The punchline, which as we hinted earlier, is the biggest problem with the Greek referendum - there will be no deal to vote on since the program will expireon Tuesday night, which means the offer will be pulled.

The question is easy to answer. The referendum would need to be rephrased: "Do you prefer unconditional surrender to the TROIKA or the uncertainties of monetary independence?"

Referendum, first promising step in last 5 months but I would not hold my breath for ultimate solutions. Two questions:
First, what took them so long, Greeks were in the same position in mid February and they did not spend their billions $ reserves yet back then. They initially clearly stated old program is dead. Negotiations are supposed to be about packaged ,organized bankruptcy with 90% debt write off. later they reneg on this negotiating point. The latest negotiation failed because troika reject plan to reduce security and military spending and raise taxes for rich to cover pensions. It is hard to see any gaming strategy unless you have .45 under the table.
Second, why referendum about continuation austerity program alone. The elections were about austerity and clear mandate was given.
The referendum should be weather or not to leave eurozone or continue austerity and further collapse economy as before. That would be new mandate for Greek government.
Depending how the referendum is phrased there could be different outcome. Prepare for massive anti Syriza propaganda in the west and in Greece.
Keep in mind that EU depends on illusion that everything could be solved within recalcitrant bureaucratic structures in Brussels. it is a house of cards. So do not expect making big deal in MSM about Greek default.
Did you noticed that Ukraine defaulted on their debt just few day ago and hence universal default has been declared, CDS payouts were activated. Not many do. IMF will fall silent on missing payment. The same will be with Greece, just swiped under the rug and paid off directly to creditors via another fancy program for TBTF banksters.

If they knew what they are not supposed to know, they would vote to abolish existing Greek governments, and set new guards for their rights… as American Founders did 240 years ago.
Most people think that only Americans and Englishmen have this right to abolish governments; not true. Yes, only English/Americans have openly declared this right; which, actually, is neither a right nor singular: it is a complex of powers. But, in reality, all men have this “power”; and, only English/Americans (and Athenians (year minus 509)) have ever known it, and used it.
The particular issue here (and one that all nations must eventually face) is the validity of debt supposedly payable by each nation/people involved.
A debt is valid only if those purportedly liable for it 1) personally participated in its negotiation; 2) had full understanding of its terms; 3) received benefits equal to the amount loaned; 4) were not misled or subjected to undue influence relative to such debt; and 5) the creditor has adequate evidence of all these requirements (and maybe more).
These are issues Greeks (and all other nations) must ponder… but won’t; for, they have no knowledge of REAL facts of what American Founders did.
The situation in question requires much more than merely “pondering” particular issues. It requires action on a most profound (nation-building) level.
And, it can’t be done in a week.
How long will it take?
The English early declared their right of redress with the Magna Charta. It took them 400 years and oceans of blood before they developed reasonably effective methods to redress grievances.
That is, before a nation can merely declare this power, it must first be introduced to it (One and Two).
