I think tech has allowed an information spread that is truly evolutionary. I imagine in the older days, like when my grandfather was drafted for WW2, communication was completely different. Even though the country had been well captured by that point I believe the people in that era enjoyed a relative freedom we can currently only dream of. The president was still King, his word more golden than today. Information was highly restricted compared to the internet age due to the exchange mediums. You just could not reach enough people. I don't think they'll ever be able to truly lock this down now.
I remember myself at 18, before my red pill. I understood no world dynamics and watched a lot of TV. I would have gone to war in a heartbeat. Really just speaks to how the media is captured by the same America-as-sheriff narrative. Whether that's just groupthink, or 9 guys in a room somewhere controlling the scripts - as to cnn, fox, abc, cbs, nbc - you get remarkably similar coverage on by and large the same stories in a way that doesn't make much sense.
Then again, we have a 2 party system, and few people seem to complain or worry about a nation this size being limited to two parties. I spoke with a fella a few weeks back who opined that 2 parties is better than the chaos of the UK system. Given how few seats UKIP got versus how many votes - perhaps the issue is districts more than anything else.
I am not sure that the people even in Poland and Germany are quite buying the prevailing narrative. The notion that Russia threatens the Baltics or Sweden is so absurd I can not believe NATO generals actually summoned it as an excuse for their provocations around Russia's northwest marches.
One wonders what Russia and Putin was supposed to do - let the US help [at very least] a coup by anti-russian nationalists and oligarchs with private neofascist militias, let that coup regime eject Russias fleet from Crimea, and let that coup's thugs slaughter ethnic Russians in the east whom, at first, simply wanted autonomy, without providing some assistance?

It was nearly 100 years ago that the Bolsheviks, as contemptuous of Russian ethnic identity as todays EU mass immigration advocates are of European cultures, mugged and raped Russia and it was about 20 years ago that much of Russia's natural wealth was stolen by a handful of oligarchs. It is also the case that the Bolshevik empire was happy to ignore the sovereignty and national rights of the various peoples on its marches, and today, Chechnya is denied what Crimea took for itself, and what Kosovo was granted.
Still post cold war it seems clear that Russia has been extracting itself from the system it was forced into, recovering from the rape of the oligarchs, and beset by a ever-growing NATO which refused to give up its ghost - the attack in support of Al Qaeda in Libya not the first absurd repurposed NATO mission. But it is clear that the US, UK, and Israel, along with a dragged along France, Canada, and a few others of even less importance, seek to denigrate all rivals.
Everyone knows what the newspapers will not report: the goal is to have regime change in russia, break it up into a few disparate states, and flood it with immigrants while doing all that can be done to have non Russian, non Orthodox Christians hijack all of the news and entertainment media to weaken the position of the Orthodox Faith and Russian nationalism in the face of globalism and globalized private central banking.
But Russia would prefer to deploy its own Samson option rather than let that happen. It is not clear that the US/UK/Israeli Axis quite understands this. Or perhaps they do and lack the capacity to have anxiety about it.
