Greeks Take To The Streets To Protest Brussels "Blackmail" - Live Feed
Thousands of Greeks have once again taken to the streets in a show of solidarity as PM Alexis Tsipras attempts to rally support in Parliament for a deal with creditors that looks nearly identical to the proposal the Greek people voted against last weekend.
If all goes according to Tsipras' plan, the deal will be pushed through at a Eurogroup meeting on Saturday in Brussels and the PM will have officially sold out the voters who just last Sunday rallied behind his impassioned (and perhaps disingenuous) plea for a "no" vote.

With youth unemployment rate at 50+% this will not be a peaceful acceptance no matter which way it goes. Greeks must ask themselves if their future is better off with some measured austerity (which will happen one way or the other) or with civil unrest that could easily escalate into full scale civil war? The results of the later will surely bring in outsiders to quell the destruction.
The "vote" was a mistake as it let the people believe they had a choice. Well, they did, but someone forgot to tell them a "NO" vote meant "NO" money and "NO" plan to survive without it. So just what was that vote really about? The Greek people are being jerked around by both sides and unforunately they will face tougher times than now.

Let me get this straight. The people said NO. The govt is not doing what the people said in a supposed democracy. Thus the people are gathering so they can go into the offices of these traitors and kick them out, but the traitors call out the goon squads against the people. This is not a democracy. If it was these politicians would either willingly leave the offices if they disagree with the people, or be thrown out the windows.

This is why Syriza has failed. When you go into negotiations, you better have a fallback plan, otherwise you are just bluffing with nothing as your hole card. The proper response would have been to develop at least a stopgap plan to recapitalize the banks outside the Troika on an interum basis, even if much of that recapitilization was smoke and mirrors. The goal should have been to at least provide the illusion to the Greek people that the Greek banks were secure oustide of the Troika. Failing that, Syriza had no leverage and only demands, and no banker is going to be coerced by that. On the flip side, the Troika hole card was always known as it was the destruction of the Greek banks and Greek economy. So if you didn't have a better hole card, you are fucked. I would have cozied up to the Russians, China and the BRICS from day one to use them to kick the can, instead of letting the Troika keep kicking my ass.

It actually looks like Varofarkis resigned (with a face saving explanation) because Tsipras was insisting on doing a deal at any cost and ignoring the referendum result and Varofakis wanted no part of that.
Recall Goldman Sachs prior opinion (directive) on the on the referendum and fate of Greece:
"A Yes vote followed by a departure of Tsipras and Varoufakis will be the most favorable to markets."

That's why you don't hear much about Classical Greek Civilization after 300 BC. It no longer existed.

He did NOT changed. He may have signed for Brussels demands, but those will not be honored. This is nothing new, previous bailouts also required much more than was done, in fact most of it was never done. This time is same, he "fold", country receive bailout but most of the structural changes will never happen.
