It's Not Just The Troika: 79% Of Greeks Oppose Syriza's Third Bailout Proposal
While we, and Syriza, await to see just how violently the Troika will throw up all over the Greek proposal (which may have been valid on June 26 but no longer is now that the Greek economy has ground to a halt and virtually all supply-chain linkages are broken leading to a freefall in GDP) and just how many more austerity and pension cut demands that red-pen covered creditor mark up will have, there is a new and far more pressing problem facing Greek PM Tsipras.
It turns out that after urging the Greek nation to vote "Oxi" to the June 26 Troika deal proposal, a demand which over 61% of the country followed, and less than a week later flip-flopping and capitulating to all demands (and then some) does have consequences for the Greek prime minister Tsipras, whose days in government now appear numbered.
According to a snap poll by Bridging Europe, a whopping 79% of respondents said they are against the Third bailout proposal of the Greek government, with a further 74% stating they believe that the Greek government's proposals go against the 61% of the Greeks who voted "No" in the referendum.
And while the poll appears to have miscalculated just how willing the entire parliament is to sell out democracy, with 53% stating that the proposal would likely not pass parliament with full support (it did), another 51% believe that Greece will have snap elections in the "next couple of months."
It is that last question that will be of greatest interest to Merkel and the Troika, because if indeed there is another imminent change in Greek government, either peacefully or less so, then the entire Third bailout, and the €74 billion in debt that the Troika may hand over to Greece next week, will be promptly voided and overruled by the next anti-austerity party (which one hopes is not the "radical right" Golden Dawn).
But in any case, the last thing Schauble et al will want, is to negotiate with an "untrustworthy" premier, one whose own people may overthrow in the coming weeks.
Which is a good lesson to aspiring politicians everywhere: if you are publicly betraying someone in a critical argument, make sure it is just one side, never both.
Then again, considering it may well have been Tsipras' intention to lose the referendum vote and quietly go away into that good night, he just may be the biggest winner here. Let's just hope that his succession is a peaceful one.

Morons in Power
Here’s another piece of non-MSM news ;-)
Remember Nuland’s infamous “Fuck the EU” phone call?
Well, there’s a new “intercept” out there.
According to the Lifenews, during John McCain’s recent visit to Ukraine, his aide’s phone was hacked. The phone contained, amongst other disturbing things, a video of an ISIL execution being produced inside a pavilion.
This is a full-blown Hollywood-like production with all bells and whistles. (Video)
Just wondering… was the Gaddafi death video “produced” at the same ranch where John Wayne’s westerns used to be filmed? ;-)
Looney
Only a few Greek politicians like the plan.
Of course they do.
Make the Germans look like the bad guys who will cause all the grief to come in Greece now
While these politicos walk off stage to hang out with the banksters they helped kick the can for all these years.
ITS JUST A MATTER OF TIME, SHORT TIME... VAROUFLAKIS Will BECOME NEW GREEK-XIT PM!
TSIPRAKIS Has Shot His LAST Load, No More Loads Left...
I suspected after watching Tsipras (Non) reaction to the brilliant speech by Nigel Farage in the EUP that something was amiss. So what has happened here? Has Tsipras been corrupted by The EU or Washington? Or has be become fearful for his life and/or that of his family by the same players? Something here is NOT adding up?
That was stunning in his non reaction, almost embarrassing for Farage. Tsipras has surely been compromised by EU and Obuttfuck. How can they implement the one world plan if these countries keep breaking away
Here is PCR's editorial on the situation:
http://www.paulcraigroberts.org/2015/07/07/greece-eu-situation-paul-crai...
This is an article describing Tsipras meeting with Nuland in March.
http://www.theguardian.com/world/2015/mar/17/deadlock-over-greek-debt-cr...
Interestingly, The Guardian was the only MSM source I could find describing the visit. All the other hits I received through searching were either from non-MSM sites, or Greek / Russian papers. Silence from the Western media cabal of the New York Times, Washington Post, etc.
