Hillary Clinton's Poll Numbers Plunge To The Worst Since 2001

Tyler Durden's picture

Submitted by Mike Krieger via Liberty Blitzkrieg blog,

Although I continue to believe that Hillary Clinton will be the next President of these United States unless the Republicans nominate Rand Paul (read why I think he is the only candidate who can beat her here), the public’s plunging distrust in her is a very positive development for the nation.

For example, if crowned, I mean elected, she will enter the office severely damaged with almost no credibility. A large percentage of the population will see her as the illegitimate oligarch puppet that she is, which is good, because as James Baldwin accurately noted:

“Not everything that is faced can be changed, but nothing can be changed until it is faced.”

We learn from the National Journal that:

Though Clinton‘s campaign has said repeatedly that the bad headlines surrounding her private email server and foreign donations to the Clinton Foundation aren’t impacting her image, two new polls out Tuesday suggest the scandals are starting to take a toll nationally.

Both new numbers from CNN/ORC and a poll from The Washington Post and ABC News suggest Clinton’s favorability ratings have slipped in the months since the stories about the email server and the foundation first broke; they also find that a majority of voters don’t view her as honest and trustworthy.

A national poll from CNN/ORC Tuesday morning found Clinton with her highest unfavorable rating in 14 years: Just 46 percent of those surveyed viewed her favorably, compared with 50 percent who viewed her unfavorably. That’s a reversal from the last CNN/ORC poll in mid-March, when 53 percent viewed her favorably and just 44 percent viewed her unfavorably. (The last time her negatives were this high was in March 2001, when 53 percent of those surveyed viewed her unfavorably.)

On whether Clinton “is honest and trustworthy,” CNN found just 42 percent of people say she is; 57 percent say she is not. In March, 50 percent said she was honest and trustworthy and 49 percent said she was not.

In the Post/ABC poll, just 41 percent of those surveyed nationally say she’s honest and trustworthy, compared with 52 percent who say she’s not. That’s a 22-point change just within the last year, the Post notes.

I can’t hear you. Are you ready?

I've been saying it for a year now. She may not even be the Dem nominee. She is running great against no one but as soon as their is another flavor to try, the libs will be all over it. Watch as O'Malley rises. Hill will, of course, slit his throat with some past indiscreation because past mistakes don't apply to her, or Bill.

She doesn't have that personal touch that Bill, W, Obama have, and that is not something that can be learned. She is a cold bitter bitch. Who wants to see anymore of that?

If she does manage to win the Dem nomination anyone except Bush will wipe the floor with her.

I predict Hill pulls a ham string and bows out to save face rather than suffer the humiliation of being trounced by Rubio or Walker. This will happen after O'Malley has a strong showing in Iowa and NH if not before.

Are you on acid?

I tend to agree with Mike Krieger that Rand is the only GOP possiblity that could beat Clinton, barring some major issue we are not aware of yet.  Too bad for him, he is not likely to win.  Anyone paying attention to the way his old man was sabotaged last time will understand.

There has been nothing but negative press fabout her for several months, with the 75 GOP primary candidates bashing her constantly, and the press getting their collective panties in a wad cause she won't come out and play with them yet.  I think most would agree that advsrtising sells, so not surprising to see those numbers drop.

Of course, the number is meaningless unless there is a frame of reference.  Compare her to Congress, for example, and they have a 9% favorable vs 91% unfavorable.  Plus, she has about 98% name recognition, and is not in a hurry.  Other than Bush, the other competition could spend every penny they raise and still not get much over 65-70% recognition by election time.

Plus, the poll includes people of all parties.  The only thing that matters is what the Democrats think, and they freaking love her.

O'Malley?  About as exciting as a wet blanket, and only really interested in getting himself a VP nomination.  Bernie will force her more to the left, along with the draft Warren wing, but there is no magic hopey changey wizard waiting in the wings to snatch the nomination this time.

Sorry, Chief, but I'm afraid our new leader will be Clinton II.  Hopefully, she won't be as bad as the last re-run, Bush II.

There is some truth to what you say. No one gets elected without approval of the CFR and Bildeberg group. However, the sheep get the opportunity to select a few potential presidents that then interview with CFR and BB. Then one nominee comes out in each party with a rubber stamp of approval.

From there it is a Kardashian popularity contest.

Elitism will not negate certain demographic realities on the ground.

Hillary Clinton is a candidate for the centre-left in American politics. The essence of progressive policy is to represent the underprivileged within society - the voices which go unappreciated, undetected and unheard. That description only rarely applies to privileged, upper-middle class white people such as you, I, Hillary Clinton or Elizabeth Warren.

