Iconic Dukes of Hazzard Car 'General Lee' Stripped Of Confederate Flag: "This Is A New Level Of P.C. Idiocy"

They’ve been pushing for it for over 150 years and this year the politically correct anti-Confederate flag movement may have finally achieved its ultimate goal. Following a racially driven shooting spree that left nine people dead at a church in Charleston, the governor of South Carolina is pushing legislation to have the flag removed at any government buildings where it currently flies. In Alabama, the governor has ordered Confederate flag “paraphernalia” removed from the Confederate Memorial Monument.
Major retailers like Amazon, Ebay, and Walmart immediately jumped on board and have now removed confederate flags from their listings. Paul Joseph Watson highlights the sheer ridiculousness of the move, noting that while Amazon has removed memorabilia featuring the flag of the Confederacy, they continue to allow the sale of items featuring Nazi emblems and Swastikas.
But the idiocy, based on absolutely no logical reasoning except that this is the perfect crisis to not let go to waste, doesn’t stop there.
Warner Bros. has announced that it has halted production of toys and replicas of the iconic Dukes of Hazzard sports car known as the General Lee.
Dukes of Hazzard, a staple TV show of the early 1980’s, featured what may possibly be the most popular and most recognizable car in American history.
As of today, that car will no longer feature the confederate flag on its roof.
The Confederate flag may or may not be removed from government buildings in South Carolina, but the relic is definitely being removed from at least one southern icon. Warner Bros. today announced that it was halting production of toys and replicas of the General Lee, the car from the Dukes of Hazzard, which famously bore the flag on its roof.

As recently as 2012 Warner Bros. quashed rumors that it was planning to remove the Confederate flag from toy versions of the General Lee. “We were not and are not planning to change design of the General Lee on merchandise,” the company said at the time, after a Tomy sales representative reportedly indicated production would cease in 2013.
Ben Jones, who played good ‘ol boy Cooter on the show and had a crush on leading lady Daisy Duke, responded to the removal of the flag, echoing the general sentiment of many Americans who find the move by major retailers and political leaders to be overkill:
Some unnamed genius at the company feels that the flag is ‘offensive to some’ and therefore it has no business on a classic TV comedy about a bunch of good ol’ boys and girls in the Southern mountains

We’re sure that the next crisis will lead to the complete removal of any references to the South’s involvement in the Civil War, including the removal of the very name of the vehicle, The General Lee, named after the man who led the South’s armies against the north.
No proposed names have yet been put forth, but some politically correct replacements may include:

- The General Sharpton
- The General Obama
- and, since the iconic car may now openly identify as being more feminine than masculine, The General Pelosi has kind of a ring to it.

When I was undergoing my progressive indoctrination in college in the seventies, I could have sworn it was all about tolerance. They never explained that tolerance only goes one way. I guess progressives have "progressed".

It has become painfully obvious to me that I have contributed to this disaster by my non confrontational passivity. Event: High school graduation (large public school with large Muslim population)
Announcement at event: Break for Ramadam prayers for the approx 20% population of Muslims students (of course, no prayer allowed for Christians or others at these events)
Next Accouncment: Acknowledgment for those students who are entering military academies or military service
Results: Non-Muslims clapped. Muslim population either sat in silence or booed loudly.
Shock and surprise ("Did that just happen?") from participants. I was not there but family member was. If I were there I would've responded to the boos. Guaranteed.

Mean while the blacks from outside the area are doing home invasions and the pigs don’t give a shit. They are dialing in on the ethnic whites, like the pigs and the nigs are on the same team.
The neighborhood deli is run by Jim, an immigrant, a good dude that doesn’t take any shit. I walked in at eight, just as the sun went down. I came right up to the counter and said to Jim, “I’m getting an iced coffee.”
Twilight is my favorite time to relax.
A guy comes in, like a six foot tall black dude, tall, skinny. All of a sudden this other guy comes in slamming the door and hooting like a fucking ape. He’s got a work belt with the corded utility knife on it, making loud noises. The guys behind the counter were spooked but Jimmy stayed cool. I turn and look and the guy is looking right at me, scanning the place. We lock eyes—just one of those moments. He looks at me again and I’m still looking at him and he says, “Yo, what are you lookin’ at—why you fuckin’ grillin’ me?”

This eye lock goes for another three seconds. I knew right away I shouldn’t have verbalized. I know he’s pissing on his territory—might as well be lifting his leg and sniffing asses—just an animal. But its bullshit, bullshit I didn’t have time for. He backs up a little bit and I notice his box cutter on his work belt in plain sight, so I look at it.
He goes, with his head swaying, “Oh, so you a construction worker. You should be used to loud noises.”
An olive branch of respect extended by the employed hoodrat, in whose world “real white boys” are seen as construction workers. The fact that he has gotten a job means that he has aspirations that his fellows regard derisively as “white.” This fool could be cultivated as an ally by an astute survivalist. Daniel does not pick up on this until I point it out in the interview.

