The Index Of Evil: Who's The Bad Guy Now?

Tyler Durden's picture

Submitted by Bill Bonner via Bonner & Partners,

Bullies, Chiselers, and Zombies

Let us finish our series, “The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly.” We’ve been looking at how, when everybody’s a lawbreaker, it’s hard to spot the real criminals. (To catch up, here’s Part I, Part II, Part III, and Part IV.)

You’ll recall that we imagined a conversation between two German soldiers on the Eastern Front in 1943.

“Klaus, are we the bad guys here?” one might have asked the other.

Yesterday, we mentioned a few “bad guys.” It was no trouble to find them. Just check the lobby of the Four Seasons Hotel in Washington, D.C.

But today we move on – beyond the two-bit bullies, chiselers, and zombies – to the really ugly guys.

Who are the evil ones?

It’s easy to see evil in dead people. Stalin... Hitler... Pol Pot... people who tortured and killed just to feel good. The jaws of Hell must open especially wide to let them in.

But who should go to the devil today?

Counting the Bodies

It is not for us to say. But we can make some recommendations:

Paul Wolfowitz, Richard Perle, and Lindsey Graham come to mind, along with John McCain, Dick Cheney, George W. Bush, and all the other clownish warmongers.

Of course, we want to be fair and respectful. Each should definitely get an impartial hearing… and then his own lamppost.

But everybody has his own idea about who should swing. So, let’s try to look at it objectively.

Things governments do are quantifiable. We can follow the money. We can count the bodies.

We’re going to make it easy to tell the good from the bad and the ugly with our new Index of Evil.

Which are good? Which countries really are evil?

Russia? Iran? North Korea? The Islamic State? How do we know?

We put our trusty researcher, Kelly Green, on the case.

“Kelly,” we asked, “can you quantify ugliness? Can you help our readers figure out who is good and who is bad? Can you identify who really should be included in the Index of Evil?”

Kelly was not put off by the magnitude and gravity of the job. She went to work on it. What are the marks of evil in a nation? Murder. Assassination. Wars. Torture. False imprisonment.

We’ll forgive theft. All governments steal. (Some more than others.) But we’re talking about “ugly” not just “bad.” So let’s stick to capital crimes and mortal sins, not just venial sins and misdemeanors.

Who kills? Who puts people behind bars? Who tortures?

Kelly added it up, creating the world’s first objective standard.

Who’s the Bad Guy Now?

Three decades after the U.N. Convention Against Torture, torture still happens in 141 countries.

Alas, torture, says Kelly, is not reliably quantifiable. The CIA, for example, calls it “enhanced interrogation techniques.”

To his credit, Senator John McCain – a prisoner of war in Vietnam – has consistently opposed torture and introduced new legislation to ban it just this month.

We also had to take out countries for which data was unavailable. North Korea, for example, is a mystery. ISIS, too, is such a special case that the numbers won’t mean much.

You’ll notice that we included many numbers that were not clearly evil. Military spending, for example, is not necessarily a bad thing. And the homicide rate is not always the fault of an evil government.

Nevertheless, the numbers are there; make of them what you will.

And we included the U.S. for comparison:

061215 table

So, Klaus, who’s the bad guy?

the british empire was the worse by far............

'This blog summarizes the numerous episodes of genocide committed by Britain in its perfidious and ongoing ambition to maintain its imperialist grip on the indigenous world. For too long the world has been duped by the treacherous and viperous anglosphere which eagerly points their blood-stained finger at demonized foreign (i.e. non-white) individuals and groups to conceal their own massive, unsurpassed and unpunished crimes against humanity.'

Anusocracy...

Russia has been involved in FOURTEEN Military Conflicts since 1991.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_wars_involving_Russia

I believe that the invasion of Georgia was one that Russia actually started.

The First Chechen War which Russia started ended up in a defeat.

Russia is far from being a Nation at peace.

Whether or not they "started" the conflicts is subject for debate.

But certainly they are not innocent victims in some of the conflicts.

Oh. I know. The USA is far worse.

But painting the Russians as much better is a denial of reality.

I think that you know better than to place ANY HOPE WHATSOEVER into a Nation State of any sort.

They are all fuckin' evil. It is just a matter of degree.

The chart in the article stated wars started in the last twenty years.

Of the six listed on Wikipedia for the last twenty years, only in one might have been started by Russia. There were no wars started against sovereign nations. Compare that to the US which has been at war for ALL of the last twenty years.

