If you look at video of the 'old' presidents (Truman, Eisenhower, Kennedy, even Nixon) you generally didn't see such obvious fake affect. They really just looked like administrators.
These days it seems every public appearance is spiced with some over-the-top smirk, frown or gesture, as if they are nursery school teachers.
The Bushes, for example, seem to specialize in looking into the distance, usually at some new weapon being demonstrated, and vaguely, disinterestedly pointing into the air. It looks somewhat regal, cesarian.
Hillary is one of the worst, a total chameleon with an extensive repertiore of phony gestures, facial expressions and even fake regional accents.
And the american mob absolutely loves it.....

Every poll I have read since the emergence of the Tea Party [only meaning since a group organized called for smaller gooberment, not endorsing TP] shows that the American population disagrees with your call.
Every poll of a wide swath of voters shows they "want the gooberment to DO something.." on every topic, there is no call for smaller anything...nothing...bigger, more intrusive, more expensive, that is what the populace has said they want and still do.

However, it can be changed!
The fact that a site like ZH would give you the opportunity to have outlet to your creative wanderings and pin point focus on TPTB and their hypocrisy is testament to a changing attitude.
