."
Creating completely unnecessary complexity has always been a great strategy to protecting an industry's status quo and profits. Finance and Law are two of the most egregious offenders.
Amen
he should take a flight to the plains and poppy fields of hellmand.
he should check out the 100 billion dollar cia drugs industry he provided muscle for.
he should fly to the cities of iraq go to hospitals say hi to the babies with 3 legs and no eyes from ge depleted uranium general betrayus missiles and bombs.
he worked for haliburton, raytheon, boeing the carlisle group not forgeting the bush family.
go talk to them folks.
then maybe he will be a wiser man
"And it’s a complete myth that soldiers fight and die in the name of freedom anymore."
Sad but true. If America's volunteer soldiers don't know this, they damn well ought to. I would have changed the sentence to read "... fight and kill in the name of freedom...", but the wirter does get the general message across.
It would be a very rare occasion that I would hire a veteran.
Either
A. They like killing people (or see nothing wrong with it ... isn't that what the military does?)
or
B. They are so stupid as to believe that the US military is an honorable and honest occupation. (actually, I cannot fully blame people for being ignorant and gullible)
Maybe if it is clear that they had no better opportunities available to them and they joined the military in desperation.
bopeep,
You are a fucking ignoramous!
Icarus
Advice to Joe:
1. forget your english, learn mexican
2. dye your hair black, tan your skin dark brown
3. get wetback clothes
4. go to mexico and come back into the USA by wading across the rio grande
USA's democrat-party recruiting force, formerly border patrol, will get you all care you need, plus enroll you in entitlement programs, issue driver's license, voter's ID, etc
Would this guy lose a leg if he knew this beforehand?

Most bitch and do nothing. If 10% stepped up and did something productive this would be a much better place
If people refused to volunteer for Military Service then perhaps the politicians may think twice about staging a war for their MIC/Bankster/Oilmen cronies.
Joining the Military Forces may end up being hazardous to your health. American soldiers get killed and wounded too. We are not that damned exceptional that the other belligerent screams, "Oh no. It is an American", and then promptly dies defending his HOMELAND which WE have INVADED.
The soldier is guilty of COMPLICITY, unwitting or knowlegeable, in Goverment sanctioned Murder.
Am I to feel sorrow for that? Am I to feel sorrow when a murderer gets killed by someone else with a gun, defending his home, in Texas, or even California? Not only no but hell no. The murderer got just desserts.
What is the difference when we are over there invading their homes?
Maybe if the US Military would keep its nose out of foreign conflicts, and did nothing but defend our borders, then this world would be a better place. Don't you think?
I think every married-with-kids/grandkids/greatGrandkids should hide them from .gov. It is WE who have to be in control, not the opposite that we've allowed since about 1963.

What a shame. Someone will reach out to you. Stay clear of ACA (ObamaCare). Your phone will ring shortly. Sit tight.
thank god the american health care system has now been takin over by the fuckers that run the VA heath-care-less system.
The average military person will never see combat or be in a combat zone. They get 3 hots and a cot, and 4 week vacations per year from Day one. You can blow your whole paycheck in one day and still go back to the barracks and chow hall and live.
I did 10 years in the USAF. My first assignment after tech school was a 3 year tour to Madrid, Spain. I have maids cleaning my room. WE had waitresses in the dining hall at Torrejon AB, Spain. I thought ,''this is fantastic''.
We weren't allowed to wear our uniform off base. the rule was coat and tie in Madrid.
1965-68.
Then FF to 1971. I got tricked into cross training into production scheduling avionics and they said it would be ''career advancement''. Next thing I knew I had orders to go to Vietnam because they needed people in that field.
Most veterans have it pretty damn good for 20 years and can retire with 2k a month at age 38,.
People will say ''You were half way to retirement, why didn't you stick it out''?
After Vietnam and 'waking up to what the USA really was all about'', I couldn't serve anymore. I QUIT.
I have no regrets even though the first 4 years after getting discharged were very tumulutous. having to learn how to live without a First Sergeant giving orders.
Nothing much has changed. The MSM still blares the ''they died for our freedom'' bullshit.
why "3421"?
Wow! Good man Simon for helping this vet! Great example of compassion that is inspiring.

Someone stepped up. Hats off....
