Black Churches Are Burning Across The South, Arson Eyed

Tyler Durden's picture

Following the murder of nine African American churchgoers in Charleston, South Carolina last month, we said the following about the current state of American society:

The riots that left Baltimore in ashes in late April and the massacre that occurred last week at the historic Emanuel AME church in Charleston serve as vivid reminders of the extent to which American society now teeters perpetually on the edge of social upheaval. Increasingly, those who feel ‘the system’ has somehow failed them are turning to violence as a means of addressing their grievances, which betrays a complete lack of faith in the government’s ability to help create the conditions under which groups and individuals with divergent interests can coexist without sinking into a Hobbesian state of nature.

We then made the following admittedly stark prediction: "Ultimately, it appears America has become a country wherein everyone feels marginalized and/or aggrieved in one way or another. In the absence of a dramatic societal reboot, we fear social instability is likely here to stay."

That assessment appears to have been quite accurate because over the course of just two weeks, six predominantly African American churches in the US have burned, with authorities suspecting arson in several of the blazes. NY Times has the story:

Ivestigators sifted through the burned-out shell of a black church here on Wednesday, trying to determine the cause of a fire that has left residents here anguished.

Williamsburg County officials said the fire at the Mount Zion A.M.E. Church, which took more than two hours to extinguish, began around 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday and burned through the church’s roof. Lightning storms moved through the area overnight.

The fire came as the authorities in Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee investigated blazes at other churches, most of them predominantly black. Although the authorities have concluded that some of those fires were arson, officials have not yet described any of the episodes as hate crimes.

One of the fires was caused by lightning and another was electrical. Investigators also said there was no evidence that the fires at the churches were linked.

Still, it’s difficult to ignore the trend — especially in light of recent events. Indeed, Mount Zion has burned to the ground before. 20 years ago, two Ku Klux Klan members pleaded guilty to civil rights charges on the heels of a fire at the church. Here’s AFP:

"There are still a lot of questions to be answered," Williamsburg County chief deputy sheriff Stephen Gardner told reporters in Greeleyville when asked Wednesday about the cause of the Mount Zion fire.

"We haven't ruled anything in or anything out at this point," added Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) agent Craig Chilcott, as sniffer dogs helped police and fire investigators comb through the church ruins.

Mount Zion last burned to the ground in June 1995, in a fire that prompted the arrest of two Ku Klux Klan members in their early 20s.

The pair got prison terms after pleading guilty to federal civil rights charges, while the church won a $37.8 million lawsuit against the Christian Knights of the Ku Klux Klan and its South Carolina leader.

"Because of its prominence in the African-American community, the church has historically been a target of arson and destruction by bigots and white supremacists," said the department's National Church Arson Task Force, launched by then-president Bill Clinton in the aftermath of the 1995 Mount Zion fire.

In addition to the fire at Mount Zion, Glover Grove Baptist Church in Warrenville, South Carolina burned down on June 26, Briar Creek Road Baptist Church in North Carolina was reduced to ashes on June 24, God's Power Church Of Christ in Macon, Georgia was found on fire with the front doors wired shut on the 23rd, and bales of hay as well as a church van were set alight in front of College Hill Seventh Day Adventist church in Knoxville, Tennessee on June 21. Here are the visuals:

*  *  *

So while the jury is still out (so to speak) on whether there is indeed some discernible connection between the incidents shown above, it does appear that at least some of these fires were set intentionally which would seem to be further evidence that the fabric of American society may be ripping apart at the seams and we suspect that when December rolls around and we once again review the most-read posts of the preceding 12 months, we'll find that for the second year running, "civil unrest" is a common thread.

Why is it that I have a little voice suggesting that at least one of these is an arson job by a black agitator on his own kind to further the racial division?

Not this shit again!    The same allegations happened during the Clinton Administration.     Most of these churches are old, have terrible electrical issues, etc

The finding back then were the same.     Most were just because of age or neglect.    There were also 'non black' churches that burned down during the same period -- for the same reasons.

It's just amazing that people dig up the same crap every decade....

The Church of the Multiplication where Jesus fed the crowd with loaves and fishes was burned to the ground. A group of teenaged Israeli settlers were captured but released by police. This is part of an ongoing campaign of "price tag attacks" carried out by settlers against mosques and churches. Another church was defaced with the words, "Jesus is garbage."

Historically in the South, most  suspicious church fires are set in order to collect on insurance money. I think recent events just offered a good cover in hopes of throwing arson investigators off the trail of those who truly caused the fires.

Well as a general rule, I've found the "black churches" to be pretty cool, at least the ones I've been in around here (central Florida).

Just regular people who happen to be black and like to socialize with other blacks that live around them, I've never been made to feel uncomfortable personally, almost the opposite, going out of their way to make "whites" feel at home.

Maybe its different in other places, I don't know.

