Oh, well since he wasn't using an apostrophe....

He was using what's called a "closing single quotation mark" and he used it because he wasn't actually quoting someone.  In other words, he was correct and you're a moron....

He's talking about the apostrophe in "ATM's", which shouldn't be there.  It should be ATMs.  There is no apostrophe when pluralizing.

Non-morons know this.

Tell us that when a bunch of CIA/Mossad mercenaries show up.  You know, they'll all be dark skinned, bearded, and wearing black.  If you don't poop your pants when you see that then I'll eat my hat, after I actually make one so I have one to eat, out of cheese.

At least you didn't say all stereotypes.  They are a natural thing that we have programmed to help us survive and thrive.  So yes, let us get rid of the ones that are not true.  For example, the stereotype of Jewish bankers being smarter than than the rest of us and using that gift for our mutual benefit.  Also, the ridiculous idea that people who went to university to be professional politicians (indoctrinated in socialist control methods that will be used to enrich the bankers) know what is best for each of us and will only pursue those ends.  Finally, the idea that lawyers should be in charge of laws in any nation.  Lawyers are trained to argue the law, not make it.  It is almost as dumb as putting arms contractors in charge of foreign policy.  If you want war, put the MIC in charge (financed, co-inki-dink, by...bankers).  If you want a society where it is a criminal offense to fart in your general direction then go with lawyers.

I'm going to give you an up vote, because it's (partly) true. Syriza won the election on the premise of staying within the EZ & changing the deals with their debts from within - a can kicking exercise but with blackmail and intrigue thrown in to get the creditors to write off some of it and leave them alone with fiscal control. But of course one could argue that the writing was always on the wall for a Grexit and reversion to the drachma from the outset considering that the debts were untenable and Syriza was biting at the bit to get the German/ECB/IMF mon(k)eys off their backs.

Greeks are, for better or worse, european. Many do want to keep the euro and the massive stability/support that come from their richer neighbours. They just don't want the nagging, controlling and debt collecting bastards telling them what to do with their 11 million people (That's just shy of the population of London on a busy weekday for contrast). The IMF/Goldman Sachs definitely wants Greece to stay in the Euro and they want the ECB to take the brunt of the debt relief (While they keep the tally on their greek debt, the sneaky bastards). The Germans/ECB on the other hand, seem to be schizoid at the moment - wanting to kick Greece out and wanting to embrace them at the same time.

It's a formula 1 weekend at Silverstone so my mind is elsewhere but the Greeks would have to be batshit crazy not to take this opportunity to say NO/OXI at the referendum. It's a huge leverage for Syriza to get a debt relief deal of historic proportions. It's also, to me, a grand opportunity to see the possible beginnings of a RESET that I've been looking forward to for years if they decide to give the fat middle finger to both their creditors. Possibly. Hopefully.

BTW, I've never dated a Greek but met a few gals married to colleagues. IMO, they're either incredibly good looking or they're like incredibly hairy fat dogs with noses that would shame an arab. Ratio of 1:5 or thereabouts so the cartoon is not that far off.

Nothing to disagree here, just wonderering what makes my statement - partly  - true.

The figures are shown on occasions and the result is overwhelming every time. Something like 80%+ want to stay in the €.

The conclusion as to the motive is conjecture, but in fairness a no-brainer. Would you want your assets exchanged into Drachma, when you have an existing currency that maintains "some" of its value through the labour of countries such as Germany, Finland, Austria, Luxembourg and Netherlands?

Every donkey knows where a Drachma would be heading, yet most struggle accepting WHY a Drachma would be in free fall. National responsibility is low on the list of possible causes - again conjecture - but considerering the amount of blame shifting on others, it seems a fair accusation.

There is an air of national delusion present, which in its current form doesn't give much hope that anything would ever change there.

TBH if it weren't for my hard labour going down the drain thanks to the likes of the ECB and peripheral governments, I wouldn't give a flying fuck. To each his own. But not in this case. It is my labour that is supporting delusionals and leeches and I am more than fed up.

Interesting post. You've almost put yourself in the position of a greek, but not quite. So my original post is vidicated somewhat.

I can't know what is on the mind of an average greek, I can only put myself in his position and apply the data present about the general environment and population. It would appear as though they want to stay with the euro, but a euro that has put them in a position with unpayable debts, huge rises in unemployment, social disorder and wealth inequality. A quick extrapolation would easily give them the bigger picture that the same applies to every developed country using fiat teetering on the brink of reality, so logically, staying with it merely buys them time. It does not make the inevitable avoidable. It is delusional to live beyond one's means but not delusional to fight for a better future. It's pragmatic.

Yes, they would rather stay with the euro to kick the can a little bit more, but only if they can be comfortable - not living hand to mouth, not having austerity imposed on them, not living through one crisis after another each month and most importantly not having their (rather massive) greek pride injured by this humiliating subjugation. At some point the pain of reverting to the drachma is equal to the pain of the status quo so that is why they fight to get a better deal for themselves. An OXI vote gives them exactly that opportunity to fight for a better life. A rational greek can see that there's virtually no difference between the short term pain of the drachma and the long term pain of the current situation so it's either a better deal or else. See what I mean about you being partly true? Hey, the Greeks may indeed all turn out to be morons and accept more of the same on Sunday so you could be right.

It is indeed your labour that is supporting the Greeks so I am not without sympathy for us in the North. But our labour mostly support the banksters - the irresponsible, conniving bastards who fudged the accounts to make the massive loans that in turn made money out of thin air (it's called fractional reserve) - whose loans and batshit crazy business model went sour and they stuck us with the bill. We're not exactly bailing out Greece. We're still bailing out the banks. Just look at the proportion that goes to servicing the debts and it's true.

