Official Greferendum Results Show "No" Landslide: Singular Logic Projects "Oxi" Victory

Tyler Durden's picture

Update: The Greek interior ministry vendor Singular Logic projects that “No” vote will prevail with over 61% of vote in Greek referendum.

It would seem that the Troika's fearmongering campaign backfired:

And:

Earlier:

It seems the early forecasts showing the No vote in the lead were right: according to the Ministry of the Interior, with over 31% of the vote counted, the "No's" have a resounding lead with well over 60% of the vote.

Keep track of the votes as they come in live at the following page:

i wrote : i predict a yes instant unlock banking for a 60-40%

i did not write  greeks will vote XXX or YYY.... sorry man, i just said what i said, your conclusions are yours.

in anothers words, to be clearer, if they voted yes today, bank would have open tomorrow, this is what i wrote. :)

anyway the problem is not what i wrote or what you understood, it is  about a population who have the potential to break the system and possibly have consequences up to not be able to buy a single beer,  for you, or for me, and this... is a way more serious, beer speaking (lol)

Jack, by the time the general election rolls around, Diebold will already have finished its work during the primaries of each party.  The establishment works much harder to get their "man" through the primary season.  Thus we end up with Bush v Clinton.  That vote doesn't matter.   It's just making sure no gadflies like Sanders or Trump make it through.

Yes!!!

PIIGS out of the EU.

Collapse the entire Global Economy. I agree.

Global Derivatives Market Meltdown and Credit Freeze II. We ar deep inside of the abyss now, past the Event Horizon with no chance of escape.

Right on. The Death and Destruction Debt paradigm, that FRAUDULENT AND CORRUPTED paradigm, is looking directly at its own destruction.

I can hardly wait for the cascading Bank Defaults due to insolvencies caused by the previous purchase of that Greek Debt. Every single Bank that owns a substantial amount of Greek Debt is TECHNICALLY INSOLVENT due to Fractional Banking reserve requirements.

Now when we compound that problem with Spain, Portugal, and then the keystone Italy, if it can last that long anyway, then it will ENSURE the destruction of ALL BANKS.

You will lose everything that you think that you own, Mark Urbo. EVERYTHING.

There are two voting papers - one for the yes or no, and the other is a blank sheet for an abstain vote. The invalid votes are presumably ones where the vote mark isn't correct or the voter has written on the paper.

Interestingly, NO leads in all electoral districts, rural and urban, island and mainland.

Greeks aged are in deep fear. The EU dream promised them large and early pensions. This is part of the Greek problem. Once in the EU, all pensions were jacked up and early pensions became a right. Haridressers could retire on state pensions at 50.

I accept that, the aged being in fear, then...if you voted no, and you have aged parents and grand parents...then it's time for you to step up to that plate too.   This is what family and tribes have done for thousands of years....taken care of each other.  Only in modern western culture has this notion broken down.   For the 50 year old hair dressers who retired....get out your scissors and go back to work to help support your parents...you are not "aged".

It's amazing that most of the over-55 Greeks are retired, 50% of the 25-and-under group is unemployed, and a huge portion of the rest have government jobs.

There just aren't many private sector jobs in Greece.  They have a highly educated workforce, too (free college education).

+100 Excellent break down! I predicted the Old people whould vote on fear that a NO vote would see their pensions pulled out from under them. Once old, fear drives a person to fear change. In Scotland, the independence vote was a clear YES, until the old people weighed in and buried the idea. Once again, of the fears that they would have their pensions pulled out from under them.

Old fear will drive American politics now. The large Baby Boom is entering retirement. They will vote for whom ever offers, no change, no hope, no opportunity, they simply want their pensions paid, and that is all.

The Banking powers of the EU first got the Greek debt put onto Public Balance sheets to save the bankers. Now the EU nations are in deep trouble if the payments stop arriving. One American economist sees the solution to run Greek debt out into 75 year bonds. Imagine the interest over 75 years! A child born today in Greece could easily die long before the present debt is anywhere near paid off! That is how insane this is!

Because the director is the EU and the real audience are the voters in Spain and Italy, I bet that the next week or two are going to be a real shitshow in Greece; the Greeks better batten down the hatches.