Just keep in mind that the AME church in Charleston was a church in name only.  They were the primary funding and logistical support for the protest movements in Sanford, FL (Trayvon), Ferguson, and Baltimore.   They are the ones that pay for Sharpton and Jackson to show, and make sure the Trayvon's mother (and entorage) gets first class round trip tickets to Geneva.

That might well account for why Roof target them.  It might just have been more a strategic hit than an "I hate these 9 blacks and will shoot them now" kinda thing.

Well, theres a lot of bullshit wrapped up in a Jeremiah Wright-type church.

I think most "folks" (lol) try to keep the mortal and immortal separate...black or white...its one (or was one) of the pillars of our society, the separation of church and state.

The right reverend Wright is a political activist more than a pastor and to go through Chicago as a black, one needs to make ones bones in that enviroment, as callous and self serving as that is...(which says a lot of how religion is abused but thats a different topic) which I have always viewed as, THAT church and Wright being no more than a vehicle for the narcissist (Obama) to gain leverage & power, not a house of worship where people go to show reverence and faith.

A sort of pay homage or tribute to man & political power, not to God sort of place.

Not a false flag, not even really news.  I am in a business that deals with arson and this happens all the time and isn't arson.  If it's arson, they generally know right off the bat.

This one it appears to have been a lightning strike!  But the news media wants to push the arson angle and will - even beyond when it is established it wasn't arson.

Churches burn, they just do.  Although I have a current client (church) that was arson and barely hit the news.  Why?  Almost all white, so no story.

Arson's pretty easy to do. There's an automotive repair garage near me that burned down a while ago. This building was concrete block walls with only wooden rafters. It was after midnight, no lightning or storm. I smelled smoke and thought someone was burning garbage.  I know the state investigators checked over it at least twice. It was almost certainly set. The owner claimed he had no insurance, which i doubt. When the arsonist doesn't use any accelerent(gasoline, kerosene, etc), it's nearly impossible to pin down. I've heard of many similar ones over the years.

Those who act morally because they believe that such behavior is logical and reasonable are likely more trustworthy than those who only refrain from theft, rape and murder because they fear supernatural punishment.

I don't mean the guy to whom you're responding, the church burning guy, he's an idiot. At this point he'd likely  be better of if he was afraid of supernatural punishment as it's obvious that he hasn't yet grasped what it means to live a rational life.

Billy, you are a guy who obviously does not need to go to Church. When I go to Mass...which is not too often...it is to get in touch with the source energy. I rarely find it. Sometimes I do. When I look into the night sky and gaze at the stars every once in awhile I am lucky enough to see a shooting star.  I will never stop looking at the night sky.

I dated this athiest chick in college and she told me about a visit she had made to Europe and happened to visit some church. She described the way the lights flowed through the stained glass and the soft voices of the choir warming up before Mass. She commented....I almost believed in God for a bit there. I am gen X female, its not any better being liberated and free under the mantra of 'modern' families... all my friends marriages and lives are crumbling and reforming in ways that make everyone angry. Its not great for the kids.

The elites have turned all morality on its head.  The key is what they did to money. By replacing sound money with debt money they conjured a world where everything money touched had to be upended as well.

Priests and kings have traditionally been charged with the duty of maintaining proper weights and measures. Accuracy is necessary if those who buy are to trust that they wont be cheated. But the evil alchemy of the elites found a way around this. They allow proper weights and measures but have the ability to manipulate the other half of every transaction -- the money. It's as if they had their thumb on every scale in the world and they stealthily take their cut.

They reached into the home and took women away from what feminists call "undervalued" work so that the feeding and care of the family became just another part of the service sector now available to be milked because it had been monetized. The list goes on and on. The upside down world looks crazy, random and preposterous but it is the necessary framework for the elites' plans.

Actually, Billy, it is inconsistent for an atheist to believe in morality per se.  If there is no purpose for life or the universe, then there is no meaning or right or wrong.  If we got here by evolution we did it by "survival of the fittest" our way to the top, which pretty much means eating and out-mating our neighbors.  Nature rewards rape, murder and sometimes cannibalism.  Marquis de Sade was the consistent atheist.  In his words, "Whatever I do is right."  What he did was torture people for pleasure, among other things...

Why do you need to believe in an unseen world which you will inhabit after death in order to give your real life meaning? Sounds like a personal problem.

If that's what it takes for you then fine but don't pretend that you know the hearts and minds of others.

Nature does not reward rape and murder. Natural law invests each individual with the right to not be assaulted and the responsibility not to assault others. If nature is God's creation how can someone who claims to love God hate his work so vehemently?

As for your premise that de Sade was an atheist and that proves that all atheists are bad please take a look at all the Christians who have committed terrible crimes and ask yourself, "Does their behavior determine who I am?"

I don't need religion to teach me morals.

Of course not. That is why you advocate the destruction of another's property because they have a different belief than you. That is moral by your code..

You do not need to learn about property rights or the freedom of expression of beliefs of others.

