God's Man On Earth Tells Goldman It Isn't Doing "God's Work"

Tyler Durden's picture

Having explained His vision for a new world order, The Holy See unleashed some scathing remarks towards the bankers of the world in his 183-page encyclical. Appearing to address the bank that does God's work, God's man on earth stated, "Saving banks at any cost, making the public pay the price, foregoing a firm commitment to reviewing and reforming the entire system, only reaffirms the absolute power of a financial system, a power which has no future and will only give rise to new crises." Furthermore, His Holiness called out the financial sector for having outsized influence over the political process and endorsed limiting its reach.

As The Wall Street Journal reports,

Pope Francis dedicated a few lines of his 183-page encyclical on the environment on Thursday to the topic of the failures of banks and markets. In the Holy Father’s view, “[t]he lessons of the global financial crisis have not been assimilated” and the governments’ response to the crisis have only set up the financial system for a future panic:

Saving banks at any cost, making the public pay the price, foregoing a firm commitment to reviewing and reforming the entire system, only reaffirms the absolute power of a financial system, a power which has no future and will only give rise to new crises after a slow, costly and only apparent recovery. The financial crisis of 2007-08 provided an opportunity to develop a new economy, more attentive to ethical principles, and new ways of regulating speculative financial practices and virtual wealth. But the response to the crisis did not include rethinking the outdated criteria which continue to rule the world.

While praising business as a “noble vocation, directed to producing wealth and improving our world,” His Holiness called out the financial sector for having outsized influence over the political process and endorsed limiting its reach:

[E]conomic powers continue to justify the current global system where priority tends to be given to speculation and the pursuit of financial gain, which fail to take the context into account, let alone the effects on human dignity and the natural environment… To ensure economic freedom from which all can effectively benefit, restraints occasionally have to be imposed on those possessing greater resources and financial power.

The pope’s views may be backed by some recent research: On Wednesday the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development said that curbing certain kinds of bank lending could ameliorate income inequality around the world and increase economic growth.

the pope is a dumbass. The one giant world government this pedophile wants will be run by the very same people who run the worlds banks and central banks. The raping that took place during the financial crisis will pale in comparison to what will happen to the entire worlds population if the pope gets his way.

It will be interesting to see how catholic's like andrew napolitano and Tom woods take these remarks(both of whom I have a lot of respect for). The pope is supposed to be 'infallible' to catholics, but this pope is about as un-libertarian as you can get.

This Pope is a great man, who has lived an exemplary life, and actually so were all the Popes of the last 100 years more or less, and throughout history more or less.

Popes, priests, bishops, for the most part live extremely frugal lives, much more so that the fat and sassy Pastors, or the smugsters posting here. The Church is even too radical for ZHers apparently.

Implied Violin, why dont you go out and give fifty cents, and try and be one thousandth of the man your local priest is. And stop posting ignorant shit. Those could be your good deeds of the day, towards making the world a better place.

I'll bet that Merkel doesn't have that problem.

It could be that the Pope misunderstands Lord Lloyd, because something was Lost In Translation (between Catholic and Luciferian speakeasy).  Here is Uhura's cultural translation...

Pope:  We are doing God's work -- We are God's Right Hand.   IOW... We're willing to do his good works, the Giving of Blessing.

Bankfine:  We are doing God's work -- We are God's Left HandPssst, we're willing to do his dirty work: the Taking of Blessings and of Financial Life.

[heavy sigh]... When will folks like you wake up from the BIG LIE, and face the fact that...

The fucking ROMANS (their Elite) tweaked/morphed Christianity and all its many flavors and sects, into One Cohesive, Processed, Pasteurized, Homogenized PRODUCT, at the Council of Nicaea in 325 AD.  "Obey the Rich & Powerful, pay your taxes, be weak and meek, don't revolt... Slaves, look after one another so that the Elite slave-owners won't have to...".  This is the kind of Faith and Deity that the Romans created, when they promoted Jesus of Nazareth from a popular Jewish Prophet (aka 'Son of Man') to Son of God:  Because it suited them.  Heck, even the Church hierarchy mirrored the hierarchy of its military.  That way, the Emperor would have to deal with only one 'Clerical Emperor' (with no secular army) -- under his Cesaeran thumb.  Frikkin' BRILLIANT!