The Greeks do have an economy...scrap the Euro and their tourism business will skyrocket.  That will help a little.   But....I do not think Iceland model will apply exactly here.  The Greek welfare state is like the US welfare state...it's dependence is woven into their lives deeply.  It's going to be grin-and-bear-it for years to come.  The important thing will be the total eradication of the Euro Debt...bankrupt, noncollateralized loans, give it back....and start over.

They need to go after the politicians who sat on the other side of the table from the bankers as well.  The agreements did have two sides.  One of the sides, however, was not the Greek people, but the leeches at the top using "the people's" name to enrich themselves.  Those individuals need to be found and held accountable.

Before reading this, just know that I've been reading ZH since day one, I support totally free markets, I don't trust any banks, and I may or may not stack precious metals.

I used to laugh at the banksters and get excited for stuff like this. People rising up? Awesome. Markets might tank? Sweet! A lot of times, I used to try and play the market, but got burned a few times so I gave it up years ago.

But thinking it through, is anyone else just plain scared of what might happen here? Not just in Greece, but everywhere else? Everyone is so deep in debt, and markets are manipulated everywhere from FX to bonds to stocks to precious metals.

We pretty much know governments have only a few tools: inflation, taxation, and overt violence. It seems we are either at, or near the limits of the first two. The markets are phony and fake, and I agree they will ultimately be a lot lower, but what happens then? Real people depend on some sort of financial stability to live their daily lives. Virtually everyone needs to have access to a working ATM, credit or debit card in order to survive. I don't agree with the system but it's where we are.

I know it is all a false sense of stability to simply print money endlessly, but when it goes down, not just millions but billions of people will be adversely affected. I know the transition has to happen eventually, and I wish it happened earlier (2008, 2001 were good chances but people embraced the banks instead of freedom), but I don't think the transition from where we are to where we are headed will be nearly as peaceful as anyone hopes.

I've done almost all I can. I've educated myself, paid down debt, tried to educate others (podcast, blog, Facebook comments, real life conversations, convincing close friends and family to buy metals). I don't feel safe anymore in the US, but I don't know what to do or where to go.

And all of this with Jade Helm right around the corner, TPP being fast tracked, the Fed supposedly raising rates, and the whole confederate flag/gay marriage distraction to boot.  I just don't think it's gonna matter how "awake" you are, or how much cash, food, water, or PMs you have stacked if things actually get violent.

Anyone else feel this way?

Excellent post; you voice the feelings of many. It could get very nasty. Remember, TPTB try to come off as organized, but they too are chaotic. They want you to believe they have control. We are on the precipice of losing all control. Stay local and be neighborly. You've done all you can. They try to project that most people think as the army of narcissists on Farcebook, but the majority are as we are. People want freedom to thrive and be left alone. Believe this and communicate it for solidarity. Help one another so the tit of government is not seen as savior, which would secure slavery.

I agree with some of that, but I don't think it matters much what "we the people" want. And I don't even mean that in the sense that we should go back to the Constitution. I want true freedom. Government control of laws, police, and courts has given them the ability to manufacture spin and the vast majority eats it right up. Sure, some are seeing things like rampant police violence, but most still support them. I'm not against the idea of police, or law, but with government in charge, will it really ever be fair to the common person?

I also think technology has advanced to the point where they are close to, if not already beyond, the point of becoming very organized and efficient. As I said in 2012 during some sort of budget battle or debt limit debate: Do people really want more efficient government? That just means more efficient spying, looting, and killing. No thanks.

But you read about things like smart bullets (bullets that can change direction mid air to hit "strategic" targets), and it just makes you wonder. Not to mention all the data that they admit they are collecting. The longer it goes on, the more dirt they have on everyone, the more efficient they are at collecting and analyzing it, and the more accustomed people become to it. Not good.

We pray for a collapse, full well knowing that there will be pain, suffering, and death for thousands, if not millions of Americans. I don't believe any of us want that, but we know the pain of collapse will be exponentially worse the longer it is delayed. The forest needs to burn and purge itself of dead trees and underbrush every now and then so that life can continue and thrive.

The suffering is inevitable. It's time to pull off the Band-Aid.

