Caught On Tape: Cop Pulls Gun On 2 Kids, Unleashes Profanity-Laden Tirade In Affluent Suburb

I’ll be up front with you and say that this video is disturbing.
It’s like a bucket of ice-cold water thrown in the face of the dream world that most people are walking through.
Watching riots on TV in places like Baltimore and Ferguson, it’s easy to think, “That couldn’t happen here. All that police violence only happens in poor communities.”
Guess again.
This weekend it was the safe, quiet suburb of McKinney, Texas, about 30 minutes outside of Dallas.
McKinney is no gang-infested slum; it’s an affluent bedroom community with an average household income over $96,000 according to Colliers International.
(Having grown up just a few miles away, I would add that it’s pretty sterile too, full of big-box retailers, megaplex cinemas, and chain restaurants.)
Over the weekend some local kids were having a summer pool party to celebrate a friend’s birthday.
With that many adolescents crammed together in one place, there was undoubtedly some silly teenage drama going on. And police were called to the scene.
One of them starts off almost immediately screaming profanity-laden tirades at the kids, many as young as 14.
This courageous officer’s advice to young people included such gems as “Sit your asses down,” and “Don’t make me fuckin’ run around with 30 pounds of goddamn gear on. . .”
At one point throws a girl to the ground who had apparently failed to ‘get her ass out of here’ with appropriate alacrity.
You can see him grab her neck and attempt to shove her face into the pavement.
The kids all start screaming. Two of them rush over to try and help their classmate, at which point Captain America pulls his gun out and advances menacingly towards them.
They bolt. So he turns his attention back to the girl, grabs her head once again, and screams “ON YOUR FACE!!!” as he pins her down on the ground and puts her in handcuffs.
It’s really disturbing to watch.
Had it been a parent trying to grind his kid’s face into the pavement, Child Protective Services would have immediately removed the girl from the home and the father would be rotting in jail this very moment.
But when a police officer does it, he goes on ‘leave’. And only when he’s unlucky enough to be caught on camera.
If some random stranger grabbed your child and started attacking her, you’d instantly turn into Bruce Lee and put the guy in a Kung-Fu death grip.
But when a police officer attacks your child, the government expects you to just stand around and watch.
That’s one of the most disturbing things from the video.
You’ll see there are a bunch of adults in the video milling around with their hands in their pockets while the kids get abused.
I appreciate they’re doing whatever they feel like they can do to make the best of a bad situation.
But they’ve been indoctrinated for so long that their reaction is to be obedient and submissive. They don’t interfere with ‘the law’. They know their place and they act like it.
The kids, on the other hand, are all still young enough that they haven’t totally subordinated themselves to the state. There’s still a part of them that’s free.
So when the cops get totally out of control, their instinct is to fight back.
That is, after all, our natural instinct– to be free.
We have to -learn- to be intimidated and subservient to the state. We have to learn to stand around with our hands in our pockets while our children are abused. And that learning takes place in none other than the public school system.
I checked the McKinney Independent School District’s website and found that these kids all recite the Pledge of Allegiance in the morning, including that part about “liberty and justice for all.”
They sing songs gushing about freedom in America. But they just got a taste of how free they really are.
Hopefully that lesson stays with them. It’s certainly more powerful that an entire semester of the mandatory civics class they have to take.
After watching the video I actually downloaded a copy of the staple civics textbook Magruder’s American Government, and found a rather prescient passage in the first chapter:
“This nation was founded by those who loved liberty and prized it above all earthly possessions.”
True statement. But that instinctive flame to be free has gone out for so many people, not only in America but across the world.
And no nation can rise again until that flame is rekindled.
The textbook continues:
“To preserve and protect [their rights and liberty], each generation must learn and understand them anew, and be willing to stand up for them when necessary.”
Perhaps that time is finally coming.