They chucked out and burned anything they didn't like, and kept what they did like (which "Aligned with their Agenda").  What was their Agenda?  To have a Standard Religion that would unify a decaying, corrupt and broke empire, and keep the Plebeian Masses calm for as long as possible.  Luckily they did not succeed in destroying everything, and some ardent Roman Libertarian Christians kept and hid them.  Today we know them as the Dead Sea Scrolls.  You may want to read some of them, as most real scholars and intellectuals (those thirsting for Knowledge and Truth) do.

Does the 'Unifying Religion/WorldView' sound familiar?  In the Latter Day, New Rome, perhaps?  It doth indeed.  Which is why... when the OWG is unveiled by the NWO, you can bet your ass(ets) that it will also have a One World Religion (WorldView*) -- out of pure pragmatic necessity.

* Religion = Doctrinal WorldView: "Racial, Gender and other Equality, Peace, Respect for... "Count your blessings" (Blessed are the poor), "Let Us Prosecute Justice" (Turn the other cheek), "It's not easy being rich" (It is easier for a rich man to go through the eye of a needle...)

p.s. Look, folks... although I like the IDEA of Jesus and what he stood for (Human Decency and Common Sense, Basic Justice, Civility and Capacity for Forgiveness to even the worst of enemies...), I'm saying that what we ended up with, was a remarkably different "Jesus" than what he probably was.  The Romans (Church of Rome) peddled and sold their version (in 325 AD) to its minions in its crumbling empire.  Compared to the Muslims and Jews, whose Deity is a strong deity and wants his people to be strong against their enemies, the JC we are being sold has turned Westerners into Sheeple of the Rich & Famous.  And now, that Jews and Muslim are directly competing with Christians for Lebensraum and Resources, they are better equipped to compete -- when dealing with an "Eye for an Eye" type vs a "Forgive them" type.  It's Basic Logic, FFS!

This is true. I once for shits and giggles proposed in bible study class, we branch out of the norm and read The Apocrapha, the Dead Sea scrolls and the Gnostic apocryphal book, the Gospel of Thomas. Well, let's just say my suggestion was not well received. I guess I should be thankful I was not burned at the stake as a heretic.

It is funny how many organized religions fear intellectual exploration in spiritual matters. They fear this will result in their believers becoming apostates. The lack of freedom here indicates more of a desire for control than a realization of Truth.

Then again, if anyone tells me a line should not be crossed, I'm the first one one the other side with a smile on my face. And sometimes not when the line is at the edge of a cliff.

Miffed;-)

Partially correct.

What you are missing is the following:

Even though attempts were made to alter the New Testament, they were unsuccessful. We know this because there are papyri from the 1st and 2nd century that can be compared to later manuscripts, so you are incorrect that the New Testament has been altered in any way, shape, or form. In addition, the Bible proves itself to be His word by (1) virtue of fulfilled prophesy, (2) it's writers from diverse ages, backgrounds, nations and tongues, who all wrote a book with a coherent, cohesive, compelling account from Genesis to Revelation, (3) it's candor, and (4)the preservation and integrity of its contents throughout history.

Here are the facts regarding "christianity":

True Christianity has existed since the days of Christ (1st century), and it still exists to this day. The great apostacy that occured under Constantine in the 3rd century should not surprise anyone- it was foretold to occur in 2 Thessalonians 2:1-12: https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=2+Thessalonians+2%3A1-12

Constantine founded the Roman (apostate) church (franchise).

From the Roman franchise sprang Orthodox and Catholic "christian" franchises.

From the Catholic franchise sprang Lutheran, Anglican, Methodist, Baptist, Pentecostal and all other forms of "christian" franchises. These all retain most of the pagan teachings (which aren't found in the Bible) of the Roman franchise.

True Christianity can only be found by accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and Redeemer- putting your faith in Him, praying for Him to open your eyes as you study His word, the Bible.

Anyone who says you must pay them to learn what Christianity is, is operating a franchise.

"For there is one God, and one mediator also between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave Himself as a ransom for all, the testimony given at the proper time" - 1 Timothy 2:5-6

Captain,

If you spend some time looking at John Bartram's Work, you'll see that the predecessors were from Mithraism, Egypt, and the Chrestus (meaning Good or Useful) Cults  that made its way around.

Chrestus cults are the key - they're probably "the" proto Xians.

Funny thing, is that after Xianity became the Official Religion of the Empire, the Empire's (fiscal and politica) situation was FUBAR; and fell approximately 25 Years later - ushering in the Dark Ages.

