Factory Orders Scream Recession, Drop 6% From Year Ago In Sixth Consecutive Drop

Tyler Durden's picture

Following this morning's disappointing tumble in ISM New York (with 5 of the 6 components plunging), Factory Orders tumbled 0.4% MoM in April (against expectations of a modest 0.1% decline). This comes after March's exuberance-inspiring upwardly revised 2.2% MoM surge (which ended a 7 month streak of MoM drops). Down 6.4% against 2014, this is the 6th month in a row of YoY declines in Factory Orders - something not seen previously outside of a recession. Stocks love this terrible news (for now).

Here's what we said going in...

And sure enough, it was dismal....

Recession?

On a MoM basis, the picture is even worse...  9 misses in the last 10 months... 8 negative prints in the last 9 months

Yep, we should all get used to stuff like this because none of us will live long enough to see the next officially declared recession.

I think those factory orders need a bit more "seasoning" to be just right.

The problem is not enough warehouses, so we need to contract with the Chinese for some of their magic bonded warehouses. That way we can rehypothocate our way to prosperity........

Recovery is right around the corner! He's dressed in a cute teddy with 9 inch spikes and assless chaps. He's just waiting to surprise somebody. Mr. Yellen was surprised earlier this morning, and said it was great!

For ousted NBC News anchor Brian Williams, it has been a recession.  Will he take a paycut to get part of his salary back for the balance of his contract or will he lawyer up?  We should know soon.

Just in time to cancel the Fed interest rate increase they were never going to implement in the first place. It is quite evident Fed monetary policy is just another psyops.

<The Fed gives great oral stimulation though.>

'They' will only 'declare' a recession when it can safely be declared as 'over' and in the rear view mirror.

They can only declare a crisis exists once they firmly have a response crafted that meets THEIR needs. Everything must serve a purpose and crisis is far to valuable to waste, especially one deliberately created for cause.

Factory Orders Scream Recession

George Soros, owner of US government,  just ordered the US to supply tens of billions of dollars of arms to Ukraine.  So factory orders can only rebound.

Besides, all US economic statistics are fabricated to keep the dollar strong.  Who cares for reality when fraud is the only operating principle in the land of the free?

Teacher. Teacher. I have a question?

No not that.

How bout we build an industry by going after bankers, arresting them, and converting the entire financial system over to a publicly owned and operated, open source fincnacial system. Then use the money to replace government with open source software.

Open source....sounds so free. Of course I would still have zero access to its fundamentals, no control by anyone other than the elite who would create it. Like Obamacare, we would likely have to build it to find out what's in it.

It will be called a recession after the next election and the new leader is in charge....he/she will call it a recession to make sure they look good in the end....start low and hope for better...but it seems that everyone is buying a car...with a 8 year car loan...that makes sense....sure...no under water cars coming up on that deal....I hope they are buying a car they can live in....

Down 6%??  But, but, what about all those factories coming back from China?  Maybe they're not actually making things?  Or still in "green shoots" stage or, like derivatives, just mirror images of the real thing?

Economics is puzzling....
