Editors of World’s Most Prestigious Medical Journals: “Much of the Scientific Literature, Perhaps HALF, May Simply Be Untrue"...
Lancet and the New England Journal of Medicine are the two most prestigious medical journals in the world.
It is therefore striking that their chief editors have both publicly written that corruption is undermining science.
The editor in chief of Lancet, Richard Horton, wrote last month:
Much of the scientific literature, perhaps half, may simply be untrue. Afflicted by studies with small sample sizes, tiny effects, invalid exploratory analyses, and flagrant conflicts of interest, together with an obsession for pursuing fashionable trends of dubious importance, science has taken a turn towards darkness. As one participant put it, “poor methods get results”. The Academy of Medical Sciences, Medical Research Council, and Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council have now put their reputational weight behind an investigation into these questionable research practices. The apparent endemicity [i.e. pervasiveness within the scientific culture] of bad research behaviour is alarming. In their quest for telling a compelling story, scientists too often sculpt data to fit their preferred theory of the world. Or they retrofit hypotheses to fit their data. Journal editors deserve their fair share of criticism too. We aid and abet the worst behaviours. Our acquiescence to the impact factor fuels an unhealthy competition to win a place in a select few journals. Our love of “significance” pollutes the literature with many a statistical fairy-tale. We reject important confirmations. Journals are not the only miscreants. Universities are in a perpetual struggle for money and talent, endpoints that foster reductive metrics, such as high-impact publication. National assessment procedures, such as the Research Excellence Framework, incentivise bad practices. And individual scientists, including their most senior leaders, do little to alter a research culture that occasionally veers close to misconduct.

Similarly, the editor in chief of the New England Journal of Medicine, Dr. Marcia Angell, wrote in 2009:
It is simply no longer possible to believe much of the clinical research that is published, or to rely on the judgment of trusted physicians or authoritative medical guidelines. I take no pleasure in this conclusion, which I reached slowly and reluctantly over my two decades as an editor of The New England Journal of Medicine.
In her must-read essay, Dr. Angell skewers drug companies, university medical departments, and medical groups which set the criteria for diagnosis and treatment as being rotten with corruption and conflicts of interest.
And we’ve previously documented that the government sometimes uses raw power to cover up corruption in the medical and scientific fields.
Postscript: Corruption is not limited to the medical or scientific fields. Instead, corruption has become systemic throughout every profession ... and is so pervasive that it is destroying the very fabric of America.

Since almost all of our public "money" supply is based upon enforced frauds, or legalized counterfeiting, we "get what we pay for" in the sense that we "pay for" nothing.
Our monetary system is basically ENFORCED FRAUD, which dominates everything else, and has become a totally metastasized cancer that is killing the society that it developed within. Since the monetary system began as a vicious spiral of crazy corruption through the FUNDING OF POLITICS, and that automatically became worse, faster, at an exponential rate, everything else that was dominated by the monetary system was similarly corrupted and driven to become crazier.
In the longer term, fraudulent science has some increasingly serious consequences. However, in the shorter term, it was the feedback loops of the FUNDING OF POLITICS ENFORCING FRAUDS that was the source of the rest of the related problems, such as increasingly fraudulent science.
We ARE getting what we paid for, in the sense that we are getting frauds which are paid for with frauds.

Hah, DontGive, I appear to have develop some kind of anti-group to my posts, in that, almost immediately after I post comments, I often get 1 or 2 down votes ... then gradually I may get more up-votes, IF people are still reading that article, rather than have moved on to more recent news stories.

Years ago I was a review editor for a prestigious medical journal. Literally, every submitted article had fatal scientific and logical flaws. I rejected them all. Every single article was published despite my review. After a year of this I called the Editor-in-Chief to resign for this reason. I will quote his reponse: "I we rejected every article based on faulty science we would have nothing to publish."
What's really interesting is how much of the "CSI / crime lab / forensic" junk science bullshit is finally being refuted as not based on actual science. Americans have been convinced by TV shows like CSI, NCIS, and all that other horseshit that "they" can figure out everything after the fact using "science", but we are finding out that the forensic "scientists" are a bunch of fucking frauds. THEY should go to jail for all of the people they have falsely imprisoned.
The TV shows, and all of the public blather about domestic spying, are nothing more than a Psyop to convince the American people that resistance is futile.
A friend of mine is a gun and badge thug.
Right after we became friends he was made the head of his citadel's CSI department. He is also a firearm expert.
He began to tell me, and the rest of us, how much bullshit all this CSI stuff is. Said that he got in trouble for not shooting confiscated weapons into gel so as to send the rounds up to country for filing. He said that it was make work for the country, as, unlike what is shown on TeeVee, spent rounds are worthless for IDing a gun, especially if the round has hit someone. The county clerk in charge of collecting and filing these rounds felt threatened when he quit sending them, and made a shit storm about it. The brass can ID a weapon, but not a spent round.
He talked about how DNA is collected and handled and how it can be easily used to frame someone. I could summarize it all, but it would take a lot of space. Let's just say that DNA can be used to frame someone in lots of ways. And even if the DNA is not tampered with, DNA is not as reliable as people have been told.
He says that most of CSI is to scare the defendants into taking Unconstitutional pleas, even if they are not guilty. He found files containing letters stating affirmative findings where the evidence hadn't even been processed; and never was. In other words, "Hey we ran that and it's a match, so you better plea out."
He says that if fear and intimidation don't work, the thugs are expected to lie in court.
He added that he now understood one of the reasons for all of the "cop" and CSI shows on Tee Vee--it was to propagandise the people into thinking that all the forensic science is real, and not bullshit, amongst other things. The shows serve power.
He said that all of it is bullshit, and if one goes to court the thugs and judges will see to it that the jury only hears and sees what the jury has already been indoctrinated to believe.
"You could have been on live Tee Vee in Amsterdam when the crime happened, and they would still convict you."

