Saudi Ambassador Warns West On Iran Deal: "All Options On Table..." Including Nukes

Tyler Durden's picture

We previously warned of the risks of escalation in The Middle East to something much more dangerous, but, as the Saudi ambassador to UK confirmed today, the risk of Wahhabis going nuclear is even higher than many expected, "...if [Iran will not offer assurances it will not pursue nuclear weapons], then all options will be on the table for Saudi Arabia... Iran’s nuclear program poses a direct threat to the entire region and constitutes a major source and incentive for nuclear proliferation across the Middle East, including Israel."

Saudi Arabia is ready to acquire nuclear weapons if diplomatic talks aimed at halting Iran’s nuclear ambitions break down, the Saudi ambassador to the UK has said. As RT reports,

Prince Mohammed bin Nawwaf bin Abdulaziz al-Saud said the oil-rich Gulf kingdom hoped negotiations being led by US President Barack Obama would result in a “watertight” deal with Iran.

However if does not happen, then “all options are on the table,” he said.

...

Prince Mohammad told The Telegraph: “We have always expressed our support for resolving the Iranian nuclear file in a diplomatic way and through negotiation.”

“We commend the American president’s effort in this regard, provided that any deal reached is watertight and is not the kind of deal that offers Iran a license to continue its destabilizing foreign policies in the region. The proof is in the pudding.

The Saudi ambassador said the kingdom hopes Iran will offer assurances it will not pursue nuclear weapons.

But if this does not happen, then all options will be on the table for Saudi Arabia.

“Iran’s nuclear program poses a direct threat to the entire region and constitutes a major source and incentive for nuclear proliferation across the Middle East, including Israel,” he added.

Saudi Arabia is believed to have funded up to 60 percent of Pakistan’s nuclear program, on the condition it could buy warheads at short notice.

If the Gulf state were to activate the deal, it would see Saudi Arabia become the first nuclear power in the Arab world.

Finally, if this 'threat' were to become true... what would be the Saudi catalyst of the hair-trigger big red button of doom? This perhaps?

Another 3.6 billion in bailouts for Corinthian College students in debt:
US will erase student debt for Corinthian students

The Associated Press

The federal government will erase much of the debt of students who attended the now-defunct Corinthian Colleges, officials announced Monday, as part of a new plan that could cost taxpayers as much as $3.6 billion.

Corinthian Colleges was one of the largest for-profit schools when it nearly collapsed last year and became a symbol of fraud in the world of higher education and student loans.

According to investigators, Corinthian schools charged exorbitant fees, lied about job prospects for its graduates and, in some cases, encouraged students to lie about their circumstances to get more federal aid.

See below (tm) and yes, I did Google search Golan Heights yesterday.

ISIS is moving in.

Near as I can tell we have 600 billion spent last year alone and have a combat efeective force of about 80 guys who can go on the attack.

I imagine Israel has a few tricks up their sleeves but I thought it odd Israel would demand recognition of their annexation of Golan given the current circumstance.

And yes ISIS has been infiltrating those positions all year.

Quite honestly I have no idea what the USA is going to do here.

"No country should be allowed to use nukes without being subject to the death penalty."

No country should be allowed to use or have nukes. Period. Nuclear weapons are the most indiscriminate ever made. Fallout doesn't recognize international borders and the vast majority of victims are civilian, non combatants although the sample size is small, Hiroshima and Nagasaki. I'm not sure why US citizens support or at least tolerate its government / military having them other than the fact that most have bought into the MAD theory which is utter nonsense. Mutual Assured Destruction should be renamed to Mutually Assured Suicide. It's the stupidest self defense theory ever contrived and allowed the situation we have in the world today.

It is true that the Israelis are handling their situation. But in doing so they are bringing the world down on them. In fact, the movement to boycott Israel is growing increasingly fast, now encompassing campuses and institutions around the world.

A Salon article detailed the efforts of Jewish financiers brought together by super pro-Israel money man, Sheldon Adelson, to try and stomp out the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions movement (BDS) of Israel by striking it with great sums of money.

But it won’t work, the author concludes, because the movement is too strong and now involves the reeducation of people concerning Israel’s true policies and its illegitimate history.

