TPP - Transnational Plutocratic Plunder
Possibly the only aspect of TPP - and the Atlantic TTIP - that finds favour with me is that when any company invests large sums of money into any industry either domestically or abroad, they do so according to the laws/regs/rules that exist at the time. Their business case for the investment is based upon that.
Within several years, if the government changes or political fashions change and it becomes anti-capitalist, new laws/regs/rules get introduced which seriously damage the ROI for the investing company.
What are they to do? Pack up and go home? Write down the anticipated profits of their huge risk investments?
These two anti-[everything] treaties at least would give them a course of redress against irresponsible/loony governments, of which there are plenty.
The solution of course is for large capital investments to be lawfully ring-fenced for an agreed period of time (eg: 10 years) to ensure the investing company doesn't suffer from loony governments and their irresponsible policies.

It remains an irrefutable fact that new laws/regs introduced by a loony government after a large capital investment has been made easily affect its value and ROI. Corps which take the initial risk are - in my opinion - entitled to a period of legal/regulatory stability, hence my suggestion of ring-fencing for (say 5-10 years).
Anything less than that can only lead to a drop-off of large capital investments. Perhaps that is the idea, after all it's classic socialism ;-)

I submit that the lack of response is due to neither apathy nor ignorance. There is a phenomenon known as "learned helplessness," this happens when, for example, one puts a rat in a cage and randomly shocks the rat repeatedly over a long period of time. The TPP contains language whereas the US will abide by International law when it comes to firearms; this is one of the primary reasons you must pass it to find out what is in it.