PhiliPat,
I agree. Everything to me looks like Nuland, who WAS in Athens recently, threatened Tsipras. Paul Craig Roberts had a great video and several editorials on this and I agree. Tsipras changed his story and I believe he is in fear for his life. Things seem to have gone too far as far as the people are concerned and the Genie is well out of the bottle. They cannot put it back and things are spiraling out of control. Everyday this goes on more and more "commoners" wake up thto the enslavement thay are in. The outrage is building globally. People are waking up. It doesn't take too many to produce a critial mass of numbers to make this global problem of central planners and bankers go to some kind of insurection. War amoungst the people and the goverments is coming. Plan accordingly.
His Father owns one of the principal construction companies ....billions in contracts at stake
His Father owns one of the principal construction companies ....billions in contracts at stake
Yes it was clear during the Frage speech that Tsipras had sold out and hated the referendum result.
There is nothing more pathetic for a human being than betraying the trust of your people. Tsipras, from all people, should know that, considering Thermophylae and all the stuff called "Greek history"...
Nahh.. My guess is they both Grexit stage left never to be seen nor heard from again
Leaving Greece at the mercy of a power struggle and possible civil war.
The Germans may think they could take advantage of such strife to recoup their losses
But I believe it would only spread to Portugal, Italy , Spain in no time.
I believe this is the outcome Putin is waiting for to make a move.
Which will bring the US and GB into a direct military standoff with Russia
Gee... Sound like a plan to anybody??
No or Trokia? "No" being, just what? How will you finance "NO". What is the peoples plan? Just "NO"? Reminds me of the Ghostbuster movie where they huddle for a plan and come up with "Get It".
No different than any other bankruptcy...ends in divorce.
That remains to be seen. Despite public statements to the contrary, the fear of contagion may yet overwhelm the unwillingness to forgive Greece its debt.
I can't wait for the Greek government to try to collect taxes after this debacle. Everything is now gonna be under the table and off the books.
The Greek military, which has a history of junta's, has been very quiet this time around, so I wouldn't be surprised to see them step in and 'save' the country sometime soon. Of course this would be an unanticipated action and the markets would have a nice little panic. It wouldn't save Greece but it would change the rules of the game....
If the Greek military had any sense of duty or ethic, they would have stepped in ages ago. How could they stand by while wealthy foreigners treated their nation, and quite literally their daughters, as 5€ whores?
If the same happened in my homeland I can guarantee you I would go Frank Castle almost immediately. How many German, English and many other Euro tourists fucked young Greek girls forced into prostitution by this economic catastrophe? The Greek military has COMPLETELY failed their oath and to think they might finally act upon it only because their own benefits could be at stake is disgusting.
The Greek army has been stigmatized by the greek civil war, the 7 year dictatorship and its role in the turkish invasion of Cyprus. Due to those facts, it can not intervene in anything of political nature.
This is beyond political. This is the life and liberty of Greek citizens being taken away by a foreign power. If the Greek military cannot or will not intervene, it is no more than another welfare recipient. I suspect the Greek citizens will only achieve their liberty the old fashioned way, violent rebellion from an oppressive government.
Putin is a POS.
If someone understand Russia then go to Russian websites where some high level Russian military commanders are accusing Putin of treason and predict his assassination in not too distant future.

LINKS?
I don't get why Germany is blamed for the Euro mess at all. It was the French who insisted on the creation of the Euro in exchange for their consent to German unification in the first place. Now it is Germany's fault?
The banking mafia deflect attention away from themselves by creating division and conflict between their victims.
In the north their media blame the Greeks and in the south their media blame the Germans.
It's standard divide and rule tactics.
I agree. Lets blame the French.
ITS JUST A MATTER OF TIME, SHORT TIME... VAROUFLAKIS Will BECOME NEW GREEK-XIT PM!
Looney,
I've just been to LifeNews.com - it's a pro life site and there is no indication anywhere there of this video, which has a YouTube image on it but no link to YouTube.