Writes the author,

Adelson and company can pull the usual levers, they can behave as if, as nearly always, they will get their way.  But they are making a huge strategic mistake that will not result in a victory over BDS, and will more likely turn people against them for this event concerning Israel-Palestine. The image of David and Goliath is not entirely unfitting here. In the end the juggernaut of wealth, influence and power is not going to be able to stomp out the grassroots activities that are springing up across the U.S. and across the globe, because more and more people are emboldened to act, and they are acting in concert with each other, unified not necessarily by BDS, but by the situation of the Palestinians, which has been so powerfully put before the world by BDS. ...

“There has been a seismic shift in the way the topic of Israel-Palestine is discussed. It is being discussed heatedly and passionately, but most important it is being discussed with a desire to know more. Students tell me that nowadays the predominant sense is that no one can afford not to have an opinion, and, good students that they are, they do their homework.

“Fortunately, when they do so, they do not have only the New York Times and the Washington Post to rely on. They have a worldwide set of information at their fingertips. And not just news outlets. They have immediate access to United Nations documents, to human rights organizations, and to the postings of individuals on the ground, and to news sources within Israel itself. And when they access this broader spectrum of information, the composite picture they piece together to inform them of the truth of Israel’s treatment of Palestinians and others in Israel and in the occupied territories is thoroughly damning of the status quo.

What the world really needs right now is an Israeli Spring.

The one where sane, rational Israelis toss their fascist, right-wing leaders into wood-chippers for their crimes aginst humanity. The one where Israelis stop bribing poor white jews from war-torn countries everywhere to move to more illegal settlements in Israel. The one where Jewish rebel terrorists come to the U.S. and take out the psychopathic Jewish oligarchs supporting the forces of evil across the globe.

The Israeli Spring where rebel Israelis overthrow their current government and install their own illegal junta that no longer needs a military because the entire planet doesn't hate the new Israel anymore. The one where the new government announces that there is no such thing as a dual-citizen - you are either an Israeli citizen or you are not. The one where the new government demands separation of church and state, and no longer declares Israel the Jewish Caliphate. The one where Palestinians are not kept in concentration camps and treated like animals.

That Israeli Spring. That's what the world really needs.

Paveway, i think your heart's in the right place; but i doubt there are more than a few dozen who in earnest agree with your sentiments outside the most cosmopolitan districts of tel aviv.  this is an intractable situation if there ever was such a thing.  neither side can nor will live peaceably with its neighbor...this has always been the case.

i do not condone the actions of the israelis; but i at the same time know that their neighbors would be just as -- if not more -- ruthless with the jew if they had the upper hand.

and here's the great danger faced by both sides: that region of the world is of strategic interest to the whole of the world -- it is the one place upon which every nation on earth depends to nourish its present and future. simply put, it is far too important, and will not be allowed to fall into unpredictable chaos.

this article made me feel queasy.  the tone from rhyiad was very aggressive; and this is assuming they don't already have nukes and delivery vectors.  and while the jewish mind is fueled on paranoia, the arab is singularly tribal.  that whole region is so oddly arranged; and knowing that shia populations live in saudi's east (where all the major fields are), and that sects are a schism that begins at the tribal level, and that arab hatred is particularly piqued along these tribal fissures, and looking at yemen and the arab houthies of quasi-shia inclination; and then this isis mess, and all the shia in babylon up to the border of persia.  the ongoing devastation in syria. this is all so fuckin crazy.

and so we have this situation wherein most of the major oilfields are on shia (and to make shit even more complicated) and kurdish lands; and this is within the subtext of sunni political power and the backing of western military might for their regimes.

and let's say i were to get into the head of a strategically minded state craftsman from tel aviv.  supposing that your objectives were crystal clear, and with respect to their fulfillment you considered any impediment to be a legitimate threat.  it is only within that rational framework that the methods and objectives of israel can be understood.  for even though there is a higher reasoning for you and much of the rest of the world, it is not the dominate thinking at any level within the israeli power structure.  and so, on a strategic level their position is fundamentally that of the aggressor.  they are indeed expansionist, and so there are tactical elements that attend their strategy.