Property Rights and Freedom of Expression are immoral and religion will not ever teach you that...except...some actually do...

So I guess you are no better than those who you demonize, are you?

But now that I am thinking about it you must have learned it from the Government. Yeah. Janet Reno taught that morality back in April, 1993, when they burned the BranchDavidian Church to the ground.

Yeah you are right. It is moral after all. Government morality and all of that.

Quid Pro Quo; this for that, and...

Retribution + Compound Interest = Justice + Deterrence

This "turning the other cheek" stuff was only in the context of sometimes being open to forgiveness, instead of being auto-locked into endless retribution cycles.

Not quite, Kirk.

Here are Jesus' words:

"Do to others as you would have them do to you." - Luke 6:31

Quite different than what you stated.

As is this:

"Dear friends, never take revenge. Leave that to the righteous anger of God. For the Scriptures say, "I will take revenge; I will pay them back," says the LORD." - Romans 12:19

And, as far as forgiveness is concerned- the message Christ gave is immortalized in His prayer (pay close attention):

“And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words. Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.

“This, then, is how you should pray:

“Our Father in heaven,

hallowed be your name,

your kingdom come,

your will be done,

on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us today our daily bread.

And forgive us our debts,

as we also have forgiven our debtors.

And lead us not into temptation,

but deliver us from the evil one.’

For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins." - Matthew 6:5-14

Did you pay attention to the bold words?

If you did- bless you. and all you share this with!

Suggesting all churches should burn is a clear indication you yourself are not free. A free person would not resort to such judgement. I do not go to church but I honor the choice for anyone to do so. They may find something in it I never could.

I will say I have been in several missions in Cali that truly were spiritual places. The vibe was powerful there. Perhaps you just must be sensitive to such things and be willing to be still and notice.

Religion, as anything, can be twisted and used to enslave people spiritually, psychologically and physically. It is up to the individual to resist such forces. Be wise as a serpent and gentle as a dove.

Dollars to donuts it's the CIA, trying to stir up a 'race war' to justify a gov crackdown.

I have no evidence to say this, but I anticipate the MSM narrative falling apart in just this way via the internet over the next few weeks.

The timing is just too convenient for TPBP, who are very obviously anxious for some excuse to use their militarised 'police', and will need occupation for military returning from overseas geopolitical failures, especially as a currency and market crisis seems very imminent now. They need to distract people from the failures of the criminal government, and they imagine that all of us peasants are as race-obsessed as the MSM has tried to train us to be. If they can infringe a few more civil liberties while they're at it, well, it's easy to see where a 'race war' crisis would not go to waste. Charles Manson's Family theories vindicated at last - although only a cult member or an MSM disciple would believe them.

They need a war - any war - and if they can't get one going overseas then they'll settle for it here on this continent. That war machine REALLY needs to make a profit somewhere these days.

They'll also need a good excuse for mass interment of rioters, I expect. And the credibility-challenged MSM needs some viewers tuning in. So much potential economic benefit! IF they can get the peasants to play along one last time, that is.

All sheer speculation on my part but this is my default assumption right now. The CIA-Mossad terrorist partnership has form. They've been practicing with 'terrorist' event after 'terrorist' event for the last few years now, and those just aren't having the same effect they used to, are they. People aren't buying the narrative as easy as they used to. Look how fast Charlie Hebdo and the 'Sony hacking' fell apart, to use 2 of many examples. That pesky internet, blowing up the game, making even that ol' reliable 'lone gunman on the grassy knoll' story smell a little... funky... these days.

We'll see, but I don't think we have any further to look than the usual suspects in certain war-criminal governments.

"Israeli Sephardic leader Rabbi Ovadia Yosef in his weekly Saturday night sermon said that non-Jews exist to serve Jews.

“Goyim were born only to serve us. Without that, they have no place in the world; only to serve the People of Israel,” he said during a public discussion of what kind of work non-Jews are allowed to perform on Shabbat.

"Why are gentiles needed? They will work, they will plow, they will reap. We will sit like an effendi and eat," he said to some laughter.

Yosef, the spiritual leader of the Shas Party and the former chief Sephardi rabbi of Israel, also said that the lives of non-Jews are protected in order to prevent financial loss to Jews.

"With gentiles, it will be like any person: They need to die, but God will give them longevity. Why? Imagine that one’s donkey would die, they’d lose their money. This is his servant. That’s why he gets a long life, to work well for this Jew,” said the rabbi, who recently turned 90."

Little reported up to now, it is true that Black Churches are going up in smoke. And this has happened before, with little media attention. I suspect the race relations that media keeps hyping as wonderful and improving all the time, that in fact, they are growing worse by the day. Multi Ethnic paradise that liberals claim to have made since the 60's, are now facing failure. Everywhere across the globe, this liberal dream and liberal powered demand that multi ethnic cultures must be built wherever whites have a society or nation. The UK is prime example of this!