What passes as progressive in American politics is often puzzling. The two presidential candidates of the Democratic Party are both representative of white privilege and class privilege combined, and simply do not have the credibility that an increasingly diverse society as America needs.

The poll results of Hillary Clinton, as well as the recent spat between president Obama and Elizabeth Warren, speak to this fact.

I didn't put words in your mouth, please don't put words in mine.  It's a favorite tactic of people who ascribe to socialism or communism or many of this -isms that all boil down to one thing:  statism.  And a tactic that won't work on me.

If you think government is the institution that is going to level the playing field and take care of you, you're delusional.  Who do you think gave you a shit deal to begin with?  Government works FOR those who want to control you.  They are the kinetic arm of the power and control structure that is constantly trying to gain absolute dominion over all of us.  And you want more of that?

Wed, 06/03/2015 - 15:24 | 6160244 Tsar Pointless

The relationship between business and government can go one of two ways: The former can run the latter, or the latter runs the former. For all of my life (44 years thus far) it's been the first way.

What to do then? Go all anarchic? Become full-on Darwinists?

Or do we at least work to change the system we have from within, with someone who really gives a shit about we, the people, at the helm?

I'll pick that option. At least give it a try.

EDIT: I generally have enjoyed and agreed with your comments on this site. Why in the hell can't we focus on the things we have in common instead of the things used to divide us?

"Or do we at least work to change the system we have from within, with someone who really gives a shit about we, the people, at the helm?"

Are you aware that you've already fallen into their false choice trap?  In your mind it's not the law or the Constitution, but a choice of PERSON who decides how well things turn out.  All that's left is to present you with a limited choice of people for you to pin your hopes on.  And no matter which person you pick, things will never quite work out.  In fact it'll get dramatically worse.

You missed your exit about 10 miles back.

God, that's pathetic pie in the sky thinking. Do you really believe that looking for some one "at the helm who cares about we the people" will really make your life better? The only solution is if people stop looking to government to "solve" all their problems. Government creates problems so that you look to them for the "solution" to the problem they created in the first place. This is how they show you their worth and train you to believe that you need them. Government will and always turn into a corrupt parasite that sucks the life blood out of any civilization.

Socialism is just tribalism with lipstick.

Tribalism is how 100 percent of humans lived 10,000 years ago:

  • live in villages
  • hunt in the forest
  • take whatever you want
  • share it "fairly"
  • believe what the shaman says
  • eat, sleep, have sex
  • kill enemy tribes and take their stuff

Then, someone invented capitalism

  • defer consumption
  • grow crops, breed livestock
  • protect fields and pastures
  • accumulate wealth
  • specify ownership
  • create marriage and inheritance
  • trade surplus wealth with other capitalists

Tribalists (socialists) lived a subsistence existence.  They were POOR.  They remained poor.  And they were violent.

Capitalists lived a prosperous existence, coexisted harmoniously with other capitalists,  and provided for an increased population.

A return to socialism is simply a return to poverty, starvation, and tribal warfare.

Capitalist wellfare states.

Tribalists think only in terms of current consumption. If their consumption needs are satisfied, they're happy.

The tribalists were sitting on vast, valuable natural resources.  The capitalists made a deal: give us control of the resources, and we'll set up schemes to satisfy all your current consumption needs.  You can eat, sleep, have sex, and sit on your ass.  The rest is ours. Just stay out or our way.

The tribalists probably don't know and don't care how much the capitalists are making off the deal.  Clearly, enough to make it worthwhile.

Besides being a disgustingly greedy criminal she is also a traitor. She should be subject to a citizens arrest movement to take her into custody and try her for her treasonous and criminal conduct. It's obvious the elites are also traitors and have completely subverted and corrupted the Rule of Law. So be it, they will also have their day in a People's Court where they can plead their pathetic little excuses before a jury from the People. Hanging or firing squad executions to immediately follow all guilty verdicts. There will be no appeals to corrupt or treasonous judges in their black gowns.

The last honest election in the USA was 1789.

The last honest election in the USA was not in my lifetime.

Although I have some serious issues with the Libertarians, at this point I WOULD vote for Paul should he run. Even if he is running under the GOP banner, it would be the forcible introduction to a third party, and a President Paul could be expected to appoint many Libertarians to positions previously unattainable.
Perhaps then we would have an official third party. One that could challenge the comfy control the 'Republicrats' have enjoyed forever. Then they wouldn't have to run under anyone's banner...we'd have a genuine THIRD party!
The Democrats and Republicans need to be punished, and reminded that they don't necessarily own control over things.
What's the Libertarian position on lobbying, btw? Any idea?

If that is so, then at least 42% of people are not to be trusted.