Where did you get it? Where is your link, other than to the video only?
DavidC
you know damned well that YT would have removed it faster than you can say rumplestiltsken
Here you go: http://lifenews.ru/news/157137
Looney, you have linked to the vid, but not to the news piece.
Could you provide the link, please, even in Russian?
It would be much appreciated. Thanks.
Also known as socialists...
I think this could easily bring Merkel down if she makes the wrong move. This could be all about German elections not just greek elections
Germans are left with no right moves anymore. They are fucked up the big time.
Tsippy the pinhead?
PM Tsipras met Ben Dover and complied. Now he's PM Tippyass.
Or Tsipras Iscariot, if you prefer the Biblical analogy.
Greeks should love it because they'll never pay back a penny. Free money.
This is a bogus poll by some "youth think tank" with no accreditation whatsoever. The only truth is, that 80% of the ignorant greeks want in on the EUR by any means.
LIKE I HAVE SAID ALL DAY, TSIPRAS IS A DUMB FUCK
Historically, when things get too chaotic, people want order, whatever the price. They will cheer when the military takes over, even in the cradle of democracy.
I am continuously amused by the cradle of democracy references. It seems that democracy has become an old man, on life support and shitting his hospital bed.
Human systems are never perfect or perfected. At best we can hope to live in a time of benevolence and peace. This is not that time.
Glad I bought some more gold and silver the other day.
And due to buy some more soon, was waiting for another dip (in AUD price) but still not coming.
Yeh, I get the feeling VAROUFLAKIS will be back. If that happens then you know the real game is back on, and there will be no swerving at the last moment. When you got nothing to lose anymore, then play to lose it all.
The Greeks will have to pave the way and kick this government out on its ass.
Something some NATO nations should be doing as well.
Tsipras most likely knows that this will not be accepted. When the marked up version returns to his court, he can then reject it and come away looking clean. Greece will not receive another bailout, they are out, this is all treatre.
He will never come out clean anymore, he is like Obama, a man whose 'word' you can't trust or believe.
The poll question which should be asked is if the Greeks prefer this plan over leaving the Euro.
The Independent Greeks basically admitted that the proposal was the last chance of the mainstream parties to avoid being overthrown because financing Greece's standing army won't be an option after Grexit.
By the end of the month, Tsipras will be replaced by a new military government with the backing of Golden Dawn. Its first act will be to execute him.
Are you suggesting accountibility might be restored?
I wonder if the Greek moment of surrounding parliament with road flares will end as peacefully and as well as the Icelandic one?
I'm guessing we will see within the next 2-3 months.
I don't like dark winters or stubbing my toe either. The important question isn't what you like or dislike, it's what alternatives you're willing to accept.
Q1: Do you know what the 3rd bailout proposal is? A: 95% do not care to know; just get us out and get this over. Hello Russia and greetings Chinese.
The Russians and Chinese are not soft hearted suckers like the EU, who just blindly keep shoveling money to Greece.
Russia and China will DEMAND a tremendous amount FROM the Greeks. If the Greeks think the EU is being "tough", they ain't seen nothing.
Hang'em High.
This is just a dance. Neither wants to be the first to tell the other to gfy, so that when the dust settles those other bastards can be blamed.
Greece is over. Has been for years. Everybody knows it.
Doesn't mean that there are no vultures perched nearby, smacking their lips.
I can't believe Tsipras has done such a suicidal act, worst dumb move of any politicians. Of course, must be someone out there waving his magic finger to control the script.
Tsipras and YV played game theory with the lives of the Greece people and have to flee the parliment like the rats they are.
The chart on the left looks like pac man. The universe is speaking.
Greeks are as trustworthy at paying their debts as they are at paying their taxes.
"79% Of Greeks Oppose Syriza's Third Bailout Proposal"
Certainly by now the voters in Greece (and all countries) understand that politicians do not give a flying fuck about what they want.
It's all about and always has been about what is good for them and lines their pockets!
wonder if the Eurocrats have secretly promised Tsipras a nice cushy number in Brussels if he can push this package through.