Now I’ve got two guys looking at me. I remember I’m wearing my tank top and its hot—he’s not stepping to me, and maybe looking for a way out. So as I’m walkin’ out past him and the light skinny dude—who both act like their waiting for something—he’s looking at me and I’m looking at him and I say, “Have a nice day.”
The skinny dude says, “It’s already a nice day!”
The moment he says that a much larger dude, like a three hundred pound monster, who was obviously parking the car, walks through the door and I’m like, Oh shit!
So I say, “Alright then, have a better day!”
Then I stayed outside, kind of hot over this, for about twenty seconds, standing by the trash can, not relaxing, not enjoying the twilight, but wanting to wring some fucking necks. These guys were in their twenties, obviously employed, not criminals. But still, why do blacks have to bring so much aggression wherever they go? There is no living with them.
You seem like the only dude in Baltimore who has figured this out, can interact with these animals like some ape-whisperer. Yeah, you're right. I don't know what the hell has happened to this site over the past year or so. Some of these stories attract comments that Stormfront and Chimpout would moderate.
I've lived in an inner city for about 30 years myself. Actually, when I was very small (1968-1969) I lived in a truly dangerous inner city. The only daycare available was run by the Black Panthers. My mom took me there. The Panthers were perfectly happy to have a blond, blue-eyed toddler running around with the other 30 black toddlers. They were just trying to get shit done, in a place that had been completely looted, gutted, and left to bleed out by TPTB. We never had a single problem with black people.
What you do in the inner city is not make gratuitous eye contact and hold it too long, because that sends the message that you're up to something. Just walking along confidently, with a pleasant look on your face, like you know where you are and what you're doing and where you're going, and you're not going to cause anybody any trouble; that's what works. The goal is to avoid being panhandled. That's the actual danger to a white person in a black part of town. And you might get teased a little, to which you respond like anyone would; with a quick smile.
These people seem to have read "The Turner Diaries" in PDF form online and are nurturing some sick fantasies in their suburban apartments. They obviously don't have any idea what life is like in the inner city.
Hell, my kids just finished their Junior and Freshman years in high school, respectively. They've been the only white kid in a class of 35. Certainly the only middle-class kid of any ethnicity. They've never given it a second thought. Nor have they ever been in a fight, or bullied, or victimized in any way. They can actually tell a story and describe the people in it, without thinking to assign racial labels unless it's relevant to the story or the language or the accent to tell the story. They can ride their bikes past the dope dealers on the corner, smile, say "s'up," and move on; neither has any business with the other nor any problem. They can get along with the "aggressive women," and get past "aggression and pack cohesion" without falling into the state of "alienation of potential victims." My kids have learned firsthand, all their lives, it's not hard to avoid a completely imaginary scenario.
It's not that there aren't racial tensions and animosities. There most certainly are. It's as you said, "They don't give a shit about you." These "Unique Snowflakes" need to get over themselves, quit flattering themselves, and realize that almost everybody in the world is just trying to get shit done with the least hassle possible. What a bunch of narcissistic chickenshits.

The confederate batttle flag did not come into mainstream use in the south until the 1950's in response to the civil rights movement. It was meant as a direct rebuke to desegregation. Symbols evolve, devolve. They are used by different people, for different reasons, to represent different things. A flag is an inanimate object. People infuse it with various things. People can take it up as a logo for what they want it to represent. Good or bad. Personally, I see the Confederate flag negatively. For more than one reason. I would guess that the people who created that flag, did not have as it's main intent, to represent that we want slavery. It was inherent in the system that the flag was for. But I don't think it was the main intent. The current U.S. flag can be seen as a symbol of some negative things. Even in it's static state for many decades, it has been seen at different times and places, to represent positive and negative. Even in the U.S. itself.
In some ways, I see that the Confederate flag has been softened from many of the things it represented. Not really positively ( in my sober opinion ). It has gained a following of the "YeeeHaww!!!!!" A sizable portion of the YeeHaw do not consciously associate the flag with racism, slavery, etc. They relate it more to, well, YeeHaw!!! ( In my less sober opinion ). It is often a flag of the party, party. It is flown in times and places of our life that are YeeHaw, that are completely apart from it's portion of original intent. It can be, and more often as time goes by, be just the rebel flag. A symbol of small personal rebellion against who knows what. The civil war was not all about slavery, racism. Though it was a big part of the society that took up that flag. Going forward, we saw that racism was not the monopoly of those that were under that flag. The current U.S. flag flies as a symbol over a country that still has racial problems, as do many countries.
I do not automatically assume a person with a confederate flag displayed somewhere, in some way, is racist. I am a Canadian, living in Canada. I had a Canadian room mate who had a Confederate flag as a doorway curtain. This guy was not at all racist. The flag was all about him being a rebel. Well, he wasn't, isn't, much of a rebel either. It was flown/hung, with the desire to express his inner rebel. It is on the General Lee, for the same reason. It is displayed many places, for that same reason. Maybe even at the State government buildings for that reason. Macho, rebel, don't tread on me. I hope that there is an ever decreasing number of people in government, and electing government, that sees it as a wink, wink, to racism.
There are very intended symbols for racism. They too evolve. They are the worst ones. They are constantly modified secret signals. The real, hardcore racists know them. Modify them over time. But keep the meaning very much on point and alive. These are the ones that need to be out front in the news. These symbols represent an ever concentrated and vicious evil. Variations on Nazi symbols. Ones with no discernible roots, but represent the worst racial war cries. These symbols are hardly reported in the media. It would be good for us all to know them, for what they are. Maybe tattooed on a neck near you.
All in all, I think the Confederate flag, is devolving, evolving more to the YeeHaww, this time in my life, rebel flag. It should be taken down from official buildings, as a gesture of maturity, at least. State governments can demonstrate their independence by legislative action. Remove it as a simple act of officially distancing themselves from the other negative racial historical issues.
On a hat with a pair of beer cans with straws? On a kick ass Dodge Charger that never was leaped through the air with racist intent? On a belt buckle that cannot be seen under the beer gut? I think it is worn with just wistful rebel pride. Less than white pride. It is those other less known symbols that need to be watched and one day, permanently removed, along with the reasons for them.

For me the battle flag of the Confederate Army is a memorial to the bare foot bravery of those Southern men and children who were sucked into the vortex of a monstrous war which initially was all about taxation levied by northern industrial states against southern farmers rather than the issue of slavery.
