The Audacity Of Hope Meets The Veracity Of Data

Tyler Durden's picture

Hope may be an investing strategy in the short-term, but it is not a driver of economic growth...

no matter how many times Yellen or Lavorgna or Cramer tell you it is.

GDP Now says GDP is exploding:

So the Feral Reserve will raise rates no matter what soon!

Those are US GDP data with fake CPI data.  If you plug in real inflation then GDP was 8.9% lower in 2014

Just look at how we fix inflation:

Chapwood Index shows real inflation in US.

In 2014, it was 9.7% - 1212% of official US inflation (0.8%)

http://www.chapwoodindex.com/

The Chapwood Index reflects the true cost-of-living increase in America. Updated and released twice a year, it reports the unadjusted actual cost and price fluctuation of the top 500 items on which Americans spend their after-tax dollars in the 50 largest cities in the nation.

They (BILL)  just asked 4 pundits on cnbc if they thought the fed would raise rates tomorrow. The look on their faces was classic..as they all guffawed and shoook their heads..i.e. the fed is a JOKE..

You were all promised "Hope" and "Change."

It wasn't defined at the time.  It was left for people to define it for themselves.  Sadly, most people got it wrong.

The Obama regime has helped infuse the media with such an annoying, hopeful tone that does not actually correspond to reality.

The Audacity of Data

The veracity of data is like that pet phrase about statistics : lies, damn lies and...

The audacity of hope is like the poppy fields of Afghan that look like a carbon copy of the golden triangle of Burma/Thailand/Laos; when the Kuomintang generals; surrogate allies of the newly spawned CIA; having been defeated by the Commies of Chairman Mao; started their opium trade in earnest in that jungle of dopium to feed hopium of "yes we scam" sold subsequently to manipulate the people of Nam!

Pax Americana is a great machine to cut and paste a losing game simply because its their hopium of saving a lost horizon that they hope to hold by applying a perverted carbon copy of Conrad Hilton's old mantra: one location, two location, three location that has now morphed into : one we cheat, two we cheater moar, three we cheatest most!

The great game of Jefferson's land had now been transformed into the great imperial game of Carlos  I, the grand, of the sun never sets empire fame. Which bit the dust fighting the derelict paupers of Orange in their eighty year war of religion.

Cut and paste US marines territory of "towering Colossus", alike the Conquistadors of old, now being maimed and tamed by their own Frankenstein type monsters, like the Tiercios of invincible fame faced with the Jolly Roger of sea dogs. THe Dutch derelicts were of similar rabid bent against the Holy Christian emperor who initiated the Spanish Inquistion all over Amerigo's two continents.

Guess who lost; it wasn't the dutch derelicts it was the mighty Tiercios, old precursors to the US Marines of Halls of Montezuma's tradition. Now being Butt bashed into submission by the rabble of Raqa.

But back in new imperial Rome the media spews the new spiel that "yes we can" will overcome the heretics of Raqa,  like Philip II of Spain with his Armada launched against the new pick pockets of England's sea dogs scam descent were supposed to tame the allies of dirty Orange's mud soaked Reformist coalition of Lutherans cum Puritans.

The dirty and the bad won over the good of Spanish Main empire. What a reversal of social order as it entrained the rise of a new social class --the bourgeois-- and heralded the Enlightenment and Revolution; reversal of the aristocratic order.

Looks like the West has now gone full tilt into reverse gear to neo-feudal renaissance with a vengeance!

And they have the gall to say its Marx's doing !

Carlos I, like Caesar or Lady Victoria and Napoleon were not sons of an egalitarian order based on equal opportunties but not equal results ! The Enlightenment was for liberty as much as it was for equal rights.

The fix is in.
The game is afoot.
Run, don't walk, or be flattened like tin.

Liberty is a demand. Tyranny is submission.

Means fuck all.  GDP is made up.  They call it seasonally adjusted or some other bullshit predicating term to GDP.

It's the Fed's "lipstick on a pig" which gets validated by the Fed buying up MOAR STAWKS.

GDP can start going up again too.

North Dakota never even had a recession.

Nor did Wall Street apparently.