You are assuming a more efficient and effective response than is warranted.  It took thousands of resources 4 days to identify and capture the Boston Marathon bombers.  Who were only caught after murdering an MIT police officer and slipping up where the guy whose car they hi-jacked could make a 911 call.  If the brothers had just taken off to Canada or another country the day of the bombing, they never would have been caught.  If they had another 19 teams around the US doing similar bombings on the same day, the Feds and local PDs would have been overwhelmed.

Resources will get overwhelmed.  The NOPD melted away in New Orleans after Katrina - were taking care of their own families.  It took a lot of outside resources to restore order. If it is all hitting the fan everywhere at the same time, the system will quickly get overwhelmed.  Then neighbors and your own prep will make all the difference.

It's best to prepare for the worst (but pray and hope for the best); but at the same time don't give up on the power of the people who are RISING FROM THEIR COLLECTIVE SLUMBER.

I recall the name 'Larry David' as being associated with the production of the television show 'Seinfeld'. Producer, exexutive producer, head writer; something like that.

For better or worse, the Greek people (as a majority) are SICK of the Euro side of the Banker Oligarchy and false promises associated with Usury. You'd best be paying attention to this fact, instead of worrying about what 'might' happen as a result.

Very true. I'm not saying a reset now is bad, IF IT IS ALLOWED TO HAPPEN NATURALLY. This means actual price discovery not just in metals, but in things like real estate, oil, stocks, bonds, derivatives, Bitcoin, food, and everything else. The problem is, those in control (gov/central banks) CANNOT let that happen for many reasons. Number one is it would expose them as the lying, worthless thieves and murderers they are. Two, it also would bring tremendous pain to billions of people who depend on things working they way they do. Even people like me, who have tried to distance myself from the system, would be screwed if it collapsed. My income would be crushed, at least temporarily. So if the choice is to let it collapse and get some sort of normal price discovery, or do something like a false flag or wage war to cover up their failures, I think we all know which option they will choose.

"IF IT IS ALLOWED TO HAPPEN NATURALLY."

It will never happen "naturally".  Among the human population has always been and will always be (with no reason to see this changing) a percentage of sociopaths who find their way into power/influence structures and thus manipulate people and events to fit their agendas.  Unfortunately, that is as natural as the unmanipulated economics I would love to dream about.  There is no "clean" system.  Radical Marijuana makes this point a lot.  Lawyers4Anarchists also makes the point that the abuses of our "rights" have been with us since day one, since long before those rights were on paper, and continuing right on continuously ever since.

It's always a question of proportion.  How much abuse versus how much simple human activity?  I do hope we're near the end of the spectrum for how much abuse is possible before a reaction sets in.  As bad as the reaction will be (your original post), we need at the very least to change the trajectory.  Our current direction leads one place, and that's not somewhere I want to go.

Sun, 07/05/2015 - 14:01 | 6272656 larry david
larry david's picture

So what can we do now? I'm certain the system will not be allowed to collapse and make way for price discovery. Defending yourself against a well trained army, with sci fi levels of technology, and an unlimited budget, and off balance sheet spending, and militarized police, and at least one secret prision is unrealistic. If they want violence, they won't be stopped. People think their guns are going to save them, but we've seen Katrina and Boston and the cops waltzed right on through without any incident. People didn't defend themselves, partly because they were scared of the storm or bombers (maybe a little bit), partly because they didn't really feel threatened. The cops weren't looking for them, so no need to fight. But the very fact that tanks are rolling down your street is reason to be concerned.

And the fact that even if people wanted to, they couldn't defend themselves, is a big deal too. In Boston they were pointing guns at people who were looking out the window. People are overmatched in every sense, and dependent on the very people who are intent on crushing them, financially and otherwise. Sad times we live in.

If we could just get one country, even one the size of Greece, on a truly free market, where people have total freedom, to choose their currency, to choose their police and courts through free market means, things would turn around in a hurry, and provide an example for others to follow. Maybe the new currency is Bitcoin. Maybe it's private, gold/silver backed paper or debit cards (Peter Schiff has these, Americans cannot apply though), maybe it's some sort of hybrid barter system mixed with something we haven't thought of yet. But we have all the technology we need to at least give it a try. Let failing firms and banks fail, and new ones replace them. It's the way to true prosperity.

First off. Technology is brittle. It is inherently fragile. It relies on many things, and when a system has many dependencies it is liable to failure as the dependencies fail.