Certainly all governments are evil, but the basis for your post is very suspect.

Saakashvili, emboldened by his US/Israeli handlers, invaded and began shelling the predominantly and former Russian Georgia districts of South Ossetia and Abkhazia, much as Prorshenko is doing today in eastern Ukraine today. And for the same reason, to goad Putin into a response. Russia did not start that one, and the empire of chaos and their stooge Saakashvili were given a lesson, in no uncertain terms, in foreign policy.

It really is that simple.  I would watch for those Chinese numbers to start changing in a hurry as they are creating millionaires every minute.  Their numbers were good because they were ALL poor.  They were all so poor that they probably didn't even have a word for it - it was just life.

Nothing spawns conspiracy theories like war in a remote place. The latest one comes from a singularly well-placed source. In an interview with CNN last week, Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin accused the U.S. of orchestrating the war in Georgia in order to benefit the candidacy of John McCain. He claimed that "U.S. citizens were indeed in the area of conflict" and that "the only one who can give such orders is their leader." Without endorsing Putin's claim, many European officials reportedly harbor suspicions that there was more American involvement in the crisis than previously reported. That may be one reason, some European political analysts say, why European Union leaders this week failed to impose concrete sanctions on Moscow for its Georgian adventure.

 - Who Started the War in Georgia?

Survey says Georgia, with its Israeli dual citizen Minister of Defense, started the war by killing Russian peacekeepers, there by agreement and treaty, to protect the Ossetians

In my "mind", one that supports, uplifts and sustains life, in every thought, word and action, taking that as deep as one's mind (and heart) can comprehend, is basically a good guy. One who see's the world revolving around oneself, where anything and maybe everything is expendable to satisfy that small, egotistical self, even to the extent of intentionally creating damage/pain, directly or indirectly, to anything in ones environment, so as to satisfy personal desires, well, then we have the other side.

I think many of us from the less educated to the Very Educated believe that these people and the Wealthy loot consumers, cheat, steal, commit fraud, and rip people off to get rich and even cause or support war, dirty war, prolonged war, and human suffering of refugees, disease, rape, murder.

So it follows that the less educated to the Very Educated might like to limit wealth, power of the wealthy, and the compensation given to private executives.

It follows that people know you can't continue to get rich without hurting or victimizing the poor or the dumb middle class.

Seems to me we can allow people to hurt themselves, take drugs, experiment with sex, change their sex, buy their own medication, learn their own lessons, have self actualization, have self determination,... but their should be a limit on Wealth, ownership, control, compensation at some point.

Guys that fund foundations that may teach bull shit to farmers in Africa, bad medicine to Indians, and promote GMOs and finance programs that lead to suicide due to debt... while who knows the toxicity of the medication they peddle... and all that would be needed is follow up to see the results of the Non-Profit NGO... just like we just have to look at the results of US Wars. It is easy to see the massive negative outcomes of Western Involvement around the world. Why would we think the Wealthy or the Federal Government are only producing good results at home???

Maybe I am suggesting the Opposite of TPP, TISA, TTIP which increase Corporate power and increase compensation for Executives.

Before becoming the first British king of the Hanoverian line in 1714, George I (who spoke more German than English) had been the Duke of Brunswick-Lüneberg (der Herzog von Braunschweig-Lüneberg). The first three royal Georges in the House of Hannover (also known as the House of Brunswick, Hanover Line) were also electors and dukes of Brunswick-Lüneberg. Between 1814 and 1837 the British monarch was also the king of Hanover, then a kingdom in what is now Germany.

- Apparently from what I've heard all European Royal Families that still exist except for Monaco trace back to Germany

House of Windsor didn't exist till 1917, the family name changed from Sachsen-Coburg und Gotha. Germany's Kaiser Wilhelm was a cousin of the British king.

I bet Rich Families, Banker Families, and US Political Families have lines of ascension and try hard to emulate a royal lineage, royal traditions... and Secrecy about the Family.

The Rothschild family being the example.

Maybe it is a common human thing. A human desire to be Royal.

Forget the low-enders and puppets in the spotlight. What about  It's easier to kill a million people..., Zbigniew Brzezinski? What about mass murdering Rockefeller errand boy, Bill Gates? After one good will visit to India 4 years ago Gates left 60,000 kids parallelized or dead from the 'Polio vaccine' he brought for them. And don't forget his depopulation partner, Warren Buffet.