Tsipras is like the dog chasing a car and has managed to latch onto the rear bumper and doesn't know what to do next. As far as the vote he called for, "be careful what you ask for, you might just get it".
Tsipras cannot serve two masters. He has chosen the one with cash.
Next Greek government - coalition Golden Dawn and KKE Communists.
jawohl
What evidence can Greek leaders provide indicating how they will create hundreds of thousands of new jobs (i.e. good-paying jobs) that will substantially reduce unemployment and help their GDP grow organically. If they can't grow their GDP organically, what good is yet another bailout... other than to delay the inevitable a little longer.
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/economics/11554873/Why-theres-little-...
But in any case, the last thing Schauble et al will want, is to negotiate with Varoufakis.
Pretty obvious that Schauble et al point-blank refused any possible negotiation with
Varoufakis, which led to outsting Yannis.
Tsipras is obviously a gutless, treasonous swine willing to do whatever Merkel wants,
including instant betrayal of the Greek people's referendum
The Syriza party was elected by the dumb majority of Greeks to keep the Troika from imposing austerity. Syriza party had a referendum, reaffirmed the people don't want to leave EU/EMU, and are against austerity. So, really, the mandate the Syriza party was elected on, was irrational. The Syriza party negotiated with the Troika to no avail. Now it is evident, Syriza must concede and do the opposite of what their constituency elected them to do, or breakaway from the EU/EMU. The dumb majority of Greeks want neither. Irrantional. Stupid. Regardless of the odious debts fraudulently placed on the Greek's balance sheet, a decision must be made. Repudiate the debts and leave, or stay and suffer back breaking austerity.
Perhaps it is time for the Syriza party to step down and hold an election :)
The Greecs really believe that the rest of Europe is a kind of a one-waystreet with a free 24hour ATM spilling billions of Euro's of free money to them. Can somebody please tell them that they are absolutely out of their mind and that they should get their own business straight and stop to rely on others. "There is not such a thing as a free lunch" as we say...
Nonsense. The French and German banks, which are who who received 85% of Greece's bailout money do not get their money out of ATMs. It's not like all this money that has to be repaid was ever used to benefit the Greek people, it was used to line the pockets of foreign banksters and corrupt former governments, and especially Goldman Sachs.
If a new deal is done then none, not a red cent, of the new money will go to the Greek people, all of the money will go to banks and banksters.
Tspiras is not equal to a historical role. Tomorrow is another Dawn
I hope Golden Dawn gives Psipras a Golden Shower.
Zion: It rubs the lotion on its skin. It does this whenever it is told.
Greece: Zion... my family will pay cash. Whatever ransom you're askin' for, they pay it.
Zion: It rubs the lotion on its skin or else it gets the hose again.
[Zion to his dog, DC US]
Zion: Yes, it will, DC US, won't it? It will get the hose!
Greece: Okay... okay... okay. Mister, if you let me go, I won't - I won't press charges I promise. See, my mom is a real important woman... I guess you already know that.
Zion: Now it places the lotion in the basket.
Greece: Please! Please I wanna go home! I wanna go home please!
Zion: It places the lotion in the basket.
Greece: I wanna see my mommy! Please I wanna see my...
Zion: Put the fucking lotion in the basket!
Liberty is a demand. Tyranny is submission..
I think Tsipras sold out before the referendum and only called it hoping for a "yes" and now he's stuffed.
Hopefully the next one will have more of a backbone.
What's wrong with Golden Dawn?
They are the Party of 'Family Values.'
Nothing's wrong with them. Right now, they're making a list & checking it twice. Gonna make sure Syriza gets shot thrice!
Hopefully Golden Dawn will hang all of the bankers.
Where does one buy piano wire in the 21st century?
Sicilian neckties for everyone!
Any of those 79% rioting yet?
Time to give Tsirpussy a Spartan necktie
There is nothing holy or sacred about this debt.
Burn it.
JUDAS!