After reading more about the situation:
A. The cop needs to learn a little "cool". Pulling a gun on people who are not an imminent threat to him is wrong.
B. The media should be ashamed of itself for trying to distort the situation and drive a wedge between the police and the people.
C. Whoever arranged the situation should be investigated as to their motives.
HOA's should get hip and smart plus the police. Any of this type of shit goes down - becauise these texting parties happen all the time.
The HOA should call the cops and call every tow truck company in town and start towing these little shit's cars.

One thing I saw that maybe some of you who haven't had the privilige of living amongst a large number of black people might not have seen: Shortly after the blue hero takes down the girl with the nice ass, 2 large girls and 2 men approach from his blind sides (he's looking at the girl). At that moment, he could have been attacked and ended up getting his head stomped (sucker punched/cold cocked) like so many other people who engage with urban youth and get knocked out by a sucker punch.
Given that this cop lives and works near Dallas, that means that he is well acquainted with just this sort of mob violence behavior. If you look closely at the video in the second or so after the 4 'bystanders' make close approach, you can see him making that calculation (ie he could end up getting headstomped in 1 second) and reacting like anyone would who was surrounded at very close range by 4 potentially hostile actors, 2 of whom could have likely knocked him out cold with a good sucker punch.
Failure to understand and react appropriately to TNB will get you killed. Failure to be observant and on alert while in the presenece of large numbers of black people can make you a victim before you even know what happened. The are mountains of evidence of this. Denying it will make you another statistic. People who've lived in diverse areas know exactly what I'm talking about.

I grew up in Texas where I player highschool and college football idolizing criminal professional players so you can hopefully understand my defensiveness. My "awkening" or education on the real world has been slow at times, luckily I have had a friend who is apparently ZH royalty (Francis Sawyer) he simultaneously introduced me to this website and helped me buy my first pistol and I have been hooked on both for a couple of years.

In my defense, I cancelled my cable and rarely watch sports (this was daily for me) and my wife and I are moving out of the suburbs.

I am a great admirer of Francis Sawyer. I regret that I didn't get to see more of his posts because I was still relatively new when he was kicked out. I have not seen the troll, that was trying to torment Sawyer, for quite some time. I hope he found something else to do. I abhor the police state that we are becoming and the general militarization of local police. Surprised myself that I took the law and order position. What we must avoid is the castration of local police so that Federal police must take over.

For instance, most of those kids were not invited, at least by residents. Someone had been selling tickets via social media and they were doing it flash mob style. Supposedly about 100 kids showed up uninvited, started arguing with security when denied entry, climbed fences and forced their way in... taking delight in taking over the pool. Then getting into violent encounters with residents, pulling one mother's hair who was there with three children, one of whom was screaming in terror as her mother was pulled around by her hair by one of the hooligans.

