From the Slope of Hope: Unless you reside in a cave, you know that every month, like clockwork, world-famous narcissist Oprah Winfrey puts out the latest edition of her "O" magazine featuring none other than herself on the cover. This woman is huge, both literally and figuratively, in the world of celebrities, and who I am to judge the taste or wisdom of cranking out this monthly nod to megalomania?
But this month, I glanced over at the newsstand and must, here and now, draw the line. Because not only is the cover graced, as always, with a photo of this self-obsessed morbidly obese woman..........but the photo is simply a photo of her taking a photo of herself.
And as if that weren't enough, some text on the cover encourages you to check out page 15, where you get the distinct privilege of seeing (ostensibly) the selfie of ol' blubber butt.
I can only offer Stedman as an antidote:

So Oprah went to a shrink about her narcissism. The shrink says 'this may seem a bit unusual, but what we need to do here is first have you disrobe completely. Oprah hesitates but thinks well he's the doctor and dutifully gets naked. Next the shrink says 'I need you to kneel against that wall' which she does. After a few seconds the shrink says 'now please crawl over to the next wall. Oprah dutifully crawls to the next wall. The shrink takes a few moments and then instructs the still naked Oprah to crawl to a third wall which she does. Finally, after a few more moments the shrink instructs her to get dressed and resume her seat at his desk.
Oprah is thinking that this is strange therapy but figured it must be a way to tackle her narcissism. So she asks the shrink how this is going to help her. The shrink says, ' this won't help you at all. But I've ordered a black leather couch and was trying to see what wall I should put it on.'

It just proves that glamor magazines can make anyone look good on paper, even if you have to own the magazine to get it done. Just don’t look for any proof in reality. It all kind of reminds me of Wall Street valuations of tech companys.
What the USA needs may not be less Oprah but fewer cops shows glorifying violence - and fewer killer psychopath, killer zombie, killer vampire, and assorted killer aliens shows.
Also, a lot of professional football players are built "thick". Doesn't necessarily mean they're unhealthy, because it's partly a genetic body type. People with thick genes must have survived some natural disasters that people with skinny genes didn't (like, for example, extended periods when no food was available), which is why thick genes are still in the gene pool.

About two years ago I escaped the USA, moved to Colombia and it's been an educational experience and really has worked wonders on my understand to the beast that is the USA once I crawled out of it ass.
Let me explain. I had been going through a lengthy self-reprogramming before I left and the last two years have been like a mental enema.
Things I noticed USA vs a 3rd world country Colombia ain't perfect and is a challenged country.
- Advertising is amazingly unsuccessful in Colombia. 80% percent of peoples choices is based upon what is the cheapest. The biggest reason? They don't watch much TV vs. USA. On things that matter like transportatoin they go whole hog and buy Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki, Toyota, and ignore USA made rides except for Ford pickup trucks.
- There is no easy credit in Colombia unless you make a big salary. For that reason you can buy a three bedroom newly constructed home made solid as bank [they don't build their homes to be continually rebuilt every 30 years like the usa] in much of the country for $45K and that includes the land and that house may have 2000 sq ft. or more. Amazing what homes cost when the banker is not running the market using easy credit finance by taxpayers at their expense to enrichen the banksters, Congress and their crony friends slopping at the housing market trough.
- College education runs about $1500 a year for many disciplines and that includes all books, fees, etc.
- Colombians for what is worth get paid in cash weekly sometimes daily. Whether you are fired or quit, you get almost instant frontloaded-full paid unemployement in cash by the employer...it's the law. Not 99 weeks extended by DC to buy votes. Means you know that you better find a job before your severance runs out because there aren't any food stamps, yaddy yaddi. Employment is available everywhere and people seemlessly move from job to job. It's amazing to see. Labor is cheap in Colombia but a salaried worker can support an entire family , wife at home, three kids, and own a home free an clear before they are 55 years old.
-Cash Cash Cash. You get it? It's my first time to live in a cash society since I was a child in the '60's. I'm moving to Thailand next...foods 2000% better than Colombia and even more cash-driven society. Going to live in a modern new condo 6 blocks off world class beach in Pattaya Thailand for $375 a month rent....paying cash.

If you live outside US Territory for the year then you get $93K deduction from foreign income..yaddy yaddi. I read less and less of USA news and now I go sometimes for days and days without knowing what is going on in the USA except here on ZH. I am no longer angry, I am free!
I will probably die in a 3rd world country and I am ok with that. I will miss my beloved Texas, my original home and still a unique and interesting place. If Texas succeeds , which it won't, I would consider moving back to live in the Republic but that is a dream as even Texans have swallowed the honey turd.
Latin America is sprinkled with Latinos that have lived in the USA or Canada and returned to live in their own countries or even other LA countries, they have an expression for the USA, "The Golden Cage", the cage is beautiful, is guilded in gold ....but it is a cage ...sort of like Hotel California, "you can check out any time you like but you can never leave."
I live in a 3rd world country and I am much more scared of the IRS than anything, ANYTHING in Colombia. The IRS and the jackboot gestapo of your local town when I have to do an overnight in Amerika and the full retard Dept of Homeland Sodomy with their army of bankster spies... those folks I am scared of as I have to fly through USA airports and I am in fear every time, I mean it, that they are going to look at my passport and not give it back forcing me to stay in the Golden Cage. In today's USSA arena all it takes is one report from a bank employee that does not like the fact that I visited a bank and take out $10K in cash and BAMM! I am hot listed for life as a potential criminal... hey I must be guilty, I don't live in the USA and I like to use Cash! CRIMINAL CRIMINAL somebody sound the alarm. When I travel I keep to myself and normally dont' say anything so that peeps don't know that I am an American. In all my travels I have never experienced so much American dislike from folks, most notably from Europe, once they find I am from America. I see it in their eyes. I have Canadians who refused to speak to me once the heard my Southern drawl, I saw the dislike that had for me instantly while they were polite to people next to me. I have had comments from almost every European tourist I have met in my restaurant here in Central Colombia.. they feel compelled to tell me how much they hate the American government and all its tentacles... DHS, banking, immigration, but most of all foreign policy.

Also remember for those folks that don't want leave. There are US Territories that are nothing like the mainland, you can remove about 50% of the stress of the USA by moving to a US Territory as these places are usually so slow and backwater that it like living in a resort if you got a few bucks.

But I can tell you this: if on my blog (which, by definition, is "my blog") I constantly posted pictures of myself, and then upped the ante by posting a picture of myself taking a picture of myself, I think some finger-pointing and laughing would be richly deserved, in spite of it being "my blog."

Actually, being morbidly obese is more than 10% over one's recommended weight or BMI or whatever. In my case, that's only about 18 pounds or so, and so, yes, I have indeed been 'morbidly obese', whatever that phrase might bring to the mind of most. Still looked better than most, but not as good as I do after reading Eat to Live by Joel Furhman and started heating with wood.
Who came up with that metric? Being 10% over your "recommended" body weight is not going to kill you. That's ridiculous. And whose "recommendation" are we going off of? An anorexic super-model or Oprah Winfrey?