Yeah ZH did a story this year on how there is no Standard Accounting Practices for State Financial Reporting or Budgeting.

So each state is borrowing to make up for shortfalls, but also as TIA.com says they use the pensions as a credit card.

Thing is maybe we have to keep throwing meat to the bankers.

They will pick a country, US City, US State to Target... if they don't get to rape someone, then they go after smaller fish or turn over the whole cart.

Will they go after the whole EU & the USA to trigger a Depression & probably a war with Impressment?

Tick Tock. Question is when. They made our people stupid so that we would take on debt & consume & drive up Revenues for them. But why did they ruin the wage rates and open the borders?

They want to destroy the USA & it's Vision. EU & Scandinavia also. Now they say huge number of IS Recruits are from EU. oops. Unifying Europe had nothing to do with taking in Immigrate from every where, did it? US Constitution has nothing to do with taking in Immigrants from everywhere either.

Maybe Blacks and Hispanics have much lower debt levels, so they will come out looking okay.

I never liked the idea of the EU, since it means gradual loss of sovereignty to the member nations, but Greece's problems are not due to the EU. They are due to Greeks voting for socialist leaders who promised them free lunches.

Where do the rules say we have to have open borders?

And guess what I can't move to Eu if I wanted to, is that because we have account managers who consider me a profit center.

EU might have helped prevent internal wars and world wars, but now they have a new threat from CIA mujaheddin recruiting from immigrant families. But guess what you can capture, kidnap, and coerce people to be mujaheddin fighters.

Really. You sneak into this country, ILLEAGALY, and then scream for rights and privileges, while waving a foreign flag. Are you fucking joking?
There are a LOT of people that can't wait to square that circle. A lot. And a whole lot are unemployed, getting more pissed by the day.

There is not a lot of meat on the bone anymore. And what is there needs to go to those born here, first. And don't feed me this crap " work Americans won't do".

We are working our way up to a list. We prioritize our biggest Problems & Threats for the US Presidential Election.

Fact.

I say there are like 40 Big problems/issues/threats.

So, Trump is nailing a few that other are not willing to talk about.

And maybe we need a separate list of contenders that are willing to talk about the problems: Rand Paul, Don Trump, Bernie Sanders, Jim Webb, O'Malley, Jesse Ventura did some good work ...then the third party candidates. Sometimes it is Pat Buchanan that talks about what need to be said. Sometimes it is Ann Coulter that says it.

- Free Speech can't be defended by RINOs who can't say what needs to be said.

- Fine I am in left and right field

- Immigration & Open Borders
- Crime & Criminals coming over the border, no Documentation, No Birth Certificate
- Documentation provided by US States or maybe Federal Authorities to people with no provable heritage or identity
- Federal Protection & Flights & Shelters & Coordination to break state laws, local laws, or federal laws, and paying for many services

- Money in Politics
- Lawyers Destroying US Constitution and other Federal Laws, enabling them to make a career out of the destruction of laws
- Corporations, States, Federal Govt, making up their own accounting, mucho flexible, hiding the liability & deficit spending, moving assets or Instruments off balance sheet, Financial Ratings worth two hoots, administrative spending like royalty, overhead like royalty, risk placed on depositor or taxpayers

- Loss of memory of Anti-Trust Law
- Loss of Memory of Racketeering Laws
- Loss of Memory of Conflict of Interest & Financial Conflict of Interest Laws

- Revolving door to industry & vice versa
- Gift Giving to Government Employees, Officials in Leadership & Congress
- Corporations, PACs, Foundations are not People, are not Patriots

- Prison Sentences for Consensual Crimes, Pot, possession of medication not prescribed... WTF. If I want spiritual experiences, drug experiences, sexual experiences, or to take over the counter drugs or plant herbs for health or healing it has little to do with drug companies or government or news reporters... It is not news if a man and woman commit adultery, it is consensual, the wives and husbands can be informed... I just say it should not be in the papers or a concern of Government

Simplify, Streamline, Standardize... courts, civil courts, liability, health care, taxes, regulations, rules, Laws... finance... make it so a 12 year old can understand.

But thing is an investor from Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras can come to the USA and set up a business and bring in all employees from his home country.

With all of the unknowns in Free Trade, we can't audit the labor rights or labor practices which we compete with, ... well sweat shops can be set up in the USA... at part time wages, temporary wages, no benefits, lower wages than our minimum wage... and on and on.

This will be rapped up in TPP, TTIP, TISA, TAA, TAP or a future agreement or Treaty.

This is where the Euro is right now, the Honeymoon is over, and now it's time to pay the bill, you can't pay the bill so you'll be cleaning dishs for the rest of your life.

WWII did affect a huge part of the population.  And it did ground them solidly in the ways of reality.  It created a special generation, and Russia and other countries experienced that to an even larger degree, as their population was directly immersed in it.  The problem is, humans seem to have memories that last just a bit shorter than four years.  And all the people that learned the invaluable lessons from WWII are dying off.  We are set up now to repeat it all again.  That's how weak humans are.  They can learn valuable lessons, but they don't.  They can improve, but they don't. They are nearly exclusively interested only in their own welfare.  The dinosaurs hold the record for sticking around.  About 60 million years.  Chances for long term survival of our species?  (Try to imagine 60 million years, don't laugh too loud.)