Several hundred years later, we have some idiot Monk establish the Anno Domini (AD) Timeline (in the 6th Century) - backdating from when the Xian Worldview thought it was going to be all over and done with and eveyones hanging out with Jesus (it's past that by a few hundred years, so we can probably say that Xianity Technically "Failed" somewhere in the 11th/12th Century).

Several hundred years later, in order to separate the Solstice from Xmas, the Gregorian Calendar was introduced...

Icings on the Cake?  There are no Gospels and Xian Bibles written prior to the 4thCE; and the Dead Sea Scrolls don't contain the Gospels at all...

After Christ died the Apostles were all killed and that left a bishop in each of the major christian churches hoping to be number one.  The bishop of Jerusalem and the bishop of Rome fought it out and the result was the bishop of Rome claimed to rule the church and became the Pope.  God had little to do with this struggle and the resultant claim to leadership of the catholic church.  Disclosure: I am not catholic but I read history.

If there is a biblical god, which is extremely unlikely, and humans are his creation, and Jews his chosen people............who would worship such a seriously flawed deity? Any god powerful enough to create the amazing universe we live in, AND THEN created the amazingly defective human species, was obviously going downhill fast, and is now just too embarassed to show his glowing face in these parts.

Agreed.  And furthermore, the Ancient Tribesmen (goat/sheep herders) clearly knew nothing about Astronomy or Astrophysics:  That there are more Stars in the known Universe than there are grains of sand on all the beaches in the world.  Then add all the planets and moons that go with each Sun.  Holy cow... They knew jack shit!

For it they did, they would not write BS like "Walking with God", or God calling out them ("Adam, where are you?") in the Garden of Eden, etc etc.

If you think of the mind-blowing energies and -- this is even more crucial -- the Energy Density associated with 'merely' one Black Hole (and "ruling over it" with even greater power than the Black Hole itself), then this Energy is enough to vaporize the entire Planet Earth in an instant.  And never mind what happens to alleged Adam, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Moses... allegedly walking, talking or even wrestling with 'God'.

Now, if you had said that 'God' was a very advanced and Humanoid Space Alien, whose people did some Terra-forming, and 'The Architect' was really the 'Chief Genetic Architect', who messed with monkey DNA or the DNA or Cavemen, then... yes, the stuff in the OT makes a tad more sense and passes the immutable Laws of Nature (of being able to Walk with or Wrestle with God).

And please don't insult my intelligence with some BS ideological construct of some 'Deity' being "above" Nature.  That merely shifts the question one level up:  Who made God?  Nobody?  He is eternal?  Great!  Then the Universe is like your construct of God:  Eternal and has no Beginning, ha no End and has no Maker.  Your construct is a pure figment of ancient ideas and unverifiable proclamations, but my Claim is very much verifiable:  it's called Science.  And that which we cannot yet verify or explain, I'll dismiss with the same escapist Red Herring that Theologians like to use:  "Nature moves in mysterious ways.  She will reveal Herself when we are ready and worthy."   Etc, etc...

If there's a "Guy in the Sky", it's either "Q" or the Captain of a Starship.  None to beam up.

On top of all that the supposed holy scriptural old testament and new testament accounts have both been thoroughly frigged with, during the past ~1900 years (alone, lets not forget, some of these books are much older than that) as the following document buried in about 125 AD attests to, as it is the then original story of The Beginning, otherwise known as the first ~5 Chapters of what is now called 'Genesis', and it is entirely different and actually almost unrecognizable from what was 'translated' as the King James Bible Genesis version in the 15th century, from earlier Latinized 'transcriptions' of another allegedly holy creation story - entirely.

On the Origin of the World -- The Nag Hammadi Library

It kinda pulls back the curtain of the religion 'Wizard', but such is the nature of man-made verbal 'religious' narratives, regarding their great goat-herder in the sky.  :D

Thus in the intervening 1400 year period, the European priestly 'guardians' of the holy words of 'God' the shepherd, and Christianity for the sheep, had done a fair bit of creative editing of said 'Good News' gospel and its books.

Frankly, the 125 AD version was vastly more interesting and imaginative ... but unfortunately it possessed far less political and social utility ... so it just had to go ... and the popes had said the mighty Sky-Shepherd was A-OK with making up a whole new load of utter bollocks, in order to save the sheep from themselves, to make sure none of the truth leaked out and caused them disturbance.

But yea, verily, it dideth anyways.

"Saving banks at any cost, making the public pay the price, foregoing a firm commitment to reviewing and reforming the entire system, only reaffirms the absolute power of a financial system, a power which has no future and will only give rise to new crises."

BUT....

