Massive "No" Demonstration Floods Athens' Syntagma Square As Tsipras Speaks - Live Webcast

Tyler Durden's picture

Shortly before Greek PM Tsipras spoke at today's huge "No" rally on Syntagma square, scuffles in the crowds of protesters broke out and police have resorted to stun grenades and tear gas.

As Reuters reported, "Greek police threw stun grenades and scuffled with protesters in central Athens on Friday, as a rally got under way in support of a 'No' vote in a Sunday referendum on whether to endorse an aid deal with creditors. The scuffles involved a few dozen people, many dressed in black and wearing helmets but quickly appeared to calm."

Luckily, the violence was scattered and promptly dissipated.

Instead it has been replaced with one of the biggest people gatherings on Syntagma square in history:

The answers to the problems the Greeks are facing are not collectivist answers so there is absolutely no reason to attend any such rallies. Why make yourself a target for incidental violence or worse when the most you can accomplish is to shout your opinion at the top of your lungs to people who aren't listening?

Release the Riot Dogs!!!!!

They love a good riot/party

Even have their own Wiki page:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Riot_dog

Riot dog is a term used by English-speaking media denoting any of the stray dogs that, in recent years, accompany street protesters in Athens, Greece.[1] It has been observed that a number of these dogs remain among the protesters even when violent rioting breaks out.[2][3] Some of the dogs have been prominently featured in media reportage on the protests.[4] Greece's Riot Dogs have acquired, through the years, a large following of fans around the world.[5][6][7]

I just hope the Greeks haven't eaten them all by now...

Google AIIB bank map, Greece is not a member, Germany is. The dollar only has to run faster then the other fiat currencies, including the EURO. This is very well played by the americans, first the IMF asked for the pension cuts, making the deal impossible, now they ask for the haircut which renders the ECB insolvent and collapses the euro.

Spain, Italy and finally France.  All as bankrupt as Greece, but large enough to shake the EU to it's core.  It will probably drag out for another decade.  These assholes can never face reality head on like men.

The EBC MUST PRINT it's way out of this, just like the fed has.  Watch for the euro to head much lower.

We will never know what really happened in Scottland. Will we get a real count in Greece? I dont know but I hope so.

I never understood the "sanctitiy of vote". To me all it does is enable fraud, but if I'm to propose a practical solution, how about giving every ballot a serial number. Then if they post the results online, I can look up my number to confirm whether I actually voted the way they say I did.

That being said, I'm not a big fan of voting to begin with. Compliance with the will of the majority? I'm an individual, period. What is the point voting, when I'm not going to cooperate with my opposition or alter my views? I'll be with like-minded people, regardless, or by myself if necessary.

In a Constitutional Republic my rights should be protected... or at least so I've read in some ancient fairy tale.

1. Most Greeks say "No!".
2. Through the Western media will be announced that the vote count was rigged.
3. The opposition take to the streets to protest against electoral fraud and announced that he does not recognize the results of the referendum.
4. Mass riots and clashes with the police will begin.
5. Unidentified snipers will be shoting the opposition demonstration.
6. To suppress the well-organized and well-armed rebels, the Greek government will be forced to use the army.
7. The Government of Greece will be announced "not legitimate." Because the Greek Government is "using snipers and army" against the "peaceful and democratic", but very well-armed opposition.
8. After that, they will create the club of "Friends of Greece," led by the United States.
9. In Greece, will be introduced "no-fly zone."
10. "The dictatorial regime of Greece and his army" will be destroyed bombings of the Air Force of NATO.

11. The minority opposition will be represented as the Western media as "the people of Greece." Most of the people of Greece will be represented as the Western media as a "separatist".

Yes, they would, and with all of the psychopathic glee that they can muster. Unfortunately for them, they are grossly outnumbered. The social tipping point hasn't been reached yet in the USSA. The inevitable collapse of the USD will be the catalyst. Once the mercenaries (LEO's) lose the monetary incentive to continue tyrannizing over the hearts and minds of their own citizens, then the tables will have turned, and the uniforms and badges will be quickly discarded in an effort to save themselves from annihilation.

To me - it is as if all the people who bought US real-estate at the very peak - held a rally to declare they had no intention of honoring their commitments.

At the very least - their credit should be destroyed.

Remarks by Secretary Henry M. Paulson, Jr. U.S. Housing and Mortgage Market Update

http://www.treasury.gov/press-center/press-releases/Pages/hp856.aspx

“And let me emphasize, any homeowner who can afford his mortgage payment but chooses to walk away from an underwater property is simply a speculator – and one who is not honoring his obligations.”

Just like the real-estate agent who purchased the house next to ours in the States for 1.4MM - at the very worst moment - and then sank another $250K in remodeling. Somehow she still owns the property but hasn't made a mortgage payment in years. That by the way is not the only property she owns - purely speculation. It all comes down to ethics.

you are mistaking ethics for business. the only issue is affordability and that was the banks' fidicuary responsibility to determine if the buyer could afford to repay the loan.

No.  This is more like Iceland where you have a few politicians that are swade/payed off by their banking buddies to secure loan that were backed up by the government.  Everyone new that Greece could not pay back the loans and all the bankers involved never thought about the crisis they are facing now.  They all thought payment was in the bag.  Not so fast.  Before this plays out you will see a few bankers and politicians in jail or better yet hanged!!  As more citizens figure out what the bankers and politicians have sold them into we will see more dead bankers and politicians.  Right now the ratio doesn't matter but soon it will be more politicians. Also, wait until the pension mess rears it's ugly head.  Soon!!!

The Greeks will vote YES, and even if they don't, their PM and Syriza will submit to the Troykia.  Their exit from the Euro will utterly crush what's remaining of their largest GDP contributor; tourism.  A extremely devalued Drackma (sp) isn't the answer.

