IT IS NOT A WASTE OF A VOTE TO VOTE FOR NEITHER OF THE TWO PARTIES.

ON THE CONTRARY, IT IS OUR PATRIOTIC DUTY TO EXPRESS OUR CONSTITUTIONAL DISSENT BY VOTING AGAINST BOTH.  IT IS NOT ABOUT VOTING 'FOR'; IT'S ABOUT DISSENTING.

Elizabeth Warren, Bernie Sanders, and Rand Paul are actually viable alternatives.  They aren't owned by Wall Street.  Ross Perrot was a great alternative back in 1992.  What?  Are you waiting for Superman?

All three are pro-Zionist, therefore traitors, and should be banned from politics altogether.

your first point is well taken and reminds me of something ralph nader or ron paul or someone else said: it's not what they differ on that's the problem, it's what they agree on.

not sure banning is the solution however.  need more voter revulsion.

Agreed, everyone should abandon the "lesser of two evils" wholesale and start voting for people that aren't one of two picks by billionaires.

IT IS NOT A WASTE OF A VOTE TO VOTE FOR NEITHER OF THE TWO PARTIES.

The only question remaining is whether by casting any vote in the current scheme, we are legitimizing the concept of "democracy" as it is currently practiced.  By voting, you are suggesting that the entire system is sound, and that it is just the people we are "voting in" who are the problem.  I can no longer - sadly - say that I agree with this proposition.  I think the entire apparatus surrounding the vote is now so thoroughly corrupted, that even by participating in this charade, all we accomplish is to lend it legitimacy.  I'm out, though I respect what you are saying.

Message to the world:

America is not a democracy or republic or anything resembling one.

The citizens have no voice and their representatives don't care what they think.

Despite congress having a single digit approval rating through 4 administrations, there is a 96 percent incumbent re election rate.

Because...

The polls are rigged with e voting and no audit trail.

The candidates presented to us by the zio media are teleprompter reading fake PR creations who more pro israel than they are pro america, because they are all bought and paid for by ZWO money. The one thing they all have in common is they hate the US constitution and what it represents, despite their PR concocted rhetoric.

All the political class are puppets, controlled by the money class. All they do is lie, and only the most skilled liars make it to the mascotts seat.

"rand, anyone?"

Unfortunately Rand is too "smart/educated/reasonable/electable" to be selected by the GOP. The frontrunnders for the GOP will be Jeb Bush, Carly Fiorina & Ted Cruz (all crazy and completely unelectable). Currently, my guess is O'Malley (DNC) wins in 2016, although its still too early to make a decent guess.

If he hadn't gone senile while in office, I might agree with you.  Reagan was a B grade actor and a unionist- but I don't hold any of that against him.

It's when he began promoting trickle down and supply side and service economy that he lost me.

He didn't talk about any of that shit when he was campaigning.

Long time ago, me and my ol' man were watching Reagan's state of the union, when I looked over and saw him scowling at the TV.  (I do that now, myself).

I said, "What's the matter Pops?"

He said, "I'm just wonderin' how long we can survive sellin' hamburgers back-and-forth to each other."

Prescient, he was.

At the very least, he seems honest and like he genuinely cares about being a good politician, serving and bettering the lives of human beings. I intend to write up a criticism of his aggressive affordable/free education aspect of his platform but more or less I can tell with Bernie around how much damage he could do... and maybe if he could focus on undoing corruption more than developing entitlement programs he could do a lot of good. Maybe if he makes a lot of progress on undoing corruption, we'd find that entitlement programs don't have to be as much of a financial burden as they are now. If we're truly such a rich/wonderful country we SHOULD be able to figure out how to make sure every citizen can afford a basic level of home/health/happiness. I'd prefer that be done through job creation and fixing income inequality. I don't know how those problems are tackled exactly, but that's what I'd like to see. In the long term, I don't believe human albor will be much of a factor in economics - so I'd like to see us transition to a new economic model in 20ish years versus attempt to put bandaids on a failing model in the face of unstoppable technological progress eliminating the need for humans. That will only result in actual socialsim.