""To manage the global economy; to revive economies hit by the crisis; to avoid any deterioration of the present crisis and the greater imbalances that would result; to bring about integral and timely disarmament, food security and peace; to guarantee the protection of the environment and to regulate migration: for all this, there is urgent need of a true world political authority,"

So basically he's saying that the solution to Government POWER without ACCOUNTABILITY resulting in the sacrifice of society to the benefit of politically connected banks is...

DRUMROLL...

... to give some group of people EVEN MORE power, with EVEN LESS ACCOUNTABILITY.

I was raised a Catholic but haven't been to a church in nearly 40 years. I stopped going principally because at one point they asked everyone to double their annual Christmas contributions to build a new school - and then they had the audacity to actually publish in the Sunday letter the contributors and the amount of the contributions.

I think this pope is sticking his nose in places it has no business. Earlier this week it was global warming, now it is banking. He should work on problems close to home - perhaps with a religious theme.

Speaking out on the world's condition and how it contradicts the teachings and beliefs of the Catholic faith is one thing, but recommending worldly proggie/commie politics as the only solution despite all recent world history to the contrary is something else entirely.  It seems like a backhanded attempt to return the Church to its medieval influence by aligning its message with prog fellow travelers. Sorry, this guy keeps it up, and another great separation will be the result. Like Obammie, just another Manchurian.

From the Bible we get this:

"And he said, This will be the manner of the king that shall reign over you: He will take your sons, and appoint them for himself, for his chariots, and to be his horsemen; and some shall run before his chariots. And he will appoint him captains over thousands, and captains over fifties; and will set them to ear his ground, and to reap his harvest, and to make his instruments of war, and instruments of his chariots. And he will take your daughters to be confectionaries, and to be cooks, and to be bakers. And he will take your fields, and your vineyards, and your oliveyards, even the best of them, and give them to his servants. And he will take the tenth of your seed, and of your vineyards, and give to his officers, and to his servants. And he will take your menservants, and your maidservants, and your goodliest young men, and your asses, and put them to his work. He will take the tenth of your sheep: and ye shall be his servants. And ye shall cry out in that day because of your king which ye shall have chosen you; and the Lord will not hear you in that day."

And from the Pope we get this:

"""To manage the global economy; to revive economies hit by the crisis; to avoid any deterioration of the present crisis and the greater imbalances that would result; to bring about integral and timely disarmament, food security and peace; to guarantee the protection of the environment and to regulate migration: for all this, there is urgent need of a true world political authority,"

I am so very glad I am not Catholic, and am not compelled to think this man other than what he is: A statist of the first order, and one who would sacrifice all the humble people of the earth to his "world political authority"...a golden calf.

The man is an open marxist, preaching openly and clearly the OPPOSITE of what any fool can read for himself.  And he's a cynical one.

What do we need a world political authority for?  So they can graduate from tens of milllions of murders to hundreds-of-millions or billions?

I am atheist with zero love for religion. However, not only am I for the Pope's stance here, but I am also surprised at peoples' responses to it.

In my opinion, the Pope had said nothing more than anyone of us at Zero Hedge hasn't already said before. Bailing out banks and making us pay for it, delaying or watering down reforms to knock these swines into line and keeping the few in power for longer with more power.

Nothing that I can disagree with. I think what annoyed him were comments from the banking industry about doing "god's work" when god's representative (whether he is or isn't, that's a topic for another time) clearly thinks they are not. Don't try and use religion to justify your obscene jobs and industry.

Now, the Pope does need to get his house in order (rampant paedophillia, corruption and abuses of power, to name but a few),I get that. But that shouldn't detract from what he said, which, in my opinion, is nothing we haven't already said here....

But, hey, what do I know...?

Thank you, well said. It does no good for people to critisize everyone. If someone says something as honest as what the Pope has articulated, he needs to be praised, especially when such an obvious truth is beyond the scope of reporting from our won corproate media trash. If people critisize everything, they just become background noise...not to menction, while the Catholic Church is indeed troubled morally, it pails in all regards to the war and genocide propigated by the zionist bankers movement.

Sounds a lot like father Coughlin in his radio show in the 1930's which was listened to weekly by 60 million Americans. The only difference is that Father Coughlin blamed it all on the Jews, while the pope just refers to the International bankers. Everyone was on to this in the 1930's and you know what happened as a result  - they started a World War.

Is History once again destined to repeat itself?  Those who do not learn the lessons and mistakes  of history  -are doomed to repeat them.