I've always believed that some problems are so great that one often has to suffer more downside in order for the upside to eventually win. This is clearly the situation Greece is in today. Violence is entirely possible in Greece but if the result is a clear victory for OXI, the opposition may get the message and go quietly.

You're getting to the heart of it with this comment.

Why has the system developed the way it has, and what other options do we have?

A hundred years ago, most people were still living an agricultural lifestyle.  It's amazing to realize how much our culture has changed in such a tremendously short time.  People living on a farm have options.  They may not be rich, but they will probably not starve, overall.  Some will, sure, but the population has a foundation of resources literally sitting under their feet.

In today's world, where billions live in cities?  The problems are scary to contemplate.  And yes, I'm scared to death when I think about what a collapse might look like.

Where to go?  I also have no ideas.  Seems like a worldwide problem to me, as all parts of the world have climbed aboard this bandwagon.  As much as the US is threatened by fascism, we do still have a resource base (most especially agriculture and WATER(!!!)) that is beter than most other places in the world.  That counts for a lot.

Beyond that, there have been several threads where people have discussed the spiritual side to surviving intact what's coming.  Find a spiritual center (whatever works for you) and cultivate that.  Death is not the worst thing that can happen to a person.  A person with true integrity (a tall order which I cannot claim) can live or die with dignity and pride.  Work toward that kind of spiritual integrity as a central part of any other preparations you make.

Find others who think like you.  That's where your real home is.  National identity is nothing compared to communal identity.  I hope to meet more like you on the other side, assuming we make it.  Good luck.

Keep a low profile and dress as if you have nothing may be a good start.

Kindness to strangers without showing fear.

You still may be killed in, or worse injured and facing a lingering death, in an SHTF scenario as you may be in the wrong place at the wrong time.

If your hope is in anything on this World then you are certain to be disappointed and end up disillusioned if you live through it. You will become "Street Wise" really quick. That is a skill that I suggest everybody who has been insulated and isolated from start developing now.

Walk into the ghettos of your city and watch and see what they do and how they do it. That is what the entire infrastructure will devolve into. If you are not "Street Wise" and aren't willing to learn how to become "Street Wise" until it is forced upon you by circumstance then you will stand no chance as far too many are far too skilled at survival in today's Concrete Jungles.

It may just be a matter of luck if you can see this collapse through to the other side...if there is the other side that is.

For what it's worth, this was my morning's reading.

July 6 AM

"Whoso hearkeneth unto me shall dwell safely, and shall be quiet from fear of evil."
Proverbs 1:33

Divine love is rendered conspicuous when it I shines in the midst of judgments. Fair is that lone star which smiles through the rifts of the thunder clouds; bright is the oasis which blooms in the wilderness of sand; so fair and so bright is love in the midst of wrath. When the Israelites provoked the Most High by their continued idolatry, He punished them by withholding both dew and rain, so that their land was visited by a sore famine; but while He did this, He took care that His own chosen ones should be secure. If all other brooks are dry, yet shall there be one reserved for Elijah; and when that fails, God shall still preserve for him a place of sustenance; nay, not only so, the Lord had not simply one "Elijah," but He had a remnant according to the election of grace, who were hidden by fifties in a cave, and though the whole land was subject to famine, yet these fifties in the cave were fed, and fed from Ahab's table too by His faithful, God-fearing steward, Obadiah. Let us from this draw the inference, that come what may, God's people are safe. Let convulsions shake the solid earth, let the skies themselves be rent in twain, yet amid the wreck of worlds the believer shall be as secure as in the calmest hour of rest. If God cannot save His people under heaven, He will save them in heaven. If the world becomes too hot to hold them, then heaven shall be the place of their reception and their safety. Be ye then confident, when ye hear of wars, and rumours of wars. Let no agitation distress you, but be quiet from fear of evil. Whatsoever cometh upon the earth, you, beneath the broad wings of Jehovah, shall be secure. Stay yourself upon His promise; rest in His faithfulness, and bid defiance to the blackest future, for there is nothing in it direful for you. Your sole concern should be to show forth to the world the blessedness of hearkening to the voice of wisdom.

The point that is finally being admitted, however, is that the debt cannot be repaid.