No idea if it was an arms or fuel depot or missile site. The bomb was (presumably) a enhanced radiation weapon sourced from American or Israel stockpiles. Basically, a low-yield (1-10kt) nuclear weapon - sometimes called a neutron bomb - that is designed for the initial blast effect and short-term area denial. Like the Damascus and Ukraine enhanced radiation blasts, the fireball is noticeably more white-hot than yellow (i.e., atomic vs. chemical), rises much faster because of the heat and collapses to a much smaller black dense cloud than a regular explosive.
It features thin shielding of the pit, allowing a significant amount of high-energy neutrons to escape. A 'normal' atomic bomb has a heavy shield around the pit to reflect and concentrate the neutrons inside the bomb increasing the yield. The point of a neutron bomb is to have a lower yield and let the neutrons escape, but higher lethality through an intense but rather confined (1000 yds) lethal blast of gamma rays and neutrons in the order of hundreds or thousands of rads.
The intense neutron release is visible in most modern video cameras or cell phones with a CCD chip - those chips will scintillate (sparkle) when struck by high-energy gamma and neutrons. The sparkling is somewhat offset from the fireball image because gamma and neutrons are not affected by the lens the same way as light. That's where the 'snow' in the Fukushima snake-camera comes from, except the whole Fukushima camera is being bombarded from all angles so the snow is everywhere and uniform.
In the Yemeni and Damascus video (as well as the Ukraine - Gorlovka? video), the scintillation is actually coming from dust and debris in the air being irradiated and giving off its own gamma or neutrons. The initial blast of neutrons from the explosion can't be seen because of the simultaneous flash that saturates the camera chip.
Something like scintillation can be seen on dense inert metal explosives like Israel's favorite child-shredding DIME munitions. The blast character is quite different, though. You can see the red- or white-hot bits of metal expanding with the blast or falling afterwards. In the Yemen video, no such motion is detectable - all the flashes are irregular and instantaneous. They're from gamma rays or neutrons hitting the camera CCD chip from secondary irradiation. They don't move in the video image relative to the initial blast or subsequent fallout like DIME metal. It looks more like a stationary cloud of sparkles somewhat offset from the visible fireball.
In some forms of enhanced radiation weapons, the warhead is salted with another metal (zinc, for one) that changes into a relatively short-lived (weeks) radionuclide rendering the area unusable for living things. That also has a distinct look according to some witnesses, but none has ever been recorded on video and published. Even without salting, a neutron bomb irradiates the dirt underneath it creating a laundry-list of radionuclides.
Of course, the Yemeni troops have no Chemical-Biological-Nuclear teams and no way to measure residual radiation. Depending on the flavor of weapon, there may be very little left in either a matter of days or weeks, so there's little chance of any measurements being taken or any samples making their way out.
The target in this vid does not look like an ammunition depot or missile site because of the lack of ANY secondary explosions or ejecta trails. There's a LiveLeak vid from a closer vantage point that shows a rather large secondary explosion and fireball adjacent to the main blast. It looks to unconfined to be anything like a BLU-109 'bunker buster'. The blasts from those are pretty distinctive.
So who might have used an enhanced radiation weapon against the Houthis? Take your pick - nothing is provable because you'll never see the U.S. reconnaissance, and everyone will deny using any such weapon. Since similar weapons appear to have been used in Damascus and Ukraine.... well, you do the math.

Until I see a geiger counter ticking on site, I don't think so. There is nothing there that says nuke. It is just a big explosion that someone happened to film until actual evidence is provided. People should have burns and blindness in the area. There should be detectable radiation fallout.
That being said, Obama is capable of anything. The guy has no understanding of civilization, what it takes to build one, or why they need to be maintained. He would be on board with nukes.
