Spencer Ackerman reports in the Guardian:
The Obama administration has asked a secret surveillance court to ignore a federal court that found bulk surveillance illegal and to once again grant the National Security Agency the power to collect the phone records of millions of Americans for six months.
The legal request, filed nearly four hours after Barack Obama vowed to sign a new law banning precisely the bulk collection he asks the secret court to approve, also suggests that the administration may not necessarily comply with any potential court order demanding that the collection stop.

there, the current President hoped he would be able to have a constitution-changing super-majority in the elections, which would have allowed him to change Turkey from a Parliamentary Republic to a Presidential Republic
the Turkish electorate was against, and even the National-Conservatives to the right of President Erdogan's Conservative AKP party are against, so his plan is moot, for a while
why is this relevant? well, because in this case, President Obama is doing exactly what a President of a Presidential Republic can do, i.e. exert executive power over and beyond legislative and judicial powers
(of course, if anybody would ever ask for a Young Turk Revolution in the US, most would think about the Democrat/Progressive "Young Turks", another interesting sign of a possible political premption of any such "silly things")
ask yourself why the US puts so much power in the hands of one. ask yourself why campaigns for that post cost so much, and last years
further, ask yourself why the US Congress is the most hated institution in the US... while based on the principle of one seat only for grabs in such interestingly shaped districts

I was informed by a skeet shooting buddy today that 2nd ammendment supplies are still in chronic shortage, this has been going on for years. Where are all of the lawsuits? The gov has been buying up supplies and we still don't have any answers and there is no mention of it in the news.