My wife seem confused why Repubs and the media only attack Hillary and don't mention Bernie - and the reason is that as soon as they do he becomes a credible threat. If they don't even bother to assault him, he's never on the radar because the people don't even acknowledge him as being in the running. Get him in some debates, though, and he might become hard to ignore. I see a lot of support online where I would expect to see mindless Hillary support. I think we'll see the Ron Paul-esque grass roots/internet popularity with Bernie... but possibly to a larger extent due to him being a lefty (which makes more sense for the online success demographic)

I'm a University Administrator. I work with a lot of millennials in my Dept. They see voting as participating in a corrupt system. Obama's false promises are going to fall onto Hillary's ledger if these students' input is any universal indicator.

These under 30's don't appear to do Lesser of Two Evils. Supreeme Court Justice boogeyman is "meh" to them. Tweedledum and Tweedledee. They are opting out. Hillary's genitalia is not a motivating factor in galvanizing their willingness to shill for Hill (D-Walmart)

Clinton knows this. That's why she is playing rope a dope and avoiding pubic events. She isn't worreid about heckling. She's more worried about half filled halls with only Dem Party sycophants showing up.

I chalk this lack of enthusiasm for voting as the end result of 40 years of diminishing Civics classes in K-12 ed.

Plus most of these young' uns get their news from Facebook. They aren't under the thrall of the Pressitute media: NYT, network news, WSJ and the sources their parents and grandparents have been indoctrinated with. Iraq war was a big turning point for how the corporate media propogandizes war for the gov't. The see the corporate media as part of the electoral corruption.

All this talk about Bernie Sanders.

Don't you realize the role that has been chosen for him? The Dems need to "appear" that the Primary is competitive. That it isn't the Cankles Leviathan. That will make the campaign flat: fund raising, door to door volunteering, enthusiasm for the process. The internal polling already shows how flat support is for her.

If she couldn't take out Peace Prize at her height in 2008, 8 years on all that baggage at State is a millstone not a bonafide.

So the Dem Elites need to choose someone who is unectable, is on record for talking about how much "he supports Obama" while pretending to be a populist. No threat to the outcome while getting off a few mild jabs that hillary will parry away by espousing populism for the sake of the cameras.

Bernie's role is to stay in through the Winter and Spring of 2016 losing primary after primary and then we he bows out: Bernie will exhort his followers to support Hillary.

He's a fake. He'll do it because no one likes to bloviate on camera like Bernie Sanders.

Perhaps that's his role, I can't say, but his political career shows someone genuine. Someone who isn't afraid to be the enemy of literally every politician that's his peer. I'd rather throw my vote away writing him in than sacrifice my morals to vote for the people the system wants to believe are my only options. That's how the system perpetuates.

Eventually there will be more people like me, who are more willing to take a losing position than sacrifice their values. People who won't work for defense contractors, wall street crooks, oil execs, prison industrial complex vampires and will simply accept working for less. Eventually there will be more of me than there are of the others - because the internet is making us a more connected an empathetic people. That's manifested in some bad ways, with the recreationally offended social justice warriors and other forms of facists in hippie garb with misguided ideologies and all too aggressive shaming. Ultimately, though, their ideologies are rooted in caring about people more than simply themselves... and I think we'll iron out our idiocy as long as that core ethos remains.

I've been snooping around old Christopher Hitchens/Sidney Blumenthal articles.  Christopher Hitchens summed up Bill Clinton thusly:

I’ll Never Eat Lunch in this Town Again

I had become utterly convinced, as early as the 1992 campaign, that there was something in the Clinton makeup that was quite seriously nasty. The automatic lying, the glacial ruthlessness, the self-pity, the indifference to repeated exposure, the absence of any tincture of conscience or remorse, the awful piety—these were symptoms of a psychopath. And it kept on getting worse and worse—but not for Clinton himself, who could usually find a way of sacrificing a subordinate and then biting his lip in the only gesture of contrition he had learned to master.