assuming that the world's opinion is resigned to the conclusion that there is no peace possible in the middle east, it is definitely in israel's interest to be the prime mover and by any means available instigate a situation that necessitates an 'order at all costs' resolution; in that they understand the region's importance to the whole of the world.  israel needs to be seen as the only rational actor in the world's eyes; yet still somehow provoke an apocalyptic scenario that justifies the sudden advance of its strategic interests.  what better way than a war breaking out on its border amongst two 'religious wacko' nations?  and with iraq already a failed state and syria dangling precariously over collapse, it's hard to see how the timing could be much better.

and in order to sway continential european sentiment your way, it may help if their ghettos explode in conflagrations of racial/religious angst, stoking reactionary spirits within the vatterland.  and somewhere in time as this is well-underway, there may be a sudden 'revelation' of sorts to the gentile, the 'dirty jew' campaign is renewed, and a new round of relatively harmless but sufficently terrifying modern-pograms are whipped up to scare the world's diaspora 'back' to their 'homeland'.

but this is all purely speculation.

I think you and other mis-observed that statement. It is not blaming Israeli nukes, but it accepts the reasoning that other nations should be allowed to have nukes as a deterrent (as in mutual destruction). In other words, even if Israel DIDN"T have nukes, Saudi Arabia is saying that Israel as well as SA would be excused in pursuing nukes if Iran is pursuing them.

@if you don't think we have a Zio controlled media and .gov, what could ever suffice as proof?

Bill Clinton was president of the United States from January 20, 1993 to January 20, 2001. Clinton’s administration was more heavily Jewish than that of any other President in U.S. history, prior to Obama's. Lind wrote the following in 2002:

“What passes in the United States as an evenhanded stance is perceived not only in the Middle East but in Europe and throughout the world, as unquestioning American support of bully tactics by Israel…For more than a decade, U.S. policy toward Israel has been shaped as much by domestic politics as by grand strategy: the pro-Israel lobby is the most powerful one in Washington. This support for Israel—no matter what its policies—has given license to Israel’s hard right to employ savage means of oppression against the Palestinians, and even against their own Arab citizens. While it is rarely noted in the American media, Israel has now occupied Palestinian lands for 35 years, denying 3 million people rights, and ruling over them with brutality.” – Michael Lind, Newsweek International (April 3, 2002)

Americans voted for “change” when they elected Obama but they essentially got the same Jewish administration as Clinton’s.  As Newt Gingrich claimed, "Saul Alinsky radicalism is at the heart of Obama.”

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/sandy-goodman/newt-gingrich-saul-alinsky_b_1250127.html

Jerry Kellman was an organizer working on Chicago’s far South Side.

Dan Reihl writes: “Kellman was an Alinsky protege.

“After college Obama moved to Chicago to be part of the Jerry Kellman organization as a community organizer.  Among the primary goals of Alinsky was radical socialism and redistribution of wealth. Alinsky taught his proteges to 'HIDE' their true goals by any means necessary. Lying was fine. The objective of Alinsky and Kellman was to turn people against the white establishment.”

Seriously, since Obama has green-lighted Iran's nuke program, either the Saudis get nukes as well or they and the rest of the Sunnis are Iran's bitch.

Despite US troublemaking around the world, no one can rely on the US as an ally in 5 or 10 years time, even in 6 months.  And I doubt the Saudis will want to rely on Israel.

Whatever one might think of the Saudis and what they deserve, they will act like most of us to protect themselves and that means nukes to counter Iran's nukes.  Another successful Obama policy.

I kinda like this idea.....

Used to think we just give them all the AK's they want and they would take care of the entire problem themselves...

Except for a few and then we could just take their oil.....................

This obviously puts another aspect to the idea....

Just make sure they just blow each other up as as I imagine radioactive oil would enhance fuel miliage and help stop global warming which according the the chief bimbo is the number one problem in the world.....

Ah nukes have nothing to do with it as we all know Iran doesn't have a nuclear weapons program but does float on a sea of oil that is not under the thumb of western energy corporations. Iran, as is Syria, is also a holdout to the BIS system of central banks. Iran would also like to sell its energy resources to Europe outside of western plutocratic control....'nough said. The Sauds are throwbacks to the days of Kings and Queens and act as such. They have a dislike for the Persians as they threw out their Shaw and are also jealous of the Iranian independance and courage in the face of the imperial western block.

