The thing I like about Trump, even though I frequently disagree with his views, is that he seems to be the one candidate not afraid to speak his mind. Very refreshing. The immigrants live in communities where they do not feel safe because of these 'bad' Mexicans. They see that nothing is being done to stop or to deport the criminals. They fear for their own children. They are potential Trump voters -- if Trump can establish a policy that lets Mexican families re-join and if they stay out of trouble, to let them eventually become citizens. If Trump goes whole hog to kick all immigrants out, he will have trouble in some states.

Trump clearly has no problem with people who have immigrated legally. His objections are only to those who have done so illegally. He has already said all those who have broken the law (other than being in the US illegally) would be immediately ejected and that after building a wall that stops illegal entry he'll work out what to do with the rest.
