Ok. The good people I knew in the military, including junior to mid-level officers when I became a young officer from enlisted, LEFT during the Iraq fiasco. Since then the military has suffered an extreme leadership vacuum. Officers, NCOs, anyone who was aware and had principles or thought outside-the-box just left. It was fucking bullshit from the start, and anyone who had been in for a few years prior to 9/11 knew it was fucking bullshit.

The generals and anyone O-6 and above (Full chicken Colonel to the uninitiated) is a political appointee. Lieutenants, Captains and Majors are the field grade officers that would have a chance at loyalty as well as the Sargent Majors (top enlisted rank).
Field grade officers could, but it would be unlikely. The chain of command has been becoming more top-down command and control. Maybe National Guard units could have a chance at your scenario, but they don't even let most units keep their arms in the armory any longer.
I could see a East Germany style stand-down as a possibility (they refused to fire on the people crossing the wall).
I'm a native born Texan and I'd love to think this as as well (I will pretend I do, I'm not leaving). I'm in a position to see most walks of life in regards to using a gun and I'd be stunned if 1% handed their kids a gun telling them to kill/defend for their future freedom.

The US government won that particular nasty war and everyone involved (mostly from the North) should have been imprisoned for war crimes.

As far as I am concerned, they have earned rights to NOTHING.
But it is the trators on the Supreme Court who we should really be angry at. They are going rogue and making up law as they go. There are no such things as "constitutional rights". Your rights come from God your creator. The Constitution applies to the governments and the governments are supposed to protect tyour rights. If it weren't for governments getting into the marriage contract would this be an issue?

The weirdest thing I ever had happen to me with a mystery person was when I was in highschool. It was close to Christmas and I was going to go into McDonalds (cant believe I ate that) there was a very clean looking bag lady outside and I gave her a couple bucks on my way in since it was Christmas and all. She comes in gets food and sits next to me and strikes up a conversation, she is super intelligent.
While she is talking I notice she has a thin moustache, a large adams apple and very noticeable boobs that do not at all appear fake??? Then she/he starts telling this bazarre schizophrenic story claiming she was a mechanic in the Air Force and they were telling her she needed surgeries but we're really experimenting on her because she was the only known hermaphrodite that both sets of organs were functioning. WTF over?