Now, some back story. We need to put "affluent" in quotes when describing this community. Craig's Ranch was started by a local guy from a wealthy family who envisioned it being a giant self-contained community, with shopping, medical care, businesses, even a cute little trolley to take you everywhere. It has a mix of houses, some exclusive gated ones on the golf course and many small, almost zero lot line cookie cutters. He launched the thing just before the downturn, a bunch of exclusive houses were built, and then the thing went bankrupt. And a bunch of people moved into the low end cookie cutters that otherwise could not afford to live in that neighborhood, using Obama loans.
I know. I rented in that community while I built elsewhere. And my children woke up crying at midnight because the 40 something neighbor next door, whose walls were all of 10 feet away, was having a party and playing music so loud we could hear it in every room of our house. This type of thing continued for the next year while I rented, despite speaking to them several times, they continued to have loud drunk shouting matches outside in the street at 2 am each weekend and once dropped an entire crate of liquor bottles that shattered on the street while making a midnight move to another location. Lovely, lovely neighbors. And exactly the type of people that actual affluent folks try to stay the hell away from. So, this is not really an affluent community. It is as close to an affluent community that wannabee affluents can get, and they require both parents to work in order to reach it, which is why you see a lot of the behavior that you see on the video tape.
Second, the story is all wrong. This was not a simple "birthday party." Someone came to a community pool, set up a DJ stand and started blaring music full of F bombs to a crowd of other people's young kids, then sent out a tweet that there was a party. And the place got mobbed. And remember, this is not a gated community. So, these were not people invited to a birthday party. It was really more like a flash mob.
Now, I've tangled with McKinney police before, and in my specific experience, they are more invested in being in charge than being right. But, listen to what they are saying. They are telling the kids to sit down while they try to figure out what is going on, rather than milling around and making the confusion worse. They are saying that there is no reason to be running around and mouthing off, and I agree completely. If we view the police as a tool WE use ourselves to police our own community, then we cooperate with them. We are respectful. We follow their directions because we have HIRED them to keep order. It makes no sense to hire someone to keep order and then busily create chaos and make the situation worse, and then blame them for being unable to bring order to the situation.
Again -- behavior typical of the NON-AFFLUENT, not the affluent. And that's what the real back story is here -- a bunch of kids with no manners and no sense of what is appropriate bombing a community pool and then puffing up and screaming "RACISM" when someone tells them that they are violating the pool and community rules.
I don't like police violence. But you know what I dislike worse? Having my neighborhood invaded by kids who tell you that you have no business asking them to leave a place that they don't live. First of all, it is a community pool that is part of an HOA, and the folks who set up the party didn't have permission to use the pool for a party. Know why? Because they didn't ask for it and reserve it, otherwise they would have been told that they can only have a limited number of guests, and that there are only certain times that such gatherings can occur, so as to not interfere with the rights of the other homeowners.
And yet, despite NOT setting the event up properly or working with the HOA in any way, the 19 year old girl who set the event up sent out flyers ADVERTISING that it was an end of school pool party because their house was near the pool. So, in other words, they tried to skate around limitations that the community members had placed for pool use by setting up a non-scheduled and therefore non-cleared event right next the pool but not taking the steps to ensure that they had use of the pool. The DJ set up next to the pool but not in the pool area, and so you have residents who are simply trying to use the pool that they have paid for with their kids, while meanwhile you have blaring offensive music and people climbing the fence to get to the pool area and then mouthing off when the community security guard tried to restore order.
Now, you recognize none of this with your rant, because you are uninterested in facts and truth. You just want to spout.

This is sensational journalism! I read this headline and came here looking for a profanity-laden tirade. This dusting of f-bombs wouldn't even qualify for an episode of Jersey Shore.
It's not bizarre at all. It's a private community pool. You must be a resident of the community and have a pass to use the pool area. Most of those thugs did not have a pass and were turned away by the security guard. They ended up climbing over the fence and started to fight with each other and the residents. They refused to leave. The guard and residents called the police. They still refused to leave and that's why nine police units ended up there. This all took place over the period of several hours. She and her homeys had ample time to leave. I live in the area and know what happened. Now the thugs are claiming that a racist white mother with three little children started attacking the mob of black yoofs.
I'll give you people a little background. McKinney is a small suburbs. It used to be a farming community 30 miles north of Dallas. A couple of years ago, the DOJ decided that at 10.5% of the population, there weren't enough blacks living in the city. They sued the city and forced them to build section 8 units and moved trash from South Dallas into the area. These people took their ghetto mentality out to the suburbs. Now there are fights at the schools every day.
This day, the mob of yoofs burst into the area and started cursing and fighting while families with small children were using the pool. The ones without resident passes were asked to leave and started to curse at the security guard and threatening him. If the yoofs were all peaceful and followed instructions, do you think there would be nine police cars there? Another thing, it wasn't all high school kids. There were people in their 20's. The guy who was jumping around behind the cop was 19. So far, none of the parents have apologized for their children acting like wild animals. And there you have it. I didn't see anything in that video that called for that level of agression. Not only did he place himself at risk, but his fellow officers as well, not to mention the kids - and let's be realistic - attitude and bravado aside (which I didn't see much of actually) - they are still just kids.

Incidently, police have an obligation to be unbiased when hearing witness reports. You separate the parties, listen to the various accounts, compare notes, and only then do you make a decision as to who to believe, who to discount, who to arrest, and so forth.