There's a special kind of infantile and stupid entitlement-privilege mindset that afflicts the post 2nd generation of children born into wealth and power. So far removed from reality that they can wreak havoc meddling in (geo)politics and the lives of innocents until at last somebody cuts them all down. The saudis are full of such nutjobs, around 2000 "amirs" and "amiras" where their power and wealth are concentrated. Add to that the batshit crazy wahabists and zionists, they clearly have no clue about the chaos they are creating right now in their own backyard.

Maybe they think the US will always have their back. Maybe they think they are invincible in their own right. But all I see is a bunch of desert dwelling peasants digging a giant cesspit in which they will trap themselves that will eventually drown them in their own shit.

This might be wishful thinking, but that all powerful oil-dollar cycle will vanish in an instant the moment the manager-banksters reveal themselves to be the frauds and bankrupts we all know they are when the financial system collapses under the weight of its own bullshit. Couldn't come sooner, imo.

If the Sauds are really looking into their own nuclear weapons program, that would be the smartest investment they've ever made. Once the oil runs out, Saudis can count on the oil wealth being squandered by princes or stolen by Western banksters. When it's gone, DC will think nothing of leaving the House of Saud to their fate.

The Sauds have learned from the example of the IsraeIis and Iranians  that the only way to avoid violent regime change when you've become more trouble to Wall Street than you're worth to them is the ability to vaporize the world's financial capitals if the banksters either try to push you aside or allow your enemies to do so. Israel owes its continued existence to the Samson Option. No surprise the Sauds want their own.

If the Saudis buy nukes from Pakistan, after Iran signs the Treaty, the Iranians will be at risk from the Saudis.  At that point, if the US does not prevent the Saudis from having nukes, it means that Russia will have no choice but to sell them to Iran as well, or NK will sell them for oil and food.

No indeed. Not while Saudi has oil.

The State of Israel lost its usefulness as a Jewish reservation decades ago, and the banksters would sell Jerusalem to the Sauds tomorrow morning if Jerusalem wouldn't have vaporized them if they tried.

That's why the Sauds want a bomb. The oil won't last forever, and when it runs out they'll need another way to get themselves taken seriously. Nuclear blackmail works for North Korea, it works for Israel, and it will work for Saudi Arabia.

Ban Ki-moon’s decision not to include Israel on the list of violators of children’s rights twists the knife in the heart of every Palestinian parent, making it very clear that in the eyes of the United Nations, Palestinian children’s lives don’t count.

When a military with the most sophisticated and accurate weaponry on the planet can kill more than 500 children in cold blood with complete impunity, as Israel’s absence from the list shows, it reveals more than just the complete disregard for Palestinian lives that has become so commonplace in the halls of power. It also makes it abundantly clear that the UN, the single most important international organisation charged with protecting the lives of the most vulnerable, is failing spectacularly.

I like how people pick and choose who should be able to have nukes. My stance is either everyone has them or nobody does. It's idiotic that people can justify some countries but not others.

People can try and play the boogeyman card with countries like Iran having them yet last I checked the only country to actually use them (twice) on another country is the good ol world cop the U.S of A. The pride of freedom, of human rights and of peace.

Your statement is pure American government bullshit propaganda.  The nukes were used on Japan as a demonstration to Stalin and the Soviet Union of the USA's technological war superiority and willingness to use that technology.  There was no military justification for the nuking of Japan otherwise.  In fact, the Japanese had been suing for peace for months prior to the nuclear attacks and the USA refused them repeatedly, in part so they could drop the bombs to monitor their effects.

Ah, news flash . . . . the Saudi's already have nukes and likely have had them for years. This whole thing just sounds like cover for the time coming to a propaganda channel near you when it is confirmed they used at least one nuke in Yemen. With the low yield (.2 to 5 kiloton) fission weapons produced and distributed by Israel the use of these weapons is going to become relatively routine in the near future.  Beside the Saudi (Israeli??) use of a nuke in Yemen, within the last decade these weapons have been used in Ukraine, Syria and Iraq, just

to name a few places. The interesting thing is that even though it's expected that the MSM would blackout info related to the use of these weapons, the exact same thing is happening within many "respectable" alternative media organizations . . . . which makes me wonder where their (the "news" outlets) loyalties are and/or who is funding their operation.