To get this in perspective the Salk polio vaccine intentionally spiked with the SV-40 simian cancer virus has killed over 100 million people and is still killing 1 1/2 to 2 million people a year. That is more than Hitler and Stalin combined. And both were put into power as well as Mao by the City of London and Wall Street.

2nd chechen war would be fair, imho.  But that's really it.  And given that Chechen terrorists were being increasingly armed by CIA, [Jewish neocons and other militarists like Zbig got in bed there, and later, Ukraine - unless you think they really were suddenly concerned with the well being and freedom of Chechnya..]

Who can blame them?

Georgia is routinely presented by the usual suspects as Russian aggression, an Orwellization later perfected in Crimea/Ukraine.

How odd that Georgia's minister of defense was one of Georgia's handful of Jews, a dual citizen who worked and studied in Israel, and absolutely ust have been a Mossad asset.

They killed 16 Russian peacekeepers as part of an overall assault on the Osstetians who manifestly preferred Russia to Georgia.

They actually count 5 wars started by Russia, and only 4 by US during the last 20 years (since 1995), so US-wise it's Sudan, Irak, Afghanistan, Haiti, Kosovo at least. And this is only the count for the countries with direct US-involvement.

So, the author is biased at best.

When the author counts in Ukraine and Georgia as war's started by Russia he's simply dead wrong, both are wars initiated by NATO (which is in fact US), maybe as part of a strategy to bring Russia in submission.

And don't mention the middle-east colour-revolutions in the name of democracy and peace...

Haim Saban Threatens Orange and Companies Boycotting Israel with Retribution

During their Las Vegas anti-BDS “Maccabee Summit,” Sheldon Adelson and Haim Saban, sat down for a joint interview with an Israeli Channel 2 TV reporter. She raised the issue of Orange CEO, Stephane Richard’s abject apology to Israel for suggesting his company would like to be rid of its Israeli affiliate. Saban replied with a tone of menace in his voice that any country that is even thinking about boycotting Israel should think twice because the harsh treatment being meted out to Richard is just the beginning for him. In other words, if you’re a corporate CEO and want to keep your job, heed Saban’s warning or you may be out in the street.

The reasons to boycott Israel just keep growing.

AFAIK, Hitler didn't murder anyone.  Buuut, the fuckers "just following orders" were only too happy to do the wet-work.

Quit focusing on the politicians. Put some pressure on the cops and soldiers.  These are the truly evil people, because they turn a despot's "wicked plan" into bloody reality.

"Order-followers" ... the world's vermin.

And, you can just fuck off, draping yourself in that flag or Oath.  You only wear them in an attempt to shield yourself from responsibility.

Tyler, I admire the fact that you took on this ambitious topic, but this is probably the most biased and misleading post I have seen on ZH in a long time.

Why was Israel excluded from the analysis?

On a per capita basis it has to be the worst of the lot - especially when you count all the dirty wars that the US was duped by the cabal into fighting on behalf of Israel (Iraq for example).

How typical ofZH commentary.  Jew hatred and Russian ass kissing. The paid flaks at the FSB are busy today. I find the false differentiation between Russian imperialism and Soviet imperialism highly amusing. Perhaps one of you can tell us where all the Russians went from 1917 until 1990. Or better yet tell us the difference between "national socialism" and "socialism in a single state".

Maybe you could start with this guy.

An Israeli student finishes high school without ever hearing the name “Genrikh Yagoda,” the greatest Jewish murderer of the 20th Century, the GPU’s deputy commander and the founder and commander of the NKVD. Yagoda diligently implemented Stalin’s collectivization orders and is responsible for the deaths of at least 10 million people. His Jewish deputies established and managed the Gulag system.

Wow you ignorance is astounding.

This bullshit story is propaganda to help judge the level of hate of Israel.  People wrote articles like this in the 1920's and 30's to do the same thing. The jewish cartel that runs the banking declared war on the German Mark to destroy Germany this is not my opinion. They were so bold that they even printed in the newspapers.

Don't be fooled by these stories the numbers don't add up and be careful on how you respond to the propaganda.

Well intentioned article, but one sided and shallow.  The United Socialist States of America were doomed in the early 1900s when Progressives (proto-Marxist/Communists) made their way into the public institutions, preceded by the toxic wave of Eastern European Bolsheviks of the Semitic Persuasion. As Diane West revealed, the Roosevelt Administration was infected and infested by this treasonous and subversive virus.

Today we are living off our past achievements and assests, left by those who cared as much or more for community, country, God and family-not necessarily in that order.