Fri, 07/03/2015 - 15:33 | 6266773 Soul Glow
Soul Glow's picture

Ok first you are uttering some bullshit.  Leaving the euro ---> going back to the drachma would support tourism.  Haven't you ever travelled to a place where the currency is weaker than your own?  You can buy more things, do more things, rent more things.  A tourist State, that which Greece is, wants a lower value in their currency to increase the amount of goods sold.

Fri, 07/03/2015 - 15:54 | 6266821 falconflight
falconflight's picture

I disagree strongly, the volume of tourism necessary to overcome the near zero drachma worth isn't possible.  I suppose they could/would accept the Euro.  Hey I'm all for the demise of the EU, but Greek leadership hasn't made a single effort to prepare...educate the public about just how bad it's going to get in the short to mid term.  Syzira is just as deceptive as is the EU.

Since most of Greece's GDP consists of internal transactions, like most countries, the currency denomination is irrelevant for that.  It matters for imports and exports and there they would be better off with a weaker currency attracting more exports (incl tourism), reducing imports and providing exchange rate protection for import-substitution production.

Darn, sure wish America had a leader like that instead of an illegal alien usurper lying arse puppet for the most corrupted evil bankster empire ever in the history of the world. The out right evil in corruption and criminality as demonstrated by the likes of hellery cliton the wicked lying homosexual bitch from hell very well.

It is only a small matter of time until the evil nation falls under it's own weight. The stupid leadership of the usa that is bought and paid for garbage from the bottom of the evil trash heap of hell will go down in history as the very worst that mankind has ever seen. Nowhere in the world has a country declared war on the world for material things, greed, and now prepares to go to war against it's own people. The world picture is the most horrific in history and no one cares to stop the evil destruction planned for the world of human beings.

There is no more real law enforcement any moar anywhere in the world now. They are all turned chicken, and ware drapers and lace panties for their globalist zionist satanic masters from hell. The darn shame is, they have the worlds most dangerous toys to continue murdering innocent peoples with. That material god called money has taken control of 99% of most peoples minds, and hearts. Just wait till it is no moar. Coming soon to a theatre near you soon!

Yeppers, this whole shit show is so farked up beyond belief, it has to die. The asshats at the top MUST be the first to go for that walk on that short plank to be shark food ASAP!

Go ahead baylon, let your minion flunky retard isrealli evil mosad do another false flag event like all the rest they have done. (too many to list) THE WORLD WILL KNOW YOU DID IT.

Go ahead babylon, fire that first shot at a real innocent American and then see what happens. THE ENTIRE US COUNTRY KNOWS WHO THE REAL ENEMIES OF AMERICA ARE AND THEY ARE NOT FOREIGN. THEY ARE ONLY DOMESTIC ENEMIES THAT HIRE MERCENARY ARMIES THAT ARE PAID FOR BY AMERICAN TAX PAYER MONIES AGAINST THEIR WILL. AL-CIA-DUH IS THE PROBLEM. YOU WANT TO STOP ISIS/AL-CIA-DUH? NUKE LANGLEY FOR A START, THEN NUKE THE THE KNESSIT ASSWIPE ISREALLY LEADERSHIP OFF THE MAP. ONLY THEN WILL TERRORISM FOR PROFITS WORLD-WIDE STOP. ONLY THEN WILL THE WORLD BE SAFE FROM THE SATANIC/ZIONIST MONSTERS OF HELL THAT USE THE MONEY GOD TO CONTROL THE WORLD.

Have a nice fourth of July. It may not mean a thing next year because at the rate these asshats are going there may be no world left, be it struck by some incoming object, or blown up from man's stupidity and idiot usage of weapons of mass destruction. There is only one thing worse than the stupid arseholeS that cause all this madness and mayhem, and that is the stupid people that let them and keep electing these cretinous traitorous farknots back into office.

Yes, change is coming babylon. YOU start it, and the world will finish it and the rothschoilds and ALL THEIR MINIONS are at the top of every hunters list. The price for head trophies will be phenomenal and the competition to get them fierce! Same with the american leaders too. Top dollar for the heads on plates!

Greek gov’t debt as a percent of GDP is far higher than any other EU nation, why?

http://ec.europa.eu/eurostat/web/government-finance-statistics/statistic...

Why does Greece rate special treatment when other EU members have as high poverty rates?

http://ec.europa.eu/eurostat/statistics-explained/index.php/File:At-risk...(%25)_YB14_II.png

What’s wrong with Greek society that its poverty stats show a huge divergence from the rest of the EU based on single parent households w/ dependent children?

This is nothing.

Wait till the mob actually vote OXI (or Syriza pretend they have---trust me, they're printing fake OXI ballots with what remains of Greece's paper supply as we speak).

Then Athens' finest will really make the FSA's eyes water, with the army bringing up the rear.

Stop sucking Tsipras' cock. He's the biggest mangina in Europe, completely under the control of his partner Betty Batziana. She devoted her life to becoming the Big Sister of communist Greece, and now she is, in control of her man and her country beyond Hillary's wildest dreams.

Batshit Betty is using her Alexis to challenge anybody who wants to take Greece from her to yank it out of her cold dead hands. Pray the army calls her bluff sooner rather than later.

Don't vote. Run.

Look at how the Greek society has self aggrandized to its lowest common denominator through the decades.  A constant spiraling trend of stealing from future generations and other nations to pander for votes. Syzira is just another, but even worse socialist promise.  Greece is just about the worst in the world for increasing public debt.

"The position of Greece, as compared with the rest of the world, has worsened in 2014 in terms of GDP percentage. Currently it is country number 178 in the list of debt to GDP and 167 in debt per capita, out of the 179 we publish."

But introduce Mephistopheles to the story with his clever sales pitch...
