"Getting Him Fired Is Not Enough" 100s Protest Texas Cops' Bikini-Clad Teenage Girl Assault
After the clip of white cops rampaging through an affluent Texas neighborhood teenage pool party went viral, the outcry at the actions of the police officers is growing louder as, it appears, AmeriKKKa (as one protester's banner exclaims) is waking up to what can be done.
As Reuters reports, hundreds marched through the Dallas-area city of McKinney on Monday calling for the firing of the police officer seen in a video throwing a bikini-clad teenage girl to the ground and pointing his pistol at other youths.
Corporal Eric Casebolt, who is white, has been placed on administrative leave pending an investigation of how he responded to the disturbance on Friday which has raised fresh questions about racial bias in U.S. policing. "Him getting fired isn’t enough," said one protester, adding at that "he should be charged with assault."
About 800 people took part in the peaceful rally, carrying signs demanding an end to police brutality and calling for police accountability.
"We are demanding that the officer be fired and be charged with assaulting the youth," said Dominique Alexander, the president of the Next Generation Action Network, which helped organize the rally.
The incident comes after a string of cases over the past year fueled waves of protests across the United States over what civil rights activists say is law enforcement's unjustified use of force, often lethal, against minority groups.
Casebolt, a 10-year veteran once named the department's patrolman of the year, was questioned by authorities on Monday. He has not spoken publicly about the incident.
At the start of the video, one officer cordially tells some teens: "Don’t take off running as soon as cops get here."
Dajerria Becton, the 15-year-old girl thrown to the ground by Casebolt, told broadcaster KDFW the officer twisted her arm and grabbed her by the hair.
"Him getting fired isn’t enough," she said.

Not that simple. The meancing cop waving his stick around and pointed it at people telling them to leave. Implicit in this is neither 'you are being detained' or 'you are under arrest'. This means, 'you are free to go'. Nice bullshit about 'trying to figure out who comitted a crime'. That cop was looking to bust somebody's skull because he was tired of carrying "30 pounds of gear". Just terrible policing. Slightly better stormtrooping, but the guy isnt good at that either. Most of time, stormtroopers can elicit a little fear.
Did you watch the whole video where he comes back to talk to the boys he yelled at? He had already given them lawful commands, and they decided to try to disobey and run away because his back was turned. He started yelling at them because he was telling them a second time. This was *not* his first round of giving orders to people at the scene. It is that simple, but all you want to see is an us-vs-them narrative that justifies a federal police force.
I dont recall hearing 'You are under arrest' or 'I am detaining you'. I dont see probable cause for arrest, either. I do hear 'Leave", which is an insane command with no specificity or frankly legal authority.
All I see is an out-of-control cop who is too weak for the situation. So he goes WWF on the little girl, and then he pulls his gun.

Nope. Look at the video again. That male gets perilously close to his holster. He reacted instinctively in the same way you likely would have under the same circumstances. After watching the video again I believe your hypothetical is way off base. It would make more sense to believe the reaction of the kids was to stop the cop from injuring the girl, not to go for his gun.
Sorry, but I disagree. You get two individuals running up on a cop from behind while he's cuffing someone, he's going to draw. He kept the gun at low ready and never put the muzzle on them and he quickly reholstered after they left and his partners ran after them. I'd say he handled that part of the situation perfectly (other parts, maybe not so much).
And when he does draw, he risks an armed bystander fearing for his life, or the life of a 3rd party, and blazing the cop the Hell. "Running on the cop" justifies pulling his weapon. The cop just committed a crime (assault). Let's take this to a jury.

The Police Officer was the adult. Was there anyone at risk? Was the officer's safety in question? Were there crimes being committed? Who were the victims of these crimes?
Got that right. A couple of months ago, I happened to have gone to Walmart, where my kids were goofing around and caused an empty cart to bump a car.
The woman made a fuss, and I gave each of them a light, knucklehead smack to the head (glancing whack in an upward direction) and reprimanded them. The boys apologized to the woman , and that seemed to be it. But then, some other woman (white, middle aged) who observed this, got all excited and started yelling about my corporal punishment and how "They'd turn into abusers..." After a brief exchange of unpleasantries with her, we left. Given where we parked, she/they could not ID me or my car, because nothing happened for a week.
A week later, when we popped by again, the Cashier used my Debit Card info on her Register, to ID me and inform her boss. I figured this out in hindsight, as her body language and responses to my pleasant banter were all wrong, compared to a week earlier when she was friendly as could be. We had cops on our door an hour later, saying that DHS sent them. Nothing came of it, and the chat with the cops was pleasant and unenventful. It's a good thing our community/Zip code has 'normal' cops and I have a good rapport with them. This is clearly not the case everywhere else.
The point is that (a) BigBro is watching, (b) the Sheeple are all too happy to "Say something" to BigBro, and (c) You're right about the double standard. There is a Double and also a Selective Standard as to who may use what amount of force. E.g., determining what is discipline vs child abuse, and what is police operations vs police brutality.
Whatever the situation, and no matter the Players, a Situational Appropriate Response is what's called for. We are seeing more and more Overreach by governments, as well as their uniformed Enforcers. Which will keep getting worse as the economy worsens.

We need an effective police that does NOT trample the rights of the citizens. If I had the choice between the status quo, and lower taxes/take care of the trash myself, that would be easy. Crowd of frustrated, intoxicated teens, climbing fences to get to a pool area they are denied access to, starting to be aggressive with parents of children swimming in the pool, ignoring private security guard requests to leave the premises, things escalate until one gets into a screaming physical altercation with another mother. Crowd becoming angry because they feel they have every right to be there even though they don't, because they got a tweet that "invited" them to a pool party without actually providing access to the pool, and instead of recognizing that their fly-by-night piece of shit party organizer has actually set up a cluster fuck, they erroneously conclude that they aren't granted access to the pool because they are black. Which of course feeds into the bullshit narrative they have been fed by the media.

The cop pulled out his gun in response to one particular white kid who, thinking he was going to get cute with the agitated officer, was creeping up on him with one hand behind his hips. The officer made an appropriate response to a potential threat. As soon as he unholstered and pulled his piece out the white kid started running like the wind. The officer then put his gun back in the holster and continued detaining the girl. I don't think he ever intended to use it on the kid, or anyone, thank God.

The truth is, the real violence doesn't start until the police show up.
People behave badly all the time. Pushing and shoving, cussing at each other, threatening, disrespecting private property. When the cops show up and go to aggressive / control mode right away, then it becomes a real fight. Their reputation precedes them. People already know what's going to happen when they see them arrive.
If the chick advertised a pool party / invited people to someone else's private property, she probably can be arrested for that, or certainly sued for the consequences of it.

Watch that video, and ask yourself -- what the fuck was that kid doing? He ran up like he had a purpose. Cop response was textbook. Pull weapon when threatened, ascertain specific level of threat, dispatched backup to deal with retreating threat, reholster weapon, and resume prior activity.

Hindsight is 20/20. Just putting myself in the cops shoes............ He would have been better off waiting for more cops to show up and then they (presumably) could have calmly tried to diffuse the situation. But his actions are so typical of modern police training to be the agressor.
