With Stocks 3% Off Record Highs, Investor Confidence Crashes To "Extreme Fear"
You know The Fed has suppressed vol too low for too long when stocks drop 3% from their all-time record-est highs and sentiment collapses into "Extreme Fear"...
For some context...
All 7 of the underlying components are now flashing red...

Dang, the PPT is impressive. Nice work guys.
Extreme fear! Buy Bitcoin bitcherz!
https://btc-e.com
What emotion?
Sheeple complacency is at an all time high.
Ridiculous! Extreme fear would be a 50-70% correction!
“I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.”I'd have to agree with you whole heartedly, this isn't extreme fear, or the markets are entirely manipulated. (Period)
This article would work better with an audio track. We need the guy who does radio ads for Monster Truck Weekends.
"Today, extreme FEAR! FEAR! FEAR! Come see the greatest calamity to happen since recent market highs! We'll sell you the whole seat BUT YOU'LL ONLY NEED THE EDGE!"
Ride of the Valkyries might work for you:

We haven't seen REAL fear yet, but it's coming. Bonds are circling the toilet and there are very large payments coming on the buyback binge. Everywhere things are going to shit, except Wall St. of course. They are too busy playing the slot machines to notice the coming tsunami......
Peeps must be freakin out that the Chairsatan has no tricks up her sleeve...btw, ever wonder why they won't let anyone read the Trade Agreement just hosed by Nancy? I'm pretty much guessing its multinational risk diversification deal so that countries will backstop each other in the event of a melt down...if word of this got out it would implode the world financial syatem. Time will tell.
"Extreme sensationalism" is a more accurate description of what we are seeing.
*** BREAKING NEWS ***
I got my replacement bank card in the mail today. Not news you say,,, Well, it doesn't expire until Nov. 2016...and the replacement has a chip in it. chip chip hooray!!! The release schedule is being accelerated.
Make of this what you will...
;-D
Same thing happened to me a month ago... my Exp on the previous card was Oct 2016
Odd part is I didnt request a new one... told me it was due to a breach in the system.
I followed up asking why I wasnt notified about the breach and my account
Cheers
Got one of those too. Can't see what the difference is: old one had a mag strip; new one has a mag strip and a chip. The card can be read by inserting the chip into an appropriate reader (I've run into exactly one of the last month) or by swiping the mag strip.
I don't know whether additional information is on the chip or anything else about though.
Those cards only went out ot certain "persons of interest" The NSA can now monitor your movements in real time.
Ya, I'm shitting bricks...
/sarc
Yet we are still having a 'meltup' right now.
Yes, time for the low volume ramp-fest.
Because, we deserve it and such as.
Yup, bid the ES straight up 20 points because why not?
Time to buy the pre-Greeceisfixedfuckingdip.
Put down your bong and know that all US markets are fraudulent and manipulated by the Fed. Yellen has your back (and your balls if you are middle class or lower). Never short fake, manipulated markets
In other news:
Retail Sales (ex Autos) Turn Negative For First Time Since 2009 http://davidstockmanscontracorner.com/chart-of-the-day-retail-sales-ex-a...extreme fear my ass...this will be back up 170 pts in one day
Correction, She'll be green before lunchtime.
And always will until the printers break or they run out of paper.
Exactamundo. There will be a huge move up, a breakout, once the Greek issue is "fixed". This is all a set up to trap the bears.
BTFD has worked 1000 out of the last 1000 times - I'm sure this time is different - lol
yeah, let's look at only 2 years of data for an indicator of "investor" fear, particularly considering a 2 year period like no other in history (other than 1929 and 1999). what a bunch of baloney.
HFT algo links VIX, treasuries and SPY futures and that is all that "moves" markets. there are no "investors".
a dream machine for the NY FED, if you ask them. a colossal corruptfest system, if you ask me.
Can't wait for the day when the Fed's bids turn into nothing more than providing liquidity for the sellers.
I'm so fearful that I'm buying Ag today. Does that count?
Yep, but find a good hidey hole or similarly good spot to bury. I really believe these monsters will try to go door to door relieving Americans of their PM's.
It's been lower than that. I recall it hitting a low around 3 back in October.
best article ive seen all day ... liberal paradise turning into graveyard:
Puerto Ricans are fleeing island's bad economy
http://money.cnn.com/2015/06/15/news/economy/puerto-rico-debt/index.html?iid=Lead
S&P up 15 points from today's low. Fear? That's laughable man.
Green by day's end
Wall of worry so BTFD, or something like that...
The "Fear and Greed Index"? What is that comprised of?
Volatility is still at a record low (VXX), though up less than 3% today.
This article is cherry picking its (dubious) data.
They showed you all the components in the grafics, Look again.
Overall this is the most bullish article I've seen lately.
Fear? My big hairy ass. Note how the Dow never seems to decline more than 200 points, and the S&P seems to be unable to ever decline more than 20 in a day. Until I see the Dow down 500 and the S&P down 50+ in a day, then I will just assume TPTB have it under control still. This morning is just like all the other decline days- looks like some fear, but really isn't.
Don't worry, the fed plunge protection team will kick off the BTFD rally shortly...
not sure how the fed suppressed volume? sure QE put money in the hands of corporations who bought their own stock, a sort of trickle up effect. low volume is the weapon of the bull, a buyer who wants 1000 shares can buy the market higher by doing 100 shares a day. (in the abscence of sellers, and why would anyone sell in those circumstances. now the corps hold a larger part of their float and have much greater control over the stock price. its nearly a bullet proof market
Karl Denninger latest is that it's here. Also after martin armstrongs interview on Alex jones fri. His site is gone. Comes up no resource
Denninger - what a fucking tool
Uh, dude. Check the VIX. Yes, fear!!
Please speak up if you think investor fear has anything to do with stock prices.
Buy the fuckin' dip... hey!
Buy the fuckin' dip... uh!
Buy the fuckin' dip... hey!

Mommy what's an investor?
Thanks for the heads up. I just switched over from my UVXY long position back over to XIV long. Time for Fed S&P ramp up back to 2100. The masses are going to get sheared a bit more today. SMH
That's good. Extreme fear will diminish ability to think cleary and will push us into buying panic.
Some ambiguity remains but last weeks analysis of the Dow remains on track...

More volatility on the market means more possibilities for successful shorts. Read here about short selling:

I have a speedometer from a '57 ford T-bird that is more accurate than yours.
I was up in Bedford, New York on Sunday and came across a real-estate listing (22 pages, double sided) of high-end properties for sale in the area.
Here is a sample of the listings...
http://afterbubble.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/Scan-4.jpeg
I'm thinking that all the coming banker layoffs are causing a rush to the exits for high-end property...
Similarly, on any given day in the New York Post, there are usually many Hamptons properties listed within the first 10-15 pages...
Extreme fear: time to buy
Probably because everyone who wants stocks already owns them. Now what?
One can never have enough stock.
"Be greedy when others are fearful" - time to go all in long the SPY
Maybe a 30% drop not a 3% drop. That is hardly fearful.
EXCUSE ME, BUT HOW THE FUCK IS A 15 VIX 'EXTREME FEAR' ?? BASTARDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Most of the charts do not support the thesis of the text.
