This is good, I was always told growing up that if you don't want to work in a factory I had to go to college, so I did. Now I have a great job working with people, serving them drinks...it really worked out for me!

Yes and trickle up economics has proven to work. Robots taking over is fine, they improve productivity. A economy is about production, not about jobs. China is a manufacturing economy. Americans don't want to do manufacturing jobs. They are over educated in useless stuff and expensive. Productive jobs is not just about wages paid, it's about supplying the economy in volume, while reducing prices. This is what increases real wages. Productive jobs don't simply reward people with wages, they reward people with cheap products. If you seen how much machinery is involved in production, you wouldn't be saying such nonsense about robots removing jobs. Robots just remove the hard work, while humans focus on other types of jobs.
Remember in ancient times, where American children were taught in schools about the "Indians" accepting $25 or so of beads for the island of Manhattan. The children thought the Indians were foolish traders.
Americans today have traded what was the best country in the world for trinkets made in China. Methinks the Indians got a better deal. Maybe they had an idea of what Manhattan would become.
