With 6 Hours Until The Greek Vote, This Is Where We Stand

Tyler Durden's picture

With just hours to go until Greeks head to the ballot box to decide the country's fate in the eurozone, the latest polls show a nation divided with only a half percentage point separating the "no" votes from the "yes" votes.

Underscoring the 'dead heat' preliminary poll results, the yes's and the no's staged dueling protests in the streets of Athens on Friday night. All told, as many as 50,000 people participated in the competing demonstrations with PM Alexis Tsipras making an appearance at the "No" rally.

As a reminder, this is the schedule for the referendum:

WHEN ARE RESULTS DUE

  • Polling stations will be open from 7am to 7pm local time and the result may be known before midnight
  • Pollsters haven’t confirmed if there will be exit polls; if there are any, they will come immediately after the polls close
  • Software distributor SinglularLogic, which has been hired to run the vote counting and data processing, should be able to provide an estimation of the winner a few hours after polls close
  • JPMorgan expects ~90% of votes will have been counted by midnight, based on past general elections in Greece; vote counting could be even faster this time as it’s a yes or no question

And this is where things stand:

*  *  *

As noted earlier today, Athenians are restless and we can't help but wonder what the scene will be in the streets of Athens on Sunday evening once the results are tallied and one of these two dueling groups is forced to acquiesce to the other's vision of Greece's future.

A "No" vote or a "Yes" vote will both lead to slavery if Tsipras travelled to the U.S. in 2013 to sell out Greece to the Bush/Clinton GLOBALISTS.

Because if so then the question is actually  does Greece join the "Good" Globalist controlled NWO now (NO vote) or stay with the "Bad" Globalist controlled NWO (YES vote) until the entire EU economy implodes and join the "Good" NWO later...

This is a classic case of damned if you do and damned if you don't. There's a lot of ZH'ers - including moi - who don't vote because they know that ultimately a single vote doesn't matter, the politicians are going to continue their wicked ways. So should Greeks just stay home? I haven't voted since 1996 for a lot of reasons, not the least of which is that I don't have the moral authority to assert my will against another human being. It's violence. Period. If I we were sitting over there and sipping a glass of retsina it's unlikely I'd go and pull the lever. Because there is no doubt that the bankers are going to find a way to convert whatever outcome to profit at my expense.

It seems Diebold is really good at making the vote really close.  Oh the drama!!

If the vote was really being counted honestly they could give each votes a confirmation code they could log onto the internet or call up a 1-800 number to confirm their vote was indeed counted correctly.   Heck Amex, VISA, FedEx and many other companies have been this type of tracking for decades.  It's not that tough to do in the age of computers and internet.

It looks to me like you've got SOOOOO many people sucking on the government tit in one form or another, you've got a majority for perpetual debt servitude.  This is how all public servants and their families, contractors, service companies and everybody else dependent on the government for their subsistence feel.  Because they don't want their cushy ride to end.  Someone has to pay for it and that's how they'll vote.

Its EXACTLY the same way in the US.  Once you meet critical mass with the numbers dependent on government largesse, there is no going back, because majority rules and that tradition will never disappear.

And, if you believe THIS poll, you're a moron.

Since when have pollsters gotten anything right?

So, let's see how this works:  You poll 1,042 people out of millions, and you think you've got some answers

on how the whole nation feels?  Polling is just another TOOL that the controllers have in their toolbox.

Next, someone will tell me that most news media tells the truth, too.

The question is, will the "fixers" of the voting mechanisms match the "votes" to the polls...

Exactly.

Every fucking vote is 49-51 it seems.

Always?

Scotland Referendum comes to mind.

Voting is a jewish trick.

Mind boggling to me that Greeks would remain slaves of debt forever by voting yes. Letting others decide their fate.

What has this planet come to. I am amazed, just amazed. A very sad day if they vote Yes.

Bullshit.

It's realy 60+% No and ~30% yes.

But the Banksters have to pretend that it's close, so when the steal the vote it doesn't look too bad.

Who is behind the Yes vote? It seems the argument on both sides is about the same, The Yes side say a Yes vote will help Greece, avoiding a painful Grexit, the No side says voting No will lead to better terms. We will never know which side (if either) is right, since only one outcome will actually occur.

People that are hoping the No vote wins so they can witness a Grexit, do not dispair if Yes wins, the Grexit will most likely still come, just delayed perhaps a few months, I'd say no more than a year

PS:  The propaganda and misrepresentation is so thick on "yes" versus "no" that I can't be sure which is which.  But I do know, BOTH are the wrong answer... the usual false alternative scam.  The only solution is to default on all existing debt AND never borrow again.  EVER.

EASY!!!

70% AND MORE ARE GOVERNMENT WORKERS!!

THEY THINK THAT A YES VOTE WILL PUNISH OTHER BUT LEAVE THEIR INCOME AS IS!!

So if they vote yes, they’ll lose a lot of government jobs, pensions, social security..... ....

It’s the stick your head in the sand trick and pray they don’t see you.

And greeks should realize that they’ll just suffer 4 more years untill they’ll get another shot. And if they vote no, those 4 years would be their recovery period.

People are just stupid. If they vote yes, I’ll laugh my ass off when they’ll all lose their money in baill ins and the new tax system will squeeze theor balls.

morons...

they deserve everything what’s comming to them if they vote yes.

He who sacrifices freedom for comfort deserves none of them.

Yes, SD, spot on. They just don't understand what's going on.

There's a reason why the system got complicated: to defraud.

If the system were simple, everyone could be engaged without ridiculous energy expended. It's a full time job to understand some of this mumbo jumbo. And TPTB know it. The result is no one is advocating for the common folk who need to focus on their family and livelihood.

But simplicity is not what TPTB want.

Complexity = darkness/obfuscation

I said so in another post and I'll repeat myself.

This is data gathered by phone call. We have people that can't pay power & water bills. They haven't been clients of Deutsche Telekom and the other providers for years.

Top analysts in Greece have also admitted that it's the first time they're doing this (referendums are an alien concept in post 70s junta Greece), so they are largely unsure how to approach these estimates.

Either way, Drachmes have been printed at IETA.

(Something that Varoufakis denied is physically possible a few months ago *wink*)

Even if this government falls, Tsipras will return in autumn with 40%+. Hell, he might even prefer the NAI vote.

In my heart I want the Greeks to vote "no" and reject the bailout. But it may cause some really tough times for them. People are going to suffer even more. That gives me pause. But people have suffered for freedom before. This might break the back of the European oligarchs - especially if it spreads to other EU countries.
