I had not even heard of Shepard Fairey until I recently saw a documentary about this "useful idiot", a label that fits perfectly! He came across as an OCD idiot with a camera. I thought it quite revealing when Banksy, trying to help him, suggested he assemble his film clips into an actual "documentary", or at least some sort of watcheable film. Banksy described the final result as "painful", "unwatchable"... Like looking at a TV operated by someone with the attention span of a fruitfly continually changing the channel...
He struck me as an unoriginal fool obsessed with celebrity with an ego as big as Alaska! A lot of his "artwork" just looks like imitations of Warhol prints. Having read most of the "obey" pdf you posted I have no doubt that this fruitcake would even mind being used by the CIA as long as it increases his own exposure! I am not going to his "old posts", as I now know even more than I ever wanted to.

In any kind of structure fire, there are scents (choking type) that are overwhelming. I know thermite from CAD Welding and can assure you that the smell would be undetectable to firefighters BECAUSE they were wearing SCBA, and the other smells of combusting material would mask other scents outside of those associated with ANY stucture fire.
Any H2S smell would be caused by ruptured sewer pipes and not thermite typically used in cad welding or metal cutting.
